It's hard not to wax too lyrical about this experience, but sipping Katrin's prosecco in her vineyard immediately above the Miramare ecological garden and overlooking the Gulf of Trieste has to be one of the world's great winetasting moments. And then there was the amazing platter of local meats and cheeses.... Katrin's generosity knows no bounds.

Unfortunately tour had to be cancelled due to bad weather when cruise ship could not dock. However contact with tour provider was very good and she arranged for a full refund.

The passion of the wine maker for everything from the area to the process was infectious. The proseco was delicious, the food was a perfect combination, the location is gorgeous.
Worth putting on the flyers that there is a public bus stop very close to the meeting point and the host takes care to complete the program in time for the last bus either to Trieste or Duino etc.

Really enjoyed the small group trip. If you're coming from Trieste you need the bus 42 or 44 from the centre, about 5 minutes walk from bus/train station. We were late to the tour but very fortunate to find someone who directed us in the village to the pond which was down a hill off the main road.

Katrin was a fabulous host, she shared the history of the area, her family and the love of wine making with our small group of 10 from around the world. Her wines were tops and enjoyed with platters of Prosciutto and cheese.

The experience was very different than expected. I thought we would learn about grapes and wine with a great view.
Instead we learned about the culture of the region, walked through the most charming small village, and were invited to the home, garden, and micro winery of Katrin. We had 5 tastings plus more food than we could ever need. She truly is passionate about wine making, and her personality is infectious.
A must do when in Trieste!
If you are worried about finding the location it is easier than it first appears. She made sure other guests from their cruise had ample time to get back. Only a 25 minute bus ride from main station. I’d suggest using public transport as it is only $3 for a day pass. Use google maps to navigate bus lines.

The first part of the tour was very informative and it was interesting to learn about the region and the origins of prosecco! The host’s vineyard was incredibly beautiful and she was very attentive and answered all questions well. The wines were lovely too - I would highly recommend!

The walking talking history created a more meaningful experience, emphasized by the beauty of the surroundings. The host is warm, funny, smart, passionate and tells a good tale. Keeping it to a small group created a more intimate setting. Certainly an excellent time.

Our host and owner was absolutely delightful. She was kind, knowledgeable, and fun. Our taxi driver had a difficult time finding the meeting point but after a call to the host we made it. A walking tour through the town to thw winery was enjoyable and provided a chance to see an area not filled with tourist. The winery is small but in a pretty setting. The wine and food were good, and we enjoyed the company of the other individuals on our tour, some from a different area of Italy. I recommend this tour if you like wine or if you want to do something a little off the beaten path.

Amazing experience! Small walk with history lesson of Prosecco and near villages, then you are entering amazing small vinery of Owner with tasting of her own vines! Food is also included!
I really recomend to visit and support small vineyards, owner's story is amazing and there will be lots of things coming besides tours!

A nice insight into micro wine making and the quaint village of Cobtovello, outside of Trieste. Lovely view and good explanations of the history. One thing that could add to the experience would be a walk through the vineyard itself to learn about cultivation. Thanks

Amazing experience! Katrin gave us an interesting view of the local history and she explained all the different techniques used to produce the local wines. We then had a taste of the local products, both food and wine. The location and the products are fantastic and the host is incredibly nice, absolutely recommended!
