The BEST way to see the sunrise at Mt Batur

Forget all other ways to see the sunrises from Mount Batur. This activity has fun and an amazing view all wrapped into one. We were away from all the other jeeps (and there was tons of them) and had our own little area to ourselves to watch the sunrise. The staff helped us take tons of amazing photos (they are seriously skilled photographers and went above and beyond to get the perfect picture for us) on our phones or cameras. Special mention goes to Ode who picked us up from our accomodation in Ubud. Ode then brought us to the Luwak coffee plantation on the way back to our villa where we got to actually pet a Luwak/Civet. Ode also accommodated us when we wanted to stop to get some local fruits and even helped us translate with the store owner. All in all just an amazing tour/activity with the nicest guides you will ever meet. Just remember to bring a warm jacket, gloves and maybe a beanie. It’s really cold up there (i reckon it was in the low 10s in Celsius).

Great fun experience, worth the early wake up! The simple breakfast was tasty and the guides helped take pictures, if riding tandem (2 people) you feel safer as the driver then as a passenger. Our driver Resia was very accommodating.
