You’d be rum-iss to pass up this experience
My boyfriend and I recently took the Barbados Rum Tasting Tour, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. It felt like an incredible value because we received so much more than what we paid for.
Our driver, Dexter, picked us up directly from our hotel in a comfortable, air-conditioned Sprinter van that quickly became our “party bus” for the day. From the moment we met him, he had us laughing non-stop. He was hilarious, incredibly kind, and turned the drive into a fascinating sightseeing experience. On the way to Foursquare Rum Distillery, Dexter shared insights about Barbados’ culture, history, agriculture, and daily life.
At Foursquare, we were able to safely leave larger belongings in the locked van before enjoying a fantastic distillery tour and rum tasting. We had plenty of time to explore, take photos, ask questions, and browse the gift shop. The tasting room was beautiful, and there were clean restrooms and snacks available for purchase.
After Foursquare, we had over an hour before our next tour at Mt. Gay, and this is where the experience really exceeded expectations. Rather than simply waiting around, Dexter took us on an extended island tour. He stopped at Rihanna’s childhood home where he played photographer for us all, pointed out local landmarks, and even pulled over when we spotted vendors selling coconut sweet bread and local fruits. He was happy to accommodate extra stops and made sure everyone was having a great time.
The Mt. Gay experience was equally impressive and the rums did not disappoint. It was the same full tour you would receive if you booked directly through Mt. Gay. While we personally preferred the rums at Foursquare, Mt. Gay’s atmosphere and hospitality were outstanding. Our guide, “Rum Al,” was energetic, entertaining, and incredibly knowledgeable. We enjoyed cocktails before the tour, learned a lot about the rum-making process, and had time afterward to shop for a Barbados-exclusive dark rum and relax at their beachfront cocktail lounge.
The return trip was just as enjoyable. Dexter surprised us with homemade banana bread between tours, and the owner, Scott, even stopped by Mt. Gay to greet everyone personally by name. That level of customer service really stood out.
I also appreciated how well the day was structured. Every distillery had plenty of cold water available, and there was a nice balance of indoor and outdoor activities, making it easy to stay comfortable despite the tropical climate.
My only recommendation for future guests is to eat a hearty breakfast before the tour—you’ll definitely be tasting plenty of rum throughout the day!
Overall, this was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Great rum, amazing guides, outstanding service, and a much more personal and immersive tour than we expected. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Barbados.

Enjoyable!
We visited the major highlights of Barbados and our guide Steven was friendly and engaging! I enjoyed the drive through Bridgetown, seeing Rihanna’s childhood home and seeing remnants of the Garrison Savannah, we also saw George Washington’s home. My favorite part of the trip was visiting the coastal town of Bathsheba and seeing the mushroom rocks! St John’s Parish is a beautifully kept church, the ushers were putting up flowers in anticipation of tomorrow’s church services. Enjoyable half day trip!

What an amazing...
What an amazing experience. My children were dying to see some monkeys but we weren’t expecting so many- over 80 of them all just roaming free!! Our driver Winston collected us from our hotel, took us to the animal flower caves too and taught us a lot about the island. He was so funny and knowledgable and really made our tour even better than we could’ve imagined. Thank you so much for such a memorable day with our family:)

All of the reviews that I read about our tour guide Ahmed were true. He was very knowledgeable of the history of Barbados and had a charming personality. He was truly at the top of his game. He showed us all of the highlights of the island. I would highly recommend this tour.

The Best of Barbados, South, East. North and West.
This your will give you a unique experience filled with beautiful landscapes, Barbados history, a true look at the culture and authentic Barbados food.
I will never forget the Pet Farm, the many historical churches, the different parishes, sugar cane harvesting, the unique water systems and so much more. The uniqueness of the tour is the ability to interact with the locals.

Highly recommend! 💛
We’re so happy we booked this tour while visiting Barbados! 🌴☀️
Everything was absolutely beautiful — from the breathtaking ocean views and charming local villages to the tropical garden filled with blooming flowers. After a long winter in Canada, seeing so much color and nature felt like pure joy for the eyes. 🌺
And the lunch… another level of happiness 😍
Such a lovely way to experience the island, its culture, and its warmth. Highly recommend! 💛

Outstanding Cave Tour
From the time you walk in the door until the tour begins, you are being informed of every step. When the tour begins, in depth history is provided by the guide. They give you the opportunity to take as many pictures needed, no pressure. It’s fun, exciting and very safe.

Excellent way to spend a day !!!
An excellent and relaxed way to enjoy the coastline of Barbados and see more of the island than just Bridgetown or the west coast beaches.
Driver, Winston was first class, very knowledgable and professional plus tour was never rushed. Lunch provided at the Animal Flower Cave, very north of Barbados and was delicious. A very well worth tour to do if you have not long arrived as provides bearings and insight into what else to explore, visit whilst staying on the island.

A beautiful vision in pink and black!
Perfect meet and greet experience! We very easily found our consultant once we disembarked the plane. She was so kind and helped us thru all steps of the customs and immigration process. She waited patiently for our luggage and then assisted us to our transport. Highly recommend!

Prior to the tour, I...
Prior to the tour, I provided a list of locations we'd like to visit. We had a wonderful experience with our tour guide, Stewart. He is a native Bajan and accommodated every request on the itinerary. He was very knowledgeable and took us to the perfect
locations for photos at every stop. He suggested a wonderful place for lunch towards the end of our tour (Dina's), and the food was absolutely delicious. Thank you for a wonderful day.

Interesting insight into the history
An interesting insight into the history of Bridgetown. We had a small group and plenty of opportunities to ask follow-up questions. Our guide was a young man who was very knowledgeable about the city's history and was able to answer all our questions. The walk lasted a little longer than the original duration, but we also got to see all the "extra spots".
