I can’t say enough good thing about our trip. Marcin our guide is so attentive. We go hot drinks food, food and bonfire to keep us warm. We declined extra clothing but it was prepared for us if we need it. We saw so many auroras and he took beautiful photos of our group. We enjoyed every minutes of our trip. I highly recommend his services. The forest, mountains landscape highlighted by the dancing auroras simmering in the sky and behind the mountains. I felt spiritually connected and my mouth was agasp, in awe at its wonder. The ice crystals covered the branches and trees were beautiful reflecting the dim lights. The skies were covered by multitudes of stars. Words cannot do justice to this nature’s wonder. This place feels so magical.

The tour guide, Mat, is a well informed and a very lively person. He made all efforts to make us the best of the tour.

Great small group tour (in a personal car, not bus or van)

    Dori_T, Nov 2024
Our guide, Damien, picked us up in a car. Little confusing, bc the info noted a small van or bus. There was only 2 of us, and another car/guide followed us with 3 people. I’m not sure what would have happened if the group had 4 people.. seems they would have been a little squished in the car. But, we were comfortable with being only 2… first we drove to a convenient store to get the snacks the tour indicated we would receive and then we were off. Guide did spend time on the phone, but mostly bc he was getting updates about weather in different areas. The weather was not great for the lights- it was rainy and windy. He did drive to a few spots were we didn’t see anything. But, finally, as we were driving along, he did see them and we pulled over quickly. Didn’t see them for long, but we did see them. Damien took our pics with the lights, and of the lights themselves so we could just enjoy the sight. Afterward, the guides did build a small fire and we chatted with the group from the 2nd car, which was nice. Very small, intimate group so felt like we were alone in the world in a beautiful setting overhead. Offered some cocco/coffee while we were in front of fire as well. Then headed home.. out stops offered on way home since car obviously didn’t have a bathroom. Driven straight to our hotel for drop off.

    Wouldn’t book again

Booked this tour as it had lots of great reviews originally when we booked it. We were really disappointed, we got picked up 3 hours after start time which we thought was due to weather but now we are not so sure. The guide was nice and friendly but we were picked up in a small cramped Audi where we had to squeeze in the back with another couple. We couldn’t even fasten our seatbelts properly and were literally sitting on top of each other. The middle seat doesn’t even feel like a middle seat and the lucky middle person gets to spend hours with no where to put there legs. The driver also didn’t drive very safely. The only saving grace of this tour was the other couple being so nice otherwise it would have been extremely awkward. The tour should have been cancelled as they said 100% cloud cover but it wasn’t and now we are out of pocket. Book another tour, not this one.

    Great experience

We had a wonderful time! Our guide took us off the beaten path to a spot that was perfect for aurora viewing. He was friendly and informative. We did see the aurora for a short time during a break in the clouds.

    Tiny car, but nice tour

    Jenna_W, Oct 2024
Really small car for 5 people (4 guests and the driver), but nice tour. We did get to see the Northern Lights through our camera only. Had hot chocolate.

    Aurora tour

    Peter_A, Oct 2024
Not what was described in the advertising, tour in a car, haphazard stops, little information given, no snacks, no photography help, clothing poor, cold and not worth the money.

DO NOT BOOK! $424 down the drain. Thought we were going to die. Instead, my clothes smell of cigarette smoke

    Don_L, Oct 2024
I don’t like to leave bad reviews, but this spend of $424 was a horrible waste! - driver picked us up 2 hrs after ‘starting time’ (because he has another job) - driver would drive in the middle of the road, and only go back into the proper lane when oncoming traffic was approaching - driver turned off headlights, stopped in the middle of the road, rolled down the window, and stare upwards… until there was oncoming traffic - I booked this because it said there would be a tripod provided and photos taken… none of this provided or offered. - We barely drove outside Tromso (maybe 20km). (We went further out of town for the reindeer feeding trip) We understand that the clouds can prevent you from seeing the aurora, but there was no ‘hunt’… just a drive to where he had seen them before… with his lights off… a ditch on one side of the road, and a drop off with the cold waters of the fiord on the other side. He also showed us beautiful pictures where *other guides* took their groups… “but they are far away from here” About 12:30am, he determined that our drive was complete and dropped us off at the hotel by 1…. Terribly disappointed, and feeling lucky to be alive :(

It's sad what you're writing, but none of your attempts at blackmail will result in us refunding your money for not seeing the Northern Lights. Our company has never encountered such slander. There was a storm and difficult conditions, so the guide had no way to light a fire. You stopped in two places, then you took a 15-minute walk in the mountains in search of the Northern Lights. Very, very often the guide got out of the car. He prepared chicken wraps for you, you got hot chocolate and cookies, clearly you were very happy during the experience. There were indeed no Northern Lights, but it was obviously not our fault. It is a natural phenomenon beyond our control, nonetheless, what is guaranteed and was done by the guide is going to the furthest extent of his abilities to try and catch the lights, naturally including the entire adventurous and leisure part. The guide was not driving fast, he is an exceptionally careful driver. The guide was also nice enough to take your glasses, left in the car during the tour, to your hotel the next day. It's hard to believe in such extreme feelings about the trip on your part: during the trip you were absolutely satisfied, but the above opinion shows the complete opposite, which undermines the credibility of the statements that you've made.

Big rip off do not go with this operator

    Mary_N, Sep 2024
Not a good experience. Small vehicle for 4 adults. Three people in small back seat. No introduction by the guide about his experience etc. and difficult to understand. Talked about Poland and cost of living in Tromso, nothing relevant to the tour. We spent most of our time squashed into the car or pulled off on random spots along the road. Some of which were unsafe. Not seeing the Aurora Borealis was frustrating, the guide was constantly checking his phone app for location help. We were supposed to tour on the night before but when asked by the operator to go a day later we said ok. Wish we had’t. Also wanted to go at 9 vs. 7. Did not receive any tour offerings other than cold weather suit and hot water for instant coffee or tea. Very disappointed and would never do this again.

    Response from Host, Sep 2024

We understand that the trip might’ve not met the expectations, as the northern lights weren’t visible that night, we are also truly sorry to hear that the experience is described this way. The change of the starting time was caused by the brightness which is for now still present at 7pm in September in Norway, which could definitely unable us to see the phenomenon. The second change mentioned, of the day of the trip, that was entirely up to our guests, we informed about the possibility to go the next day to have the whole group, or the other option was to get a full refund as we didn’t have enough bookings for that night, the decision was to postpone the trip. As for the snacks, we most certainly did offer those, in the form of cookies, for the guests. The fact that our employee discussed with the guests the topic of Poland and the costs of living in Tromso is true, as the discussion developes live during the experience, the guests require various information from our professionals, very often non-related to the topic of the natural phenomenon of the aurora borealis. That, on the other hand, was also explained: what colors can be seen, how they get created, and the chemical background of the lights. Our guide has gotten into a lively conversation comparing the realities in the countries somehow connected to the guests, meaning the US and Poland, as a result of that he took the clients to a popular convenience store of which the opening hours where a big surprise to the tourists. That was from his own initiative, as our guides go to the furthest extent to make our guests happy with the adventure. Hopefully we will be able to catch the northern lights next time, since the visibility of those is never guaranteed, nonetheless, the unforgettable experience we provide is.

    Amazing tour

    MariaEduarda_M, Apr 2024
We had a great experience on this tour! Martin was an excellent guide and with his knowledge and experience, even though the weather wasn’t great, he took us to locations with clear skies where we got to see the aurora perfectly! He also was helpful with tips in photography and made us memorable photos! At the end of the tour he also prepared a bonfire and gave us snacks. We went on a big bus tour the day before but it isn’t anyway interesting and personalised as this tour here.

    Felt like a scam

    shawn_g, Mar 2024
I was unfortunately scammed using this company. This is advertised as a small group aurora chase with a highly experienced guide that will take you to some of the best spots to capture aurora photos and enjoy the phenomenon. We expected an experienced guide and comfortable vehicle to take us to a few good spots to photograph the aurora. Instead, for $220 per person we were crushed into the 3-seat back of a tiny Audi A3 with another couple and a guide that had no idea where the good observing sites were. The guide pulled off randomly on unsafe road shoulders to trek us over creeks and thin ice to rocky or slippery areas to photograph from. Areas where tripod setup was almost impossible. Meanwhile, we passed several larger van tours using accessible, safe and tripod-friendly spots for aurora viewing/photography. The saddest part - the auroras were extremely active that night and there were no clouds. If only we had a decent guide and good tripod setup spots (literally the company’s only job in this case) we could have easily captured amazing photos. Instead I would have been better off hiking somewhere by Tromsø to watch the lights.

Incredible lights experience!!! Photos are WOW!

    Emma_G, Mar 2024
We had an AMAZING time on this tour. Our tour guide was so friendly and so knowledgeable! Our guide worked very hard with us and the weather to determine the perfect spot. After searching for a bit, we were able to find a spot and had a beautiful light show!! We were speechless! She took the most WONDERFUL photos of us— we will cherish the pictures forever!!!! They are unreal! We would recommend this tour to anyone! It was also so nice to be picked up and dropped off at your accommodation, many tours do not do this. We loved the small size of the group, it made it easy to work with others and the tour guide. Thank you all! Amazing!

    Fabulous Aurora Experience

    Joanne_S, Mar 2024
Greats stops, great photo advice, great pics of us with Northern Lights, clean cars, on time pickup - what to say, everything was perfect. Of course, it helped that the lights were out and dancing for us in all locations, but Martyna and Martin engineered the rest to perfection - including crampons for icy car parks and tripods for great pics. Would absolutely recommend this team to anyone looking to enjoy the aurora!

Do not take this tour! Horrible scam experience!

    Lisa_C, Mar 2024
Absolutely horrible experience. The guide did no guiding and so looks almost no English and they did not take us to any of the right places to see the northern lights like the other Tromso tours. They also completely photoshopped the pictures. It was all a huge scam!!!

    Excellent!

    Soly_H, Mar 2024
We started this tour in very challenging circumstances, as we had experienced a very rare and most spectacular aurora display the nite before and had very low expectations from this tour. And then came Martin. Suffice it to say that he turned our evening (we were two couples) into a no less memorable experience. His courtesy, knowledge, relentless efforts to share knowledge and to help with the photography, as well as the pleasant demeanour that accompanied it all were greatly appreciated. Simply excellent.

    Great small tour!

    Ari_K, Mar 2024
While we only saw a very limited amount of the Aurora, that was a result of cloud cover and does not speak to our guide's competence, nor a lack of effort. Martyna was kind, had a good plan and clearly communicated with us at all times. It was a comfortable and well run tour!

    Great experience

    Jodie_H, Feb 2024
Great night however we didn’t see the lights. Fantastic group of people & guides with a nice environment in the cold with a fire to keep us warm whilst waiting patiently.

Martin is the greatest guide in Tromso!

    Asher_F, Feb 2024
Our guide, Martin, was the ABSOLUTE BEST!!! This was the third tour we went on in Tromso and Martin was, by far, the best guide we had. He was super knowledgeable, incredibly nice, and did everything possible to ensure we caught a glimpse of the Northern Lights, which we did! I highly recommend booking this tour and specifically asking for Martin!!!

Faint lights, but a fun night

    Susan_S, Feb 2024
Martin did a great job chasing the aurora. We didn't get to see it in all its glory but we did see some faint lights. Martin did a great job with the photos, the lights were great in the pictures. He's a very nice and interesting person. We enjoyed our time with him. He was really good at communicating with us.

    Amazing!

    Sian_F, Feb 2024
Hot chocolate around the fire, laughing and seeing the northern lights! Saw the Milky Way and shooting stars! Comfortable transport and a very capable guide! Perfect. Thank you Matin 👍

Amazing small group tour of up to 8 people

    Rebecca_S, Feb 2024
The tour was brilliant, our guide was really knowledgeable and knew the best places to go. And we were so lucky to actually see the northern lights. They were so amazing! However, I found the activity description misleading, it is a small group tour of up to 8 people not a private tour or restricted to 4 people

Very good photography aurora light chace

    Ben_L, Feb 2024
The guides were very pleasant and the photographers were very patient and professional, we saw the auora lights and were very satisfied with the photos.

I couldn't recommend it more. Worth every penny.

    GUSTAVO_P, Feb 2024
We have done 4 aurora chasing tour consecutively, I can assure that this tour was the best by far. Marcin our tour guide, really knows the stuff, how is works, where to go, and he was very very kind, concerned with us all the time. Took us amazing pictures, with a stunning view from the lights. I couldn't be more happy. Thanks a lot.

Memorable bucket list item checked off!

    ChristopherA_S, Jan 2024
Our wonderful guide, Marcen was very enthusiastic about showing us the Northern Lights! He made sure we were constantly in the best place to view the aurora and helped get my camera settings up to par to best capture the aurora in all its splendor!

    Amazing

    Hilda_A, Jan 2024
Our guide was informative and explained very well. We were so lucky to see the Aurora just after the first stop. The tour was great and the photos is out of this world.

    Magical Beach Northern Lights

    Vivian_S, Dec 2023
We went out for the second night with Luka and Yanina. We saw a glimpse of the Northern Lights through our cameras. They took us to a beach that was gorgeous and made a campfire. We had a great time. Some of the nicest people I have ever met and new friends for life.

    Super fun tour

    Vivian_S, Dec 2023
We had a marvelous trip with Luka and Yannina. They are the most hospitable couple I have ever met. They took us to several locations but the weather did not cooperate. It didn’t even matter because we had so much fun.

    Northern lights

Jerek was an amazing guide. We were lucky to watch the northern lights. He took great pictures. Best service.

    Awesome experience

    Kiran_M, Feb 2020
This tour is highly recommended. Jarek was very professional and he made sure that we see the lights no matter how long or how far we had to go to see them even though the weather was not looking too favourable.

    Lights like Disney

    ian_c, Feb 2020
This trip was absolutely amazing and all down to our brilliant guide, Jarek. He made sure everyone was comfortable from the minute we were collected and throughout our trip. He spent much time sharing informative and educational facts about Tromsø and Norway whilst we waited a good 3 hours for the lights to show at our chosen spot. As they did not, we moved on to other places. At one stage, my husband and I were the only people to get out of the mini van when he stopped at a site he thought offered a strong chance of visibility. He was really supportive of our eagerness to see the lights and clearly wanted this to be a successful trip, he genuinely cared. After around 10 to 15 minutes of waiting, the lights absolutely filled a gap in the clouds and danced around like something out of a Disney film. It was absolutely amazing! Jarek ran and got the others out of the van making sure they all caught the lights and he took some amazing photos which he sent the next day. He moved on and found another spot where the lights came again. I really think if we had not been so keen the others in our party would have given up much sooner. I cannot recommend this company and in particular, Jarek enough! Good luck!
