What To Expect
Escape from Vancouver for a few hours with a visit to Grouse Mountain — a year-round theme park celebrating the outdoor and cultural heritage of British Columbia. Get up close and personal with some of the region's incredible wildlife and enjoy fun shows, rides and exhibits, all set among the beautiful forests near Vancouver.
Start your visit by making your own way to Grouse Mountain, located just 8 miles (13km) from Vancouver at your leisure. The park is open from 9am to 9pm daily. Upon arrival at the park make your way up on the Skyride, spending as much time as you like enjoying the diverse activities and shows on offer. You can also add in additional park activities including mountain ropes and ziplining at your own expense.
Your purchase of the "Peak Experience" ticket offers access to a variety of Grouse Mountain amenities. Check out the 45-minute Lumberjack Show, performed in a 1900s-style logging camp. Or head to the Birds in Motion show, where you can observe these graceful aviary hunters as they soar through the air. Meanwhile over at the Wildlife Refuge, a ranger gives talks about the region's indigenous species including bears and other alpine creatures. During summer you can also take a trip on the Peak Chairlift, a summer attraction offering bird's-eye views of the mountain via an on-site ski lift.
During the winter you'll also enjoying ice skating at the park's outdoor rink, sleigh rides and trails for snowshoeing. A December "Peak of Christmas" celebration helps add to the holiday spirit.
Whatever time of year you visit, you admission also includes nature movies at the Theatre in the Sky, Peak Chalet access and round-trips on the Skyride, a 1-mile (1.6km) aerial tram offering sublime views of the surrounding area.

The ride up the mountain gave beautiful views of Vancouver. The Birds of Prey talk was great! Such beautiful birds. The speaker was very knowledgeable, too. We actually went to Grouse Mountain for the Lumberjack Show but the Birds of Prey presentation was phenomenal! The Lumberjack Show was pretty cheesy but the actors were fun to watch.

Omg this place was amazing! We were in a hotel near so we just took an Uber. Much cheaper and faster-The shuttle would have cost more to travel into Canada place and you have to follow that schedule.
The mountain had free shows including a lumber jack, and birds of prey: both were great and very entertaining. We took the ski lift up to the very highest point awesome views but nothing much once you get up there.
The restaurant Altitudes Bistro is a must it’s located upstairs in the first building on the left once you get up the gondola. Ask for Erin she is amazing and totally goes beyond wonderful customer service!!
The food was wonderful and delicious and not over priced too!
We all enjoyed the visit and highly recommend it.
Lots of trails and lots of walking involved.

If you can actively walk you will be good. My aunt, age 70, cant walk long distances and not hills. I should have thought of that.

Awesome experience. My kids had a blast. Great views, rides and show. The hot chocolate was delicious for the cold rainy weather. Thank you. Will come back again.

A bit of walking to get around,
A beautiful day full of fun and excitement with limber show bird of flight show, plus many extras. The BBQ was wonderful- highly recommended it.

Having bought tickets via Viator we expected a smooth ticket validation through the visitor centre, however, the queue to validate our tickets was not separate from that for people who were buying tickets. Altough the queue wasn't that long (maybe 30 people) It took an hour. It was painful!!
Once through we got into a short queue to ride the red gondola but the queue didn't seem to move although the gondola was at the station. So, after 15 minutes we moved to the longer blue gondola queue which moved very quickly and efficiently, in fact we were through in 5 minutes.
The ride on the blue gondola was fantastic and once at the top we had a great ride on the ski chairs and on the way down saw the bear. These were the highlights of the trip.
We visited the cafe and had a great view from the terrace.
The staff throughout the visit were friendly and enthusiastic.
Great place to visit, shame about the ticket organisation.
The free shuttle from Canada Place made the trip easy.

It is a great experience. They have
Golf carts to drive you around if you struggle to walk. The woodcutter show was great with alot of humor and interesting facts. There is alot of areas to visit for the whole Family

Get a show schedule, because they have two awesome shows, the lumber Jack show and the Bird show, don't miss it.. And for food they have the Rusty Rail BBQ.. Great burgers and BBQ beans, free ice cold water, but no fries or BBQ 😧 Also they have steep walking trails and the coaster ride for the courageous..
Maria_L, Aug 2026
Wonderful experience riding up the mountain on the gondola. Loved the attractions at the top. Enjoyed the Lumber Jack show, very entertaining! Enjoyed seeing the bear and listening about his history at the park.
Kris_N, Aug 2026
Beautiful scenery at the top if you want to see all of Vancouver and the water this is a place to go!
Kori_S, Aug 2026
We spent a glorious, albeit humid, day on the mountain. The gravity coaster was well worth the extra cost, and the zip line offered some amazing views. The owl talk was brilliant. All the staff we encountered were pleasant and very helpful. Food was a bit pricey, but that's to be expected. Parking was decent earlier in the day, but very busy after lunch. I recommend taking your own snacks and water...lots of water. Buying tickets through Viator saved us quite a bit! And earned us great discounts for other adventures through Viator. Totally recommend both Viator and Grouse Mountain for a fab day out.
Dorothy_P, Aug 2026
Easy Shuttle pickup spots and easy to exchange vouchers for tickets. Highly recommend going ALL the way to the top on the ski lift after gondola ride. Beautiful view!
Lonnie_R, Aug 2026
There is so much to do on Grouse mtn. There is hiking, gondola trips, great views, zip line, bears, etc, etc... I had no idea what i was in for when I visited. And there is even free bus transportation to and from there man from the waterfront.
Erika_B, Aug 2026
Easy to book and it was easy to navigate. Transportation from downtown Vancouver was really convenient and easy.
Melissa_F, Aug 2026
The experience was excellent. Should be aware that Viator ticket requires you to still queue at ticket office to get actual ticket. The Viator booking is just a voucher. That is a problem if it is busy. And it does get busy.
Maria_W, Aug 2026
Cheaper through Viator- we had a lot of fun! Lots to do at the top of the mountain. Beautiful scenery.
Roman_M, Aug 2026
Grouse Mountain is pretty cool. Good nature talks, eco tour around the property and the roller coaster was fun
Sharon_L, Aug 2026
The trip to the mountain is well worth the money.
Lots to do to keep you amused. The lumberjack show was brilliant and the views are stunning.
Jeffrey_M, Aug 2026
A pleasant excursion to the top of a mountain overlooking Vancouver. Good views of the ships dotting English Harbor and the skyscrapers of Downtown Vancouver.
Marvin_M, Aug 2026
Expect to see amazing sights once you reach the top of the gondola. Take the sky lift for a better view of Vancouver. Breathtaking!
kenneth_S, Aug 2026
This is an amusement park essentially. There are limited events and the emphasis from my perspective is the view and some excellent hiking.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Hi Kenneth,
Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the view and natural space that the mountain has to offer.
Spencer_A, Aug 2026
Bring sunscreen and wear good walking shoes!!!
The map they give isn't very precise, and I had a bit of difficulty locating a couple of the activities.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Hi Spencer,
Thank you for your review, and for your suggestion on what's to bring on your visit!
We also appreciate your feedback on the readability of the map, and will pass it along to our management team.

My family and I spent a July afternoon at Grouse Mountain. We rode up on the Red Skyride and had lunch at the Altitudes Bistro. Service was slow but the beer, burgers and sandwiches were good. We took the Peak Chairlift to the top of the mountain. The view was absolutely spectacular from there. We took the Blue Gondola back down to the parking area. We were saddened to learn that Grinder, a grizzly bear, had been euthanized earlier that morning due to a spinal condition.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Hi Rita,
Thank you for your review! We're happy to hear that you enjoyed the food and views from the mountain.
We also appreciate your kind words on the difficult loss of one of our resident grizzly bears, Grinder, who will be deeply missed by everyone at Grouse.
Abinaya_I, Aug 2026
It was such a cool experience. Make sure to bring a jacket. Loved ziplining and the chairlift. Will definitely come back!
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Hi there,
Thank you for your review, and for the tip to bring on extra layers! The mountaintop can definitely get slightly colder than the city level.
We're happy to hear that you enjoyed the actitivies, and hope to welcome you back soon!
Charlene_P, Jul 2026
It was absolutely amazing experience.. the lumberjack show gave me a heart attack...😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣 the grizzly bear was resting so couldn't see it but all in all great view from the top and can see vancouver.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Hi there,
Thank you for your review! Glad to hear that you had a great time watching our Lumberjack Show, and got to see the views from the mountaintop.
Judy_L, Jul 2026
We had a great time at Grouse Mountain! The weather improved and we had great views as well as fun shows. We were able to see the bears who were separated, actually communicate with each other (talking at the fence!). It was quite cool.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Hi Judy,
Thank you for your review! We're happy to hear that you got to enjoy the views and activities at Grouse, and got to see your resident grizzlies Coola and Grinder!
John_M, Jul 2026
Smooth rides up and down via the red or blue gondolas. Blue was preferred due to the size of our group (6 riders). Great views of the Vancouver area. Ride to the peak via a nice and slow ski lift for even better views of the area.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Hi John,
Thank you for your review! Glad you enjoyed the ride up and the views at Grouse!
rittuk, Jul 2026
Our tour guide Jay was great. However, the van he was driving did not have a working A/C system which made the long ride to and from Whistler very hot and uncomfortable. For the price I paid, I would expect the van to have a proper working A/C system for a comfortable ride on a hot July day.
SHAWNA_M, Jul 2026
Good experience but I think it's overly priced for what's offered once you get up the mountain. The best part was probably the lumberjack and owl shows. The coaster was great too but shouldn't be an extra fee. Definitely wouldn't go up again
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Hi Shawn,
Thank you for taking the time to share your review with us.
We are glad that you enjoyed the shows, and appreciate your feedback on the costs.
Maria_M, Jul 2026
We thought the gondola was good-nice views and easy to access. Once we arrived at the top we were less than impressed. The bear sanctuary didn’t have a lot of places where you could see the bears. We did see one bear laying in the water but it was difficult to find an opening in the viewing area where we could get a peek. The place where the lumberjack show was held was in the full sun with no options for shade. It was 90 degrees and we opted not to stay because we were so hot in the sun. It isn’t something we would chose to do again.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
