Itinerary

Meet outside your Zagreb accommodation in the morning, and board an air-conditioned minivan destined for the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana. Following a scenic drive with your guide and small group, arrive in the city and stretch your legs on a walking tour of Ljubljana’s historic highlights.

Admire the warren-like Old Town—presided over by the majestic 15th-century Ljubljana Castle and linked to the new town by Triple Bridge (Tromostovje) and Dragon Bridge, and stroll along the picturesque riverside. Gaze at the monuments that decorate Preseren Square (Presernov trg), note masterful creations designed by architect Jože Plečnik, and sample Slovenian staples for lunch (own expense).

Then, continue to the Predjama Castle and Postojna Cave, a 12.5-mile (20-km) cave system famed for its splinter stalactites and native wildlife (admission tickets own expense). Go on a journey past enormous geological formations and learn about the cave's flora and fauna from your guide.

Your tour concludes with a drive back to your Zagreb accommodation.

It was just amazing ! I wasn't expecting this breathtaking view of Bled with the lake, the church on the island, the castle on the Cliff and the mountains in the background. Our guide Dino was cool and gave us a lot of information about Slovenia. I highly recommend !

It was so much fun and what a value for money We had the best tour guide he was fun and enthusiastic about what he was showing us and know about everything. My husband and I have never been on a guided tour before we always go by ourselves but after this we will be doing more. Thank you again. This trip was amazing from start to finish. Our tour guide was very informative and accommodating, teaching us new facts that we did not know when we visited Ljubljana previously. The walking tour was short but sweet, allowing free time to explore the city and get some lunch. This enabled every individual to use the time as they pleased. We then transferred to another bus with a new guide for the cave tour, who was equally knowledgeable and amicable. I would advise bringing some euros to purchase a cheaper cave-castle admission ticket than paying by card. The cave was spectacular; the train added some flair and novelty to the experience. It is very cold inside, so I’d advise bringing a coat, but it was also a nice respite from the outside heat! The cave tour was the perfect length of time, as was the castle. The outside is very impressive and the view of the countryside from inside was picturesque also. I would definitely recommend this trip! :)

They canseled the trip short time before travelling - so there was no trip! No effort to sort the situarion either! Do not recommand you to plan your vacation with this tour, as it appares to us as unprofessional! Also, we then found out the price paied was only for the drive - which can be bought for 1/3 if you go by buss. Going by buss is safe - and will not be cancelled!

We were lucky enough to be the only people on the trip. Antonio was our tour guide and he was amazing, very knowledgeable and full of funny and entertaining stories. We visited the cave first which was beautiful, riding the train was a highlight. We then visited Ljubljana and Antonio gave us a walking tour, pointing out famous monuments and buildings, we then had free time to explore ourselves and met back at a designated spot. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Slovenia, on the tour and with Antonio, would highly recommend and couldn't fault anything. 5*

Be careful while booking this tour in case you have kids

When I was booking this tour in viator it just asked about no of adults in the trip no information about infant or kid was asked. So I booked with information of 2 Adults. Before that I used viator for 4 other bookings where in the no of passenger section it was clearly mentioned about Adult, Infant and Kid.So on the day of pick up they were only allowing only two of us instead of three as in the booking it was mentioned two adults. So we had to drop out of this tour becasue this is not the way to go for vacation where you drop some of the family members and go ahead with trip. The tour organizer mentioned it is my mistake as I have not informed him but how would I inform him when he has not provided me the option in the website. So be careful while booking such kind of trips in Viator also using viator becasue such kind of unprofessional travel organizers are conducting trips under the hood of viator. I have decided not to use viator anymore and also inform my friends about same.

Ljubljana is such a picturesque city, and I Iove that it's so clean and green. Postojna Cave was an amazing sight to behold, plus the train ride was pretty fun too! Dress warm! The cliff castle was fascinating and definitely worth seeing as well. Our guides - Dino and Urban, from Roundabout Travel were both awesome and humorous which made the trip entertaining as well as informative. Definitely a must do esp if you have a day free in Zagreb!

Long but very nice tour that begins...

Long but very nice tour that begins in Zagreb with the company Roundabout picking you wherever you are staying instead of making you to a centralized location. Our group were only 6 then we lost 2 as they realized they needed passports to cross into Slovenia and forgot them, our guide offered to drive back to pick them up, which would have wasted time, so they declined and took a taxi back to the city center. The rest continued to Slovenia. The border took a little bit of time and then it was smooth driving to Ljubljana. Due to the delay with the forgotten passports, waiting for a taxi for them, and the border, we didn't have as much time as I would have wanted in Ljubljana as our guide, Dino, remained with the remaining 3 customers to eat something and then drive to Lake Bled while the tour host, Gabriela, and myself, meet another guide sorry, forgot her name but starts with J and two other clients who were staying in Ljubljana around 13:45 to depart to Postojna. Arrived in time to enter the caves around 15:00 and had a wonderful time in such an impressive setting. The tour inside the cave includes a train ride in an out of the cave and a 1.5 kilometer about a mile walk with a special guide that works at the caves. After nearly 90 minutes the tour concluded and we then joined our Roundabout guide to continue to the very cool Predjama Castle. We arrived a little after 17:00 and saw inside the castle that was built using a cave-mouth as a backdrop. We then drove back to Ljubljana where Gaby and I waited for Dino and the remaining customers to come back from Bled and around 19:30 we departed to Zagreb. I was dropped in my accommodation around 21:15 or so. Long trip but the caves are impressive and the castle was an added bonus to a very good trip.
