It was awesome. Drivers were very knowledgeable and accommodating. We traveled through Stanley Park and China town without having to get off. They answered any question you asked them and were at the pick up sights on time.

I opted for the tram since it goes into stanley park. We stopped at the indigenous area to see the totems. The guide pointed out a lot of interesting sites. Spent most of the afternoon on Granville island shopping & eating good food. A great way to see a lot in 1 day,

Had such a great time on the Hop-On Hop-Off trip! Lynn, tour guide, and Dave, tour driver (I hope got their names right), were both amazing — friendly and engaging. The information Lynn shared at the different sightseeing spots was really interesting and made the tour even more enjoyable. Everything ran smoothly (though it was raining), and it was a fun and relaxing way to explore the city. Highly recommend this tour and the wonderful team behind it! 💯

Extremely dissatisfied

Judith_K, Apr 2026
We were booked for a day when the trolley didn’t even run! Very poor experience! Viator and its partners need to get it together. We are waiting for a full refund. Will be interesting to see how long that takes and if it’s a hassle.

I bought tickets for this activity yesterday and spent one hour waiting for the trolley that NEVER ARRIVED to the stop. I called the company and sent me to voicemail. I wasted over an hour for a tour that I never got. Fortunately the Representative from Viator started the refund process as he wasn’t able to contact the company either.

Trolley tour didn’t exist

Daniel_S, Nov 2025
The trolley tour didn’t exist. Trying to get a refund for it. When we arrived at the scheduled time, it didn’t show. People at information booths in the area told me it is no longer running.

Nice tour. Friendly driver/guide

Hop On Hop Off trolley ride in Vancouver is a nice tour. The driver/tour guide is friendly and informative. It is also convenient if you want to visit a specific site. The time for a complete loop is about 90 minutes.

Personal and Informative

We enjoyed our tour and would recommend it. Staff very helpful and we were greatly impressed with their local knowledge and their helpfulness

No updated schedule left us stranded and walking.

Karen_V, Oct 2025
The schedule was not accurate and because of the holiday nobody mentioned there would not be a bus at the scheduled times. We did not have a guide throughout the whole trip and our driver didn’t say much. We had a great guide on the last portion of the trip but unfortunately after waiting and walking for over an hour to hop back on, some of the members of my trip were too tired to enjoy the experience. We did see a lot more of the competition vehicles pass us by so in the future I might go that route,

Our Canadian Experience

Toni_G, Oct 2025
First time in Vancouver BC. decided to see Vancouver on the Big Bus. Sherry our tour guide was awesome. She was funny, knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. SHE MADE OUR EXPERIENCE ONE TO REMEMBER! She left us at stop 14. Sorry her shift ended. Would have gone around again just to enjoy her company. Now the guy that took over. Not good at all. I was glad our tour was over. SHERRY YOU WERE THE BEST!

Great Experience!

Christine_H, Oct 2025
This was a great way to see the city and I would highly recommend this company!! The stops were in all the must see locations and the drivers/tour guides were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Schedule was pretty reliable, and the trolleys were not over crowded. We were able to get off and explore and then get back on when we wanted to move on to a different part of the city with no trouble and not too long of a wait. 3 trolleys were running the day we were exploring in late September. Tour guide Brandon (I think?) went above and beyond to make sure people knew where they were going when they got off, and how to find their way back to the trolley stop. When we got off at the end of the day we left a small backpack full of shopping items on the trolley. We called right away and one of the employees actually dropped the bag at our hotel shortly after. I thought that was very impressive to go out of their way for us and it was MUCH appreciated.

Not really a 24 hour or even a 10 hour pass Last pickup at 4PM and could not be brought to hop on hop off site near our hotel. More like a 7 hour pass

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Dera James, Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry for any confusion. Our 24-hour pass means that tickets are valid for 24 hours from the time of first use — so guests can continue their tour the next day up until the same time they started on the previous day. Our tours operate daily from 9 AM to 5:30 PM, and guests are welcome to hop on and off throughout those hours. We appreciate your comments and hope this helps clarify how the pass works.

An enjoyable way to see the city and learn about the nature and culture of it. Knowledgeable tour guide and courteous driver. Both very helpful and friendly, including the young woman who assisted us in being at the right place and time to catch the trolley. Stanley Park very beautiful. It's amazing to see the recovery from when I saw it in the Spring of 2007 following the Dec. 15, 2006 storm that took down 10,000 trees, damaged the seawall, and left 250,000 Vancouverians without power. Perhaps the tour guides could include that bit of history in their presentations. Still, a very enjoyable and informative experience! Highly recommend!!

HOHO trolley tour.

Joseph_L, Sep 2025
The city trolley tour driver Chris was very helpful and Tim the tour guide was great also. I liked the trolley better than the big bus with a personal tour guid yiu can ask questions.

We decided to stay on the trolley due to the late time of day. Our tour guide Tim was very personable and knowledgeable. His humorous insight about Vancouver’s history added a great deal to our appreciation of the beautiful city. Chris was an excellent driver?

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Dear Regenia, Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed your tour and that Tim helped make your exploration of Vancouver even more memorable. We hope to welcome you onboard again soon!

I’d recommend it.

sue_p, Sep 2025
A nice overview of the city. Some of the tour guides were better than others. Obviously, when you get off and get back on, you have a different person. But overall, I think it was a nice way to see the city when you don’t have a lot of time!

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Dear Sue, Thank you for your feedback. We’re happy to hear you had a great experience. As you mentioned, each of our tour guides has their own unique style and way of sharing insights about the city. We truly appreciate your recommendation.

Fun, the three different guides and drivers were welcoming, courteous, informative adding personal anecdotes and fun!

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Dear Marthe, Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed the tour and that our guide and drivers helped enhance your trip with their knowledge and unique styles.

Confusing

Michele_R, Sep 2025
This is not the big red bus tour and gives no instructions about where to meet the people or what to do with your luggage. Bus only comes every 40 minutes, every 20 minutes on the “ other brand.”

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Dear Michele, Thank you for your feedback! We apologize for the confusion you experienced in finding the meeting point. We’ll review the instructions on our website to ensure they’re clearer for our guests. Your feedback is very important to us.

Great way to get a feel for the city and landmarks.

David_C, Sep 2025
The open air bus was refreshing and pleasant. Tim the tour narrator was awesome and had the perfect style and humor for giving this tour. He kept the tour entertaining and interesting. We learned a lot and leveraged his jokes and knowledge to our family and friends who joined us through the following days. Great time, thumbs up!

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Dear David, Thank you for your kind words! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed your tour and that Tim enhanced it with his knowledge and unique guiding style. We hope to welcome you back onboard soon!

Avoid this trolley

johnp_m, Sep 2025
We waited 1.5 hours for our first trolley. Tried to call the provider but no answer. Watched four of the competitor’s hop on/off buses go by while waiting. Planned that our first stop would be Granville Island, but decided we didn’t want to be stuck at the unattractive bus stop there with another long wait. People joining the bus there were complaining about the wait. We left the trolley at Gastown (close to our hotel) and did not get on again. Instead took a ferry to Granville Island. Trolley a big waste of time and money that cheated us out of part of our day. Will also mention that the trolley “guide” seemed to know very little about Vancouver architecture, history, etc. All in all a very poor experience.

Waited up to an hour for tram. Not enough trans. Too long. Guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. I would book another service

Good day

Cindy_M, Aug 2025
It gets you around with good tips on what to do at stops and can see around the city. They get thru the traffic safely

Convenient

Steve_L, Aug 2025
A couple of the stops were hard to find once you got off and tried to work your way to a different area, but all in all it was fine. Very convenient to be able to see around the city.

False advertising and frustrating experience

Javier_S, Aug 2025
This experience is not worth your time and money. My family and I — and I’m sure many others — were fooled by the misleading description and seemingly reasonable price. Don’t make the same mistake we did. Firstly, this trolley/bus is not 24 hours as the description implies. It only runs about 6 hours during the day and the trolleys come so infrequently that you’ll waste precious time waiting (and that’s when the trolleys are on schedule). The trolleys often arrive at stops 20-30 minutes later than scheduled, and the “live tracker” is buggy, poorly designed, and unreliable. On top of that, even if you’ve wasted time waiting for a trolley, any ones you catch after 3 pm don’t do the full route anymore. But let me explain this point clearly since the company is either deliberately misleading or too incompetent to explain it well on the website. There are 18 stops on the tour. Based on their description and the concept of a hop on, hop off tour bus, it’s reasonable to assume that if you catch the trolley at any of these 18 stops, you can get off at any of the other 17. That’s only the case for about 4-5 hours of the day. After 3 pm, any trolley you catch can only go as far as stop 1. So if you catch your trolley at stop 16 for example, you can only go three more stops, and can’t reach stops 2-15. That’s a problematic system in itself but it’d be less frustrating if the company actually explained it clearly. Not only do they not explain it, they actively mislead you with their posted scheduled. The final pick up times listed for each stop range from 3:40 pm to 5:25 pm. One would think that any trolleys you catch within this range would make one last complete run through the route and you could hop off at any of the other stops. Wrong — they all end at stop 1. So if you catch the trolley at stop 17 for example and want to go to stop 10, you won’t be able to. They’ll only take you as far as stop 1 and you’ll have to find another mode of transportation from there. For a city that prides itself on being welcoming to tourists, this hop on hop off trolley fails that goal in almost every way. Its description is deceptive and incomplete; the operating time only spans a few hours, making it difficult for visitors’ schedules; and the trolleys themselves are unreliable and inconvenient. The one positive from this hop on hop off trolley is the drivers. Shout out to James, a hard-working, knowledgeable tour guide who knows all there is to know about Vancouver. He explains everything clearly, is very approachable, and makes every rider feel comfortable and at ease. It’s too bad his talents are being wasted at this hop on hop off trolley. For other tourists in Vancouver looking to explore and learn about the city, find an alternative to this trolley.

We'd do it again with these folks

DALE_S, Aug 2025
Tim, the tour guide on our bus was top notch. He knew something about everything we saw and he shared a lot of experience as a local guy. The driver, James, went above and beyond as a driver and actually took us to some areas off the regular tour path because our bus was running ahead of schedule and needed to burn some time. Great way to see Vancouver!
