Wonderful day spent walking through one of the most beautiful parks in the world. Guide was excellent. Awesome weather didn’t hurt and waterfalls were all flowing strong! Entire lake/slap walk was 8.5k. Advise visiting May/June or fall to see all the beauty and avoid summer crowds. Was told foot traffic was light would not have liked to see heavy 🙂. Hvalak! Amazing place!

This was a very active experience…plenty of walking uphill and down. Beautiful lakes, fantastic waterfalls!! We had hoped to use our card for payment for the park entry fee but the tour guide wanted cash.

Wow!!!

What a fantastic place to visit. Make sure to bring your camera, some snacks to eat, good shoes and a mind to take in so much beauty!

Not for everyone

Eric_P, Aug 2025
Lots of walking over log planks, dirt, rock, and paver stones. We noted about 7 miles. Our 6 year old handled it fine, but he was always lagging behind the group, which moved pretty fast, stopping occasionally for us to catch up, and then often moving on again right away. This sometimes meant we didn't get photos together, because our guide was already moving on ahead of the group and we couldn't ask her to take one, as she was doing for others. . Note that the lunch stop is at a restaurant outside the park a ways, after 3 PM. Bring snacks out be ready to buy them at stands during stops, not that you'll have time to wait in line and eat before time to move on again. We avoided hunger by bringing our own snacks and sandwiches. Plenty of well-spaced bathroom breaks. Samantha is a knowledgeable and friendly guide. As far as the park itself, definitely worth the visit, and the price we paid to have someone drive us and guide us efficiently around the park was worthwhile, but I really didn't like being part of a tour group due to the pace. This shouldn't be a problem if you don't have children or you aren't disabled or otherwise have trouble with keeping up with a swift-moving group over different types of terrain, including significant hills. It should me noted that the falls are much less impressive in the summer. As the guide noted before we even started walking, it is recommended to go in the spring.

Great nature experience

Kitty_L, Jul 2025
Amazing experience! The national park is extremely well maintained, especially considering how crowded it is in the summer. The lakes are the most beautiful blue you will ever see. Definitely worth the 35 euro entrance fee to the park! Our guide, Karlo, was amazing. He is an experienced traveler himself and knows a lot about other countries, so he was able to relate to travelers in the group. He was great at keeping track of the group, made sure we had plenty of rest break, and no one got lost. Bus driver was also amazing - there was an accident on the highway on the way back but the driver was able to maneuver his way out of the traffic jam on a narrow road and find us another way back to Zagreb.

Tour left without us

Juliana_G, Jul 2025
We were very disappointed. Meeting time is listed as 8am but our tour left without us before 8am. Or it was a scam, as we attempted to contact the tour many times and they did not reply. Do not book.

Beautiful scenery, knowledgeable guide

James_A, Jul 2025
This made for a beautiful day. Samanta was a fantastic guide and still made sure we got to see as much as possible despite fighting traffic.

Beautiful national park but overwhelmed by tourista

Chandra_W, May 2025
The beauty of the lake is astounding. The guide Samanta was adept in leading a big group of 22 people in a timely manner. Kudos to her. What I don’t like is the number of tourists going to this national park. There was no serenity or peace.

One of the Best Tours to the Most Scenic Place

Manuela_J, Apr 2025
It was an amazing experience. With 16 lakes and over 90 waterfalls, it looked like a magical place straight out of a fairytale. And our tour guide Sanja was absolutely wonderful. And the tour felt very relaxed and not rushed as I thought it would be. It was a relatively small group and a very enjoyable day

A must if you are visiting Croatia!!

Ramesh_I, Apr 2025
Highly recommended trip, Sanja, our tour guide was simply brilliant. Very knowledgeable, well versed with the landscape. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip and a must if one likes nature

A comprehensive day trip to Plitvice lakes from Zagreb

AlanC_T, Apr 2025
This is a very well organised trip to view a really amazing part of Northern Croatia . Sanja the tour guide was very enthusiastic in illustrating the major highlights in a comfortable pace considering. There are adequate stops on this trip hence the travellers have the time to appreciate the views . She is also very familiar with the major lookout points and the area.

Plitvice Lakes is awesome

Winfield_C, Mar 2025
Plitvice Lakes was a large part of the reason I wanted to visit Croatia, and it certainly did not disappoint. I've traveled quite a bit and I've never seen anything quite like it. It's amazing.

Must do this tour

Sheil_M, Oct 2024
This is one of the beautiful lakes I've ever been to. My friends and I had a great time hiking even thou it was a cold..lol

Half tour

ANAMARIA_C, Oct 2024
They removed Rastoke from the program without prior notice. One of our main interests was to go to this small town. Viator blamed the tour operator for changing the program, but neither of them returned partially any of the money to us. Very disappointing!

Massively over priced

Liane_W, Sep 2024
Lovely guide, but transport was late (no communication about this) and it was raining very heavily. No shelter at pick up point so was soaked before tour started. Some people were transferring between Zagreb and Split so better value if you do this, but a group size of 60 is far too big and we were herded like cattle around the lakes. Extremely poor value for a day trip as you're basically only getting transport.

Amazing day!!!!

LucyElizabeth_W, Sep 2024
An amazing experience, our tour guide was lovely and I learned so much and felt so safe! Pick up was easy and the drive was scenic. The restaurant was great that we went to. I would recommend wearing good walking shoes as I stupidly wore flats and that was pretty dangerous Our guide was lovely and professional, full marks for customer service!

Amazing experience

Lee_D, Aug 2024
Stunning natural world heritage site with turquoise lakes and cascading waterfalls. The natural,deep-green forest and flowers are also a highlight of the place. The guide was also perfect.

1 Guide for 33+ people on a crowded Plitvice Park

Yolanda_P, Aug 2024
Beautiful Park that we didn't get enough time to stop and admire. There were more than 33 people with 1 Guide who didn't care whether we were lost in the back of the pack. No Guide at the end of the group. We turned wrong way twice. He was alerted by others that were running behind. He kept going anyway. We didn't get to rest and have bathroom breaks because we kept hurrying up to catch up and lost sight of the group. So many people. The worst Viator tour we ever had. We're world travelers and always book with Viator.

Beautiful park

Desiree_L, Aug 2024
Beautiful park. Park entrance fee is 35 euros cash preferred. Team available to take you between stations. Lots of trails to hike. Sandwiches and drinks available at each station. We stopped for lunch after the hike around 3pm so bring snacks if needed.

Very enjoyable

Marcella_P, Jul 2024
The views of the water were spectacular. Variety of colors. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative. The lunch after was delicious.

This experience is an absolute must!

Salma_M, Jul 2024
Sanja was truly exceptional, demonstrating a high level of professionalism, remarkable patience, and an extraordinary kindness that extended to capturing photos of nearly every group member. Our group was small, consisting of just 14 individuals, and the trip was meticulously organized. The beauty and breathtaking scenery of Plitvice Lakes are beyond description. This experience is an absolute must!

Amazingly Beautiful

David_R, Jul 2024
Unbelievably beautiful park. Sonya was a great guide, providing great information and making sure we together. I wish we had had a bit more time to take in each beautiful site. But in fairness, the trip was already 11 hours long as it was. Overall one of the highlights of our trip.

Great experience

Jennifer_G, Jul 2024
Our tour guid Davi was very educated and a great tour guide. I would highly recommend this tour. Expect a full day as you see upper and lower lakes.

Great tour of Croatia in its nature!

Rhena_B, Jun 2024
Most picturesque waters. So Blue and clear!! The waterfalls were awesome. The guide kept us together and right on point. We were able to see everything and get all the photos we wanted.

Plitvice Lakes - Remarkable!

Paula_M, Jun 2024
The Lakes were amazing, truly a remarkable area. We toured from Zagreb and the journey overall would have been wonderful if not for the constant talking between the driver of the bus and our tour guide in both directions.

A must see!

Phillip_B, Jun 2024
The park was beautiful and lived up to its’ reputation! The stop for late lunch was not needed. Just tell people to bring or buy a snack in the park.

Spectacular

rodica_A, Jun 2024
Professional guide. Excellent experience . Out of this world nature. I recommend to everyone to visit Plitvice and use Viator

A fun day exploring waterfalls

Kitty_F, May 2024
The park is stunningly beautiful and clean! It was fairly crowded although our guide said it was nothing compared to July/August crowds. My buddy and I were amazed at all the boardwalks over water throughout the park and I was sad the part under largest waterfall was under construction so we couldn’t go that way. Our guide was wonderful and enjoyed the traditional lunch at a local restaurant after.

Extremely unreliable tour operator forgot to add me to their list of tourists

Justin_K, May 2024
Terrible tour company - they forgot to add my name to their list. In the morning, all the tour operators have people wait at the central park and come by with a list of names to have them board their car or bus. These buses and cars do not have tour operator names on them and once the list is called, they leave very quickly. By the time 8am (meeting time) came around, everyone had been called except me and the last tour guide did not say I was on their list and just left. I called the number listed on this tour and they said they had not added my name to the list despite seeing my booking and that there was nothing they could do since all the cars and buses had left already. Extremely unreliable tour operator - do not book with them!
