Karlo was simply fantastic and took exceptional care of us throughout the tour. He reached out a day in advance, checked in on our arrangements, and even suggested the most efficient use of local transport, so everything felt smooth and well planned before we even began.
Karlo is a terrific guide with an exceptional understanding of Croatian history and the wider region. He shared a wealth of information about the country, along with fascinating insights into Zagreb itself. His storytelling brought centuries of history to life within just three hours. It was engaging, clear, and never overwhelming.
What really elevated the experience was how interactive the tour was. Karlo carried an iPad and showed historic photographs at each key site, helping us clearly understand how these places evolved over time. This added a wonderful visual layer to the storytelling.
He was also very attentive to our personal interests, frequently checking in and offering thoughtful suggestions and recommendations for things to do during our stay in Zagreb.

Karlo made the tour personable. He was in tune to our interests and utilized that information while on the tour. Karlo had many anecdotes that made the history shared even more vibrant. Karlo was passionate and knowledgeable when sharing the history of Croatia. Having a private tour, enabled us to adjust as needed but also allowed us to have more meaningful conversations. Karlo is funny, helpful and sincere. He truly cared that we enjoyed our adventure. He went above and beyond in sharing recommendations for places to eat, get a drink and other area of interests. He even assisted us after the tour when we had a luggage issue and needed help in finding clothing stores. We will definitely choose Karlo for other adventures in Croatia. He has even got us thinking about a multi-day trip!

I guide provided an outstanding three and a half hour tour that went far beyond typical historical facts. He brought Croatia's rich history to life while also sharing deeply personal stories about how the war and earthquakes affected his own family. This personal perspective added an incredibly moving and authentic dimension to our understanding of the country his knowledge was extensive and he had a wonderful way of welding together historical content with present day realities Beyond the tour itself he was genuinely helpful in ensuring we had a great overall experience in Croatia providing excellent restaurant recommendations for our current location as well as suggestions for our upcoming stop in the country. Karlo is a friendly, knowledgeable, and entertaining tour guide who knows all about Croatia and Zagreb ‘s history. He was able to tie together Croatia’s complicated history, showing us important sites, as well as At the same time, he kept the conversation light (when possible), and interspersed personal stories that were pertinent. I-pad photos really added to the tour. Highly recommend!
He also does private driving tours. We’d book one but today is our last day in Zagreb.

We had an absolutely delightful tour with Karlo -- and that was no easy feat as we had just arrived after 15 hours of travel with two young kids (ages 7 & 9) who were even more loopy than ever and dodged rain throughout the evening. Yet, Karlo made everything absokutely enjoyable.
He met us right at our hotel, tailored the tour to the fleeting attention spans of the kids and even brought them snacks to keep them happy along the way. I was actually very worried the kids would be unbearable and ruin the entire experience, but Karlo pulled out every trick he had to ensure that did not happen. I was grateful (and relieved). Plus, he found just the right moments to go into greater depth on the history of Zagreb with me, offering so many interesting details and fascinating facts in so little time.
Overall, thanks to Karlo, it ended up being the perfect welcome to Zagreb despite the somewhat uncooperative weather! We got to stretch our legs after a long flight, learn loads more about Zagreb and Croatia and learned our way around the city city well enough to navigate it solo the next day.
I can't think of a better way to kick off a stay in Zagreb. This tour was faboulous!!!

This tour was superb from the excellent personal communication before we arrived in Zagreb to the fun walk around this beautiful city’s historic highlights. Karlo’s knowledge was encyclopaedic, but not delivered in dry facts but in stories and accompanied by a gallery of photographs showing the life of Zagreb and its people through the past century. Karlo’s love of the city and his country came shining through. We learned so much and this tour oriented us and enabled us to get the most out of the city for the rest of our stay. It’s an excellent way of being informed in detail about what you’re looking at. The guide was courteous, friendly and spoke excellent English. Since it was almost dark during the tour. It’s a different scenery from when the sun is out.

Wonderful walk filled with fascinating historical facts and stories. Karlo is very knowledgeable about history and he peppered his explanations with vignettes of his own life. The tour was very much personalized and Karlo was very invested in ensuring that we were getting what we wanted out of the experience. He struck the right balancing between making each site interesting and not overwhelming us with information. He genuinely wanted us to enjoy the city and even sent us a list of restaurants, hang out places, and wine recommendations afterwards. We highly recommend this private walking tour!

I highly recommend travelers to Zagreb start with a tour by Karlo, guide extraordinaire of Bespoke Croatia. With his easy manner and friendliness, Karlo introduced us to his city with enthusiasm, humor, knowledge and patience. Promptly meeting my adult daughter and I at a prearranged location, a well-known park monument, we spent our first afternoon in the Croatian capital learning geography, history, culture and quirks of this fascinating region, which he made all the more interesting using 21st century tech. From dark tunnels to hidden murals, we felt like we were seeing Zagreb from the inside! Despite the torrential rain, he remained upbeat and energized, keeping us thoroughly entertained. At the conclusion of a busy, wet afternoon, he even made reservations for us at a restaurant he recommended based on our food preferences, escorted us there, introduced us to the wait staff, and made sure we were tucked into a cosy table for traditional Croatian meal. It was delicious as were all the other meals and treats we enjoyed following Karlo's recommendations. We will definitely arrange another exceptional tour with Karlo on our next visit to this part of the world!

A really great tour to learn more about Zegreb. karlo takes you to see parts of the city to get amazing pictures on your trip.
