The experience was very good. Miss Fio was a very good guide. She was very knowledgeable and very good with the 14 or so people who were in our group.
Susan_A, Jun 2026
Daniel was a wonderful guide. He made for a light hearted and informative tour. We really felt like we knew Vancouver after this tour. He also gave us some fantastic tips on places to explore, bars, cafes etc to go to.
Jonathan_C, Jun 2026
Great walking tour, very informational
The guide Miss Fio was excellent.
The Library rooftop garden was really nice. We enjoyed this and would do it again.
Paul_C, Jun 2026
Reasonably interesting tour but a bit disappointing. The guide's English was sometimes difficult to understand (not her first language), and some topics covered were not especially relevant to the history and development of Vancouver.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for your feedback. We are glad the tour was interesting, but we apologize for the language barrier and that the topics didn't fully hit the mark on Vancouver's development. We want our history to be clear and deeply relevant, so we will review this with our guiding team to ensure our narratives and communication meet that high standard. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip

Very thorough discussion on stops. Would like an opportunity to take a break to get coffee or water. Would also suggest stopping to talk near somewhere that people can sit. The walking isn’t too much but the standing is hard. Our guide Monika was very kind and knowledgeable.
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you so much for the feedback! We are thrilled to hear that you found Monika to be such a kind and knowledgeable guide.
We truly appreciate you sharing your thoughts on the pacing and logistics. You are absolutely right—while the walking distance may be manageable, the 'standing still' aspect can definitely be challenging. We are always looking for ways to improve the guest experience, and your suggestion to incorporate more 'seated' stops for narration and a quick break for refreshments is incredibly helpful. We will be reviewing our route stops to identify more locations where our guests can relax and sit while they listen.
We will be sure to pass your praise along to Monika—she will be so happy to know you enjoyed her company. Thank you for helping us make our tours even better.

It was a wonderful and very informative walk about town. Excellent guide. He provided background history made sure people were comfortable and reassigned to any question by the group. Best guided tour in sometime.

We’ll be sure to pass your kind words along to our guide—he will be thrilled to know he made your visit so memorable! We hope to see you again on another adventure soon.

It is a walking tour around downtown Vancouver, mostly level with only a few steep places (hill and steps). It might be a bit too much for anyone with mobility issues. The guide led the group with a good pace, not too fast. Each stop was timed just right for a break. The city’s landmarks chosen for this tour were varied, covering history and present day information about Vancouver, from sports, business, culture and arts, early settlement, well-known individuals that helped shape the city that it is today. It was the perfect introduction… Our guide suggested what all there was to see and do, which was very helpful. I highly recommend doing this tour to start one’s Vancouver adventure.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thank you so much for the thoughtful and detailed review! We’re glad you found the pace comfortable and appreciated the timing of the stops along the way. It’s also helpful that you mentioned the terrain, as that can certainly assist future guests in planning ahead.
We’re thrilled you enjoyed the variety of landmarks and the mix of history and present-day insights—from sports and business to culture, early settlement, and the individuals who helped shape Vancouver. It’s wonderful to hear it was the perfect introduction to the city and that the recommendations were helpful for the rest of your stay.
Thank you for the high recommendation—we hope to see you again on your next Vancouver adventure!

Fiorella is an amazing guide. Very knowledgeable about the history, kind, friendly, and funny! It was a very accessible pace and only a few slight hills but very doable for young and old. Vancouver is so lovely and full of history, so we fully recommend an organized tour to ensure you see as much as you can in 3 short hours.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear you had such a great experience with FIorella. She’ll be so happy to know you appreciated her knowledge, kindness, and sense of humor.
It’s great to hear the pace felt accessible for everyone and that you enjoyed discovering how lovely and history-filled Vancouver is. We truly appreciate the recommendation and are so glad the tour helped you make the most of your three hours. We hope to welcome you back again soon!
DavidRoss_R, Nov 2025
Easy walking tour but a bit lacking in seating for people like me with back and knee problems.
Information given on many of the buildings very interesting.
Only part that was poor was the information at the War Memorial Park was very uninformed, especially about Canadas contribution to the Allied cause and ignoring Canadas membership of tha Commonwealth.
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback with us. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the walk and found the information about the buildings interesting. We also truly appreciate your note regarding seating availability; we understand how important this is for guests with back or knee concerns, and we will review this to see how we can better support our visitors in the future.
Regarding the War Memorial Park, we’re sorry to hear that the information provided didn’t meet your expectations. Canada’s role in the Allied efforts and its history within the Commonwealth are deeply important, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Although our tours are designed to offer a broad overview for guests from many different backgrounds, we will review this section with our guiding team to ensure the information remains accurate, respectful, and well-rounded.
Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback. It truly helps us continue improving. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for an even better experience in the future.

We actually never got on the tour. We had a terrible time finding the meeting spot. The building is very large and by the time we found our way to the meeting spot the tour had left. We never met the tour operator. I did send a message saying we had gotten lost and didn’t make it. Could we meet them at the next stop but I didn’t hear from them. I’m not surprised about that. I’m sure they were busy. It would have been nice if in such a big building to meet at that the directions could have been more concise with pictures of the meeting spot. We did go to the second stop on the tour to try to find them but didn’t find them there either.
Response from Host, Sep 2025

Eric_F, Jul 2025
While I’m confident this tour has the potential to be both engaging and informative, our particular experience fell short. The guide assigned to our group struggled to communicate effectively—she spoke softly, lacked fluency, and did not present in a professional manner. When another couple politely asked if she could speak up, they were told to move closer; they ultimately chose to leave the tour.
Despite being a walking tour, we remained at the first stop for approximately 20 minutes, during which the information shared was minimal and not particularly compelling. Additionally, the guide referenced a suggested tip amount, attributing it to company policy, which felt uncomfortable and inappropriate under the circumstances.
Having just returned from an Alaskan cruise with exceptional guides who combined education with humor, this tour unfortunately lacked both. I sincerely hope this was an isolated case and not reflective of the company as a whole, but this was our honest experience.
Response from Host, Jul 2025
Dear Eric, thank you for this honest review and your valuable feedback. We will connect with our team in Vancouver, and your tour guide in particular, to bring these concerns and see how we can improve them. We're so sorry that our experience fell short of expectations. We'd greatly appreciate the opportunity to provide you with a much better experience in the future. Please send us an email to admin@toonietours.ca, and we will issue you a gift card for a future tour.
Best regards,
Nathan Murdoch

We booked a 10:30 English tour over a month in advance only to have no one show up and meet us. It was difficult to reach the tour operator to sort out the mess. I wouldn’t recommend this tour operator.
