What To Expect
Escape from Vancouver for a few hours with a visit to Grouse Mountain — a year-round theme park celebrating the outdoor and cultural heritage of British Columbia. Get up close and personal with some of the region's incredible wildlife and enjoy fun shows, rides and exhibits, all set among the beautiful forests near Vancouver.
Start your visit by making your own way to Grouse Mountain, located just 8 miles (13km) from Vancouver at your leisure. The park is open from 9am to 9pm daily. Upon arrival at the park make your way up on the Skyride, spending as much time as you like enjoying the diverse activities and shows on offer. You can also add in additional park activities including mountain ropes and ziplining at your own expense.
Your purchase of the "Peak Experience" ticket offers access to a variety of Grouse Mountain amenities. Check out the 45-minute Lumberjack Show, performed in a 1900s-style logging camp. Or head to the Birds in Motion show, where you can observe these graceful aviary hunters as they soar through the air. Meanwhile over at the Wildlife Refuge, a ranger gives talks about the region's indigenous species including bears and other alpine creatures. During summer you can also take a trip on the Peak Chairlift, a summer attraction offering bird's-eye views of the mountain via an on-site ski lift.
During the winter you'll also enjoying ice skating at the park's outdoor rink, sleigh rides and trails for snowshoeing. A December "Peak of Christmas" celebration helps add to the holiday spirit.
Whatever time of year you visit, you admission also includes nature movies at the Theatre in the Sky, Peak Chalet access and round-trips on the Skyride, a 1-mile (1.6km) aerial tram offering sublime views of the surrounding area.

Since I love Grizzly Bears, I really enjoyed seeing Grinder and Coola chilling and taking in the beauty day it was. The Grizzly talk was very good and knowledgeable.

Loved the ride. Discount was great getting the tickets early. It’s very easy to get around and people are all around you to help.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Hi Sarah,
Thank you for your review! I am glad you had a great time, and that it was easy to get around the mountain. We hope to see you back at the Peak of Vancouver soon!

This was such a great experience! If you’re looking for something close to do in Vancouver i highly recommend purchasing your ticket through Viator from here! It saves you money and you still get the full experience as a regular admission!

Hi Katherine, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! Happy to hear that you had a good time, and we hope to welcome you back soon!

Amazing Gondola ride. Good thing we watched the weather and went early morning to avoid the clouds/fog. If it was cloudy, you wouldn't be able to see anything. At the top we enjoyed looking around the Observation facility and doing the "Light Walk" trail. Lots of skiers and snowboarders at the top. Fun environment.
One complaint: the original date we were scheduled for was way too foggy and rainy. We asked Viator if we could switch the ticket to the next day, and they wrote back to say they reached out to the tour operator and that it wouldn't be possible. But, when I went to the counter at the facility and asked them directly, they were perfectly happy to switch the ticket date to the next day (which was so much better). So, not thrilled with Viator customer service there. Good thing I asked at the desk directly.

We lucked out the rain prior days made up the mountain very powdery. Since we lacked gear(clothes) we only did the outdoor ice skating as well as the light walk.

It was beautiful the ride to the top of the mountain everything set up up there. The only thing is I took over up and there was no reception to get Uber to go down so I had to ended up taking a city bus which is fine. save me a lot of money and then I’ll run.
Joy_O, Nov 2025
It was grrrrrreeeat! Nice view from the top and the ride was smooth. We had dinner and saw a squirrel "break-in" into the restaurant. Hahaha

Fantastic, specially if the day is clear. Great value for money. Loved the Bears Coola and Grinder.. so special.

Hi Junita, Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review! We hope to see you again soon!

There is a beautiful view from top and the log show [ same one for ten years] is fun to watch. However this is the most over rated place to buy a souvenir, most prices are double or even triple what is r3easonable. Most people spend a minute or so in there looking and leave. that explains why the place is empty.
Tony_G, Sep 2025
Sadly the day we went it was shrouded in cloud so no spectacular view for us. We did however get up close to the grizzly bears Cooler and Grinder, saw an excellent lumberjack show and raptor display. On a clear day I expect it would be spectacular.

Fun ride to top of mountain. Good free shows. Has restaurant, but bbq and brews was closed, that was a disappointment.
Jeffrey_P, Aug 2025
The tickets purchased on-line did not allow access to the tram. It still required that you stand in line to exchange the on-line ticket for one that could be scanned.
Sunada_B, Aug 2025
We were so lucky to have a clear day which delivered some amazing views! I have a fear of heights, but I would do it again. So worth it! And the free round trip shuttle from the Cruise ship terminal Canada Station was a plus.
Stephanie_C, Aug 2025
Smooth ride to the top, gorgeous scenery, we had lots of fog that morning, but it didn’t diminish the experience at all. The lumberjack show was great fun!
It was a bit tough finding what we needed to know based on poor signage, but other than that, wonderful.
KrisAnn_P, Jul 2025
Excellent experience! Highly recommend and a great value. All 9 of us loved it! A gondola ride, an additional sky ride, a lumberjack show and a birds of prey show all included. Zip lining and a kids adventure additional. Several places to eat and a gift shops!

A must do on a summer visit to Vancouver. Beautiful views and activities. We especially loved the 🦅

Amazing walking up a mountain in the snow. It was a very foggy day but you can’t help that but being up there in the snow was just spectacular.
Dawn_P, Feb 2025
So glad we booked this experience on our short trip to Vancouver! We took an Uber to the mountain from our stay downtown which was simple. After a quick exchange of our voucher for tickets at Guest Services, we rode the new 8-person Gondolas up the mountain to the chalet for an excellent lunch with poutine and boozy hot chocolate. As non-skiiers, we enjoyed that there were other activities available like ice skating and a sleigh ride! The lightwalk was closed when we got there due to the icy conditions, but we enjoyed the scenery and softly falling snow so much that we didn't mind. After that, we took in a few short films in the movie theater and rode the gondola back down. It was very simple to get an Uber back downtown as a few were in the area. Overall, we really enjoyed the day and would absolutely recommend!

Beautiful place, amazing panorama and nice transport via gondola. We approached the entrance by public transportation, to avoid the trafic and parking issue.
Katherine_G, Jan 2025
A lovely day trip to the snow - you can ice skate, ski, snowboard or sled. They have a great restaurant chalet on top as well. Just make sure to check the weather and dress accordingly!

When I was up inside the train,it was raining and very foggy, too bad that I couldn’t see anything out there while I was climbing up and down on the way,the train doesn’t equipped with windshield wipers, otherwise I could see a lot better since Vancouver has raining season. The train operator was very friendly and nice,I had an unforgettable time

Picked up free shuttle bus from Canada place to cable car. On top of mountain rangers give various talks about the animals standouts being the bears and a birds of prey show. Throughly enjoyed the lumberjack show. A great place to visit when in Vancouver.
salma_w, Sep 2024
Everything was amazing from gandola ride, chair lift, and first time looking at grizzly bear and view
Jenny_D, Sep 2024
The trip up in the gondola was fogged in, but trip down was clear with spectacular views of Vancouver. Grinder and Coola were special, and the movies shown in the theatre about them and the park were very informative.
Bev_W, Sep 2024
We had a great day at grouse mountain we took the free shuttle there and back really enjoyed and the weather was perfect
Linda_H, Sep 2024
Always so easy booking through Viator. Helpful in answering questions immediately. Personal service at its best!
Vanessa_B, Aug 2024
Tickets must be exchanged for gondola passes at Guest Relations on arrival. Go to see the grizzly bears - they are amazing!
Tuula_K, Aug 2024
Buying tickets through Viator simply means you get a voucher! You still have to stand in line to get your actual ticket! No time or savings cost!
B_H, Aug 2024
The Lumberjack Show was delightful and the grizzly bears impressive. We enjoyed hiking up to one of the summits and then we took the ski lift up to the windmill.
We only saw one grouse the entire day, though.
