The overall tour information was good, the guide was very knowledgeable about the area and history. However, we had a few snags- 1) was supposed to be a private tour and we ended up with 6 people, which was managable and everyone was really nice and fun, but we paid for private experience.- they did add in lunch for the inconvenience -but see details below. 2) Meet up was a little confusing-operator sent a photo of the sign with the tour name, but the guide had a different sign and so was a little confusing on where we met the car driver etc. 3) Although the guide was really knowledgeable about the area, history etc- the camel ride was great, but the 2nd 1/2 of the tour constituted of going to shops that were high pressure/commission driven to purchase something and really uncomfortable. The owners were nice enough but we sat waiting for someone to buy something. The lunch that they 'added' was fine except that it was a 1-man restaurant that was really slow (understandable as he was just 1 cook/waiter/cashier) The food was good, but added adddtional time to the tour. The guide was very gracious and even helped serve the food. Strangely though the tour company bought lunch, but no drinks (water, lemonade etc) were included. -So overall, the tour was ok minus listening to presentations on products and the pressure to purchase $1500+ rugs and jewelry and oils. Slightly dissappointing.

Viator’s contractor or sub-contractor in Tangier is a bit sketchy (our guide was fantastic!). We rescheduled to take a private tour of Tangier. The day before we received an email saying that there was supposed to be another cruise ship in port and there was a shortage of local guides so they would be combining our tour with another group. They also then told us we would have to meet outside the cruise terminal instead of inside the cruise terminal. That was not so much of a problem although it was a good walk. The issue came later in the tour when apparently the members of the other group that was merged with ours had been told that their tour included lunch is part of the booking. Our guide knew nothing about that and that created a conflict. The members of the other group decided they just wanted to go back to the ship. Our tour did not include lunch and we would’ve happily sat down somewhere to eat and paid for it. It would’ve also given us a little bit more time in Tangier to shop and see maybe a couple other sites. The icing on the cake is that there did not appear to be a second cruise ship in Port when we were there.
Christopher_M, Aug 2026
It was a bit confusing, the tour was booked through Viator, for a tour company called North Tours, but then at the last minute it was changed to a company called Hapoy Tours, and then our tour guide gave us a business card that had a totally different name on it. We did not get to stop and visit a Masque, or Synagogue as described. But we did get to sit through a big pressure rug sales pitch and as well as one about oils and spices. (It felt like a timeshare sales pitch). We were then told we were going to a restaurant to get lunch, but we refused as it was already to late and had we stopped for lunch we would have missed the all aboard for our ship! So we left the tour and walked back to the ship!

What a disappointment! We paid for a PRIVATE tour for a reason and you provided a group tour of 27 people!!!!! We needed a private tour due to mobility issues and being cattle car together with a group was unacceptable. Turns out the other 23 people also paid for a private tour. If you weren’t able to accommodate this viator should have NEVER allowed us to book a private tour.
The poor tour guide was stuck with a group of very unhappy people and the tour was horrible. It was not what we paid for or expected.
Therefore I’m requesting a significant refund to make up for this complete failure on your part. I’ve booked many viator tours including several for this vacation and hope that this isn’t the level of service that viator is now providing.
Morocco was the one stop on our cruise that we were most looking forward to and you managed to make it a miserable experience.
I look forward to seeing a significant credit on my charge card.
I’m sure you’re getting the point of how disappointed and angry we are.
Judith_S, Jul 2026
It is not a private tour which is what we paid for. There were 27 people on this private tour. Didn’t stop at all the places on the itinerary. No lunch that was to be included. Everyone on the tour was so upset. Have another tour booked in France in 2027. Thinking about canceling it. Our one and only time to Tangiers was ruined. Very unhappy travelers.

The name on the bus picking us up was changed and we had a difficult time finding it.....Enjoyed camel ride and viewpoint of Atlantic meeting the Mediterranean. Nice tour leader. Bazaar visit was not as good as expected.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the confusion regarding the name displayed on the bus. We are glad you enjoyed the camel ride, the views where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea, and that you found the tour guide friendly and helpful. We appreciate your comments about the bazaar visit and will take them into consideration as we continue improving our tours. Thank you for joining us, and we hope to welcome you again in Tangier.
Laura_B, Jun 2026
It was a large bus tour- but probably more suited to a smaller group as originally described. Guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating at times, but pace was too fast when walking. Very interesting and good places to see.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for your review. We’re happy to hear that you enjoyed the sights and found our guide knowledgeable. We appreciate your comments regarding the walking pace and will take them into consideration. We hope to see you again in Tangier

Great tour guide Noori . Be prepared to walk Alot!!!!! Was disappointed in the Moroccan food at the restaurant they took us too . The music was good . Enjoyed Hercules Caves but be prepared to pay an extra $8 euros if you want to walk into the actual caves where the cave opens up to the ocean. A bit misleading to market the visit to include the caves . Yes the price includes the Hercules museum but not the caves
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for your review and for your kind words about our guide, Noori. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the tour, the music, and your visit to the Hercules area.
We appreciate your feedback regarding the restaurant and will take your comments into consideration. Regarding the Hercules Caves, our tour includes the Hercules Museum and the sightseeing visit to the Hercules Cave area as described in the itinerary. The archaeological cave section with the famous opening to the ocean is managed separately and requires an additional entrance fee, which is not included in the tour price.
Thank you again for sharing your experience. We hope to welcome you back to Tangier in the future

Tangier North Tours Tangier may be an ok company but we got a scammer for a tour guide. We did the camel ride and Hercules cave in about 40 minutes. We spent the next 5 hours following this nut ball around in the market going up and down steep stairs as it became obvious he was looking for shop keepers to give him a piece of the action while we sweltered in the heat with no respite. He didn’t orate anything and didn’t care if he lost any scragglers.,as more than 50% were 60 or older, we were all suffering and getting quite exasperated.
He owed us lunch and seemed to haggle for that as well. All beverages including water was an upcharge. Those of us struggling the most were seated separately from the rest and were forgotten about. The guide finally realized we weren’t served and we were given part of the dinner everyone else got.
Some of us were trying to figure out how to get back to the ship on our own but we were lost in the labyrinth of the souk. Going on hour 6 of a 4 hour tour I told the guide our ship was closing the doors at 5:15. We went to two more places that obviously agreed to give him kickbacks. Had one more walk of 50 yards and were waiting for the bus. We got back to the cruise port with 30 minutes to spare. We missed two stops of the tour.
Everyone was quite furious at Nori and some got sick from heat exhaustions I logged over 5100 steps on the tour which aggravated my COPD and confined me to a wheelchair the last two days of my cruise.
I don’t blame Viator. I blame this particular tour company for not vetting their guides more. This guide was straight up trying to profit at the expense of our health and welfare. The say the tour was any fun would be a lie. We were all exploited and we knew it.
I’m sorry we didn’t get to see the beauty of Morocco. This guide robbed us of the short time we had there.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations.
We would like to clarify that our guide followed the planned itinerary, which includes both sightseeing and time in the Medina and local markets, an important part of Tangier’s cultural experience. No guest is ever required to make purchases, and our guides do not receive commissions from shops visited during the tour.
We are particularly concerned to hear about your comments regarding the heat and your health condition. The guide’s intention was to keep the group together and ensure that everyone returned to the ship on time. According to our records, transportation was provided back to the port before the ship’s departure.
Regarding lunch, the meal included in the tour was provided as scheduled. Additional beverages may be charged separately by the restaurant, depending on individual orders.
We sincerely regret that you did not enjoy your day in Tangier. Our goal is always to showcase the beauty, culture, and hospitality of Morocco, and we appreciate your comments as they help us continue improving our services.
Cora_K, Jun 2026
I would never reccomended this tour to anyone. It was a bait and switch, lie and swindle experience from the beginning to the end. I should have canceled it before it started. The Tour was described as private. A few days before we were scheduled to go on the tour they informed me that 49 other people would be on the "bus" for my private tour. They said admission would be included, they said water bottles would be provided, they said we would start at 9am. Promises that were not honored. We skipped a good portion of the itinerary. I am so disappointed with the lack of organization and outright misinformation. I didnt get to experience the culture, history or have the PRIVATE local experience i was hoping for. 😔
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are genuinely sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations.
Due to the exceptionally high number of cruise passengers visiting Tangier on that day, we contacted guests in advance to explain the operational changes and provide an alternative arrangement. We understand that this was disappointing for travelers expecting a private experience.
We would like to clarify that our intention was never to mislead anyone. The tour still included transportation, guiding services, sightseeing highlights, and a traditional Moroccan experience. However, we acknowledge that the group format differed from the private tour you originally booked.
We regret any confusion regarding the schedule, included items, or itinerary. On busy cruise days, timing and logistics can sometimes require adjustments to ensure all guests are accommodated safely and returned to their ships on time.
Oliver_C, Jun 2026
Very disorganized. Tour started 50 mins late because of other members not finding the meeting point, which could have been avoided if bus was labeled better and the sign held by the guide was more visible.
A lot of the points listed in the tour were just drive bys and not actual stops. There were only 4 actual stops - Cape Spartel, Hercules Caves, Camel Ride, and the Medina.
Cape Spartel offered picture opportunities with signpost of Atlantic & Mediterranean.
The Hercules Caves was very disappointing. When we go there, there were 2 entrances. We were told to go to the one on the left. It was a small cave filled with tacky decoration and apparently was a gift shop. After leaving that cave, we asked what the other cave was, and the guide said that was the actual Hercules Cave but it’s not included in the tour so if we wanted, we had to pay €10 on top, and everyone in the group has to want to go in. Since a group consensus was needed, we weren’t able to go in. The guide should have been unfrosted with the situation from the start so we could have decided to go in in the first place and not go to the cave turned souvenir shop.
The camel experience was the only redeeming factor of the entire tour. Though there were only 7 camels for our group of 40 and had to wait our turn, it was worth it.
When we got to the Medina, we were taken to a restaurant for the “free meal” they offered us to offset the fact that we booked and paid for a private tour, but it became a public group tour “due to multiple bookings”. When we got there, the dining room was full of other tour groups so our family was split up in different floors, and it took a long time for us to be served. We also had an incident when they laid down orange juice on our tables which we thought were included in the package, but ended up being charged for on the way out. Most of those in our groups were already very angry so they ended up not charging for them. However, those on another floor ended up paying for the orange juices that were never really ordered.
Most of our time was used up in the restaurant and right after, we were led to a spice and oil shop that gave us a lecture on Moroccan products and sold them to us. Again this felt very scammy as part of a paid tour. Afterwards, we were brought to an antique shop, and were brought around the market in a line and no free time to explore on our own.
We literally just went through the market in a line, and didn’t get to enjoy the experience.
Overall - I DO NOT SUGGEST this tour. It was supposed to be a private tour which turned out not to be, and only the CAMEL experience was worth it. Everything else felt scammy. This is the worst tour I’ve done out of all the online providers.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback.
We are sorry to hear that your experience did not fully meet your expectations. On busy cruise days, meeting points and timing can sometimes be affected by high passenger volume, and we do our best to assist all guests in locating the guide as quickly as possible.
Regarding the itinerary, the tour includes a combination of sightseeing stops, drive-through highlights, and cultural experiences as outlined in the program. Cape Spartel, Hercules Cave area, camel ride, and the Medina are part of the main stops, while some viewpoints are intentionally included as panoramic drive-by sections to cover more ground within the available time.
For Hercules Caves, we would like to clarify that the main archaeological cave entrance is subject to a separate ticket managed by the site authorities and is not always included in the tour price. The alternative entrance and surrounding area are part of the guided visit.
The lunch experience is arranged as a complimentary meal for guests, and seating may vary depending on restaurant capacity on peak days. Any beverages outside the included items are typically charged by the restaurant, and we regret any confusion regarding this.
We also understand your comments regarding shopping stops. These cultural visits are optional parts of the itinerary intended to showcase local craftsmanship, and guests are never obliged to purchase anything.
We appreciate your feedback, and we are sorry that certain aspects of the tour felt rushed or not aligned with your expectations. Your comments will be reviewed with our team to improve organization and communication in the future.

The one thing they did well was the promised camel ride on the beach. That was amazing! We also saw a snake charmer, which was very interesting.
Some downsides. We were changed from a private tour to a small group tour a few days before our tour. We were promised lunch, but ultimately declined due to feeling that our group was not getting exactly what was promised. We did not see the Hercules cave, and did not go to all of the promised spots, but were taken into a couple of stores where we were targeted for sales of tablecloths and apothecary items.
Norman_M, Jun 2026
I have mixed feelings about this tour.
I liked the guide and what we saw.
But…..
We booked a private tour and were given one with 20 people. The reason given was that there two large cruise ships in port. The truth is that they accepted too many bookings.
They offered us a free meal that was already included.
In addition, we didn’t go to the synagogue or the larger cave of Hercules. We didn’t spend an hour at the Medina. All were on the itinerary.
I have requested a partial refund. Given their attitude so far, I have little hope.
JohnMichael_Y, Jun 2026
One of the best port excursions we have ever taken. Excellent guide and driver. Well paced and never felt rushed. The camel ride was fantastic followed by some wonderful sites - finishing up with a traditional Moroccan lunch.
jodiflayman, Jun 2026
We were disappointed with this tour. It was booked as a private tour but the day before we got a call that they didn’t have enough guides so we’d be in a small group of 15. They said we had no choice de we went along with it. While we did follow some of the itinerary, we never went to the synagogue or one other location listed. We did however get herded into a couple of stores where it was clear that the guide had a deal to bring us in for a sales pitch. Muhammad was our guide and he tried hard but was difficult to understand & didn’t provide much information about the culture or sights. Overall would not recommend this tour.
leslie_S, Jun 2026
Do not take this tour. We ended up in a group tour and weren't notified or given the option to cancel a few days prior. There were 35 people in the tour instead our party of eight. I talked to four other groups in our large party who also signed up for a private tour and were told they were being changed to the group. One of the groups were a couple on their honeymoon. I was told the reason we did not have a private tour was because if the operator let everyone have a private tour he would need a thousand vehicles. I was advised of this by the operator as he assured me that the stops would all be the same. I was then contacted by someone who said the operator gave him my cell phone # because we were on the same tour and the operator needed me to sign up for WHATSAPP. It didn't appreciate the operator giving out my number. This was all before the tour started.
THE TOUR
Parc Perdicaris- we were supposed to spend 10 minutes at the parc bur drove by. It said admission included though there is none.
Cap Spartel-we were supposed to spend 25 minutes here but drove by. It said admission included though it is free.
Achakker Beach- drove by the and was told we would circle back if it wasn't so crowded. I believe this is where we were supposed to ride camels on the beach. Supposed to be there for 30 minutes Once again admission included on a free destination.
we did circle back to the area to ride camels. However, it was not down on the beach bur in a dusty parking lot with the poor baby camels tied up mewing for their mothers who were required to provide rides.
Caves of Hercules- (caves being the optimum word) We arrived for our projected 30 minute visit. There are two caves. The first one, which I believe is free was a small cave decorated like Pirates of the Caribbean. Took less that 10 minutes and that was only because of foot traffic. Next to the touristy, tacky man made cave was a line which required an admission fee. This is the natural wonder which opens to the sea. I'm sure all in our group would have loved to have seen that.
Tangier Casbah- I know I was looking forward to shopping in a crowded Casbah and we were advised we would be there for an hour. We had no time to stop as we rushed up and down the small streets until we reached a shop which sold argean oil and spices. We were ushered in under the pretense of restrooms and were told to sit on benches so we could be given a sales pitch the benefits of the shop's products. People who had the audacity to speak amongst themselves were told to listen and those who stood up to walk out were told to sit down. I was appalled. But just when I thought the tour could not get more dismal, we headed to lunch. Initially, the tour director told me our private group would get extra appetizers ( did not care). When we arrived, we were offered two drinks, some type of juice or lemonade. When asked about water, we were ignored and they mulled around us until we chose a drinks from their tray. We ate our meal, but I am not sure what it was. We were not given a menu choice. I noticed several in our party did not eat. They came by with trays of iced tea and coca cola which come people took As we finished with our meal they began approaching the customers trying to collect for the drinks which they said were not included . Some people in our group heard that, others didn't. The guide did not advise us this boat and switch tactic and he seemed to be on good terms with the business. (as well as the Argan Oil Shop) The employees actually followed some customers out the restaurant to try to extract payment.
Place Du Grand 9 Avril- I think we drive past this site. This may be in the area of out restaurant.
Moshe Nahon Synagogue- I think we drove by. It says 20 minutes and admission price included. No admission price charged according to the website.
Just as a reference, the tour was supposed to take 4-5 hours . We were supposed to leave at 9 which was changed to 9:30am by the operator and the to 10 am. With the time frame of the tour coupled with travel time, projected time at each site and time for loading and unloading a bus with 35 people we couldn't possibly see all the sights in that time frame or make it back to the cruise ship. I contacted viator who took some of this info and said they contacted the tour director who requested an email from viator because the tour director did not speak english. So far they are only offering a 10% refund for providing only 10% of a promised tour.
Winifrey_V, May 2026
Two days prior to the beginning of the tour, tour provider requested us to change our tour from private to a large group tour due to availability of tour guides. Our group had limited mobility so we preferred and had to insist to keep our tour private. Tour provider then followed by saying they might have to cancel and they’ll let us know the next day. Following day they confirmed they found someone, but pushed hard to cancel the Viator booking and to do a cash deal outside of the platform as they stated the amount they actually get from the platform is not nearly enough- I insisted to stay with the Viator booking as I had already paid and for added protection and ease of mind. bringing the money into this conversation after the booking was made already made things feel icky and concerning leading up to the tour.
Day of the tour comes and tour provider says they have to change the pick up location which required us to move five senior citizens 700 meters to the new meet up point. (We come to find after that they just don’t have the adequate paperwork to pick up within the cruise terminal).
Tour was in English, but guide struggled with basics- 6/10
Tour stops included:
-camel ride (great- 10/10)
-Hercules Cave (tour stated ticket was included, but we were actually funnelled into a touristy gift shop carved into the rock and NOT the actual Hercules Cave. The actual Hercules Cave required further tickets that the guide tried to evade. We didn’t push hard because the young children in our group were getting fussy)
-Cap Spartel (stopped to see Cap Spartel, but again, tour stated we had tickets and guide did not bring us in)
-Meeting point of the Atlantic and Mediterranean
-Lunch (was actually quite good. A few options and great hospitality. As stated in the tour, drinks at the restaurant were not included and that’s totally fine. Just beware if you choose to order drinks that you’re looking at a minimum of 5€ per drink (coke, juice, etc))
-Medina (got very apparent that guide was taking us on a directed tour to specific shops that we had zero interest in only to likely get a kick back from shop owners. Didn’t take into account our interests at all and was very self-serving from a guide standpoint.)
The guide overall was not able to explain things when asked and did not offer any anecdotes throughout the tour at all.
The drivers themselves were kind and helpful.
Overall, I still give this tour a 3/5 because the food was great, most of the people we interacted with not directly involved with the tour were great, the drivers were great, but we would NOT recommend this specific tour provider or the guide if you are looking for a private tour in Tangier. If you do choose this tour or ANY tour for that matter, ensure you are aware of all inclusions and exclusions and stand your ground. Listing stated bottled water would be provided throughout the tour and we had to push our guide for it. Tour stated pick up and drop off from either hotel or cruise port and pick up was 700m away from the port, drop off our group had to split into two vehicles where one got us to the cruise terminal and the other dropped off 700m away from the terminal. We ultimately only got 4 stops (plenty to be honest), but didn’t get the fully value of what we were promised in terms of entries/admissions.
Best of luck and enjoy Tangier- it is very beautiful and most of the people are absolutely amazing.
Ira_Z, May 2026
This tour was a huge disappointment. We paid for and expected a private tour of Tanger for a group of four adults. We had expected a customized experience. Instead, we were informed the day before that this would be a large group on a tour bus. (30-35 people)
It included a one and a half hour stop for a camel ride, which we were not interested in. This detracted from our seeing a substantial part of the island. While we were offered a lunch as compensation, it did not make up for our feeling of disappointment and what we would be missing on a private tour. At each stop, we had to wait for everyone to be accommodated. This was not what we had paid for. The late notification came while we were on a cruise and it was too late for us to make alternate arrangements. The reason quoted to us was that there were other cruise ships docking at the same time and this necessitated making this change. Surely you knew about this prior to notifying us.
james_c, May 2026
The tour guide, Mustafa, did a good job. He wasn’t the issue. The issue was that the tour was advertised as a “private tour” and priced accordingly. Instead, the tour company put us a tour bus with 30+ others. In America this is called “bait and switch “. We paid for a private tour and got a tour with 30+ others on a bus. All the people on the bus had also paid for private tours. The tour company said it wasn’t possible for there to be enough tour guides for everyone. We did see other private tours at the port and throughout the day. Be wary of Morocco.
Norbert_S, May 2026
This was an unmitigated disaster. This is no reflection on our tour guide because Younnes did the very best he could. We paid for a private tour of Morocco and was put on a bus with 30+ other people. They changed it 2 days before the actual tour date after we were already on the cruise. We did not stop or see half of the items that were listed when we originally booked this tour back in January. On top of it there was an unexpected charge for the lunch beverages. And an hour of our tour was lost on trying to sell us argan oil at a pharmacy. It was an insult to us to have to sit through a presentation, when what we wanted to do was see Morocco. This is undoubtedly the worst tour I have ever been on. And question whether or not, I will ever book more tours through Viator. You had no problem charging our credit card for the tour and then changing everything on the tour. That’s just wrong. And to take an hour out of my vacation intending to see Morocco and put us in a room to listen to a sales pitch? How do you think this is a good idea? That’s how you value my time? Extremely disappointed in the whole scenario. I am contesting the charge for the trip with my credit card company.
AlinaK, May 2026
Our contact person was Anwar. After booking a private tour. He contacted us to say he took 60 reservations and no longer would be a private tour. He divided us in 3 groups. Finding the driver was chaotic. Confusion as to what guest were going on which bus as the list kept changing. We were lucky that our van showed up. Other people in the group got left behind and another was converted to a walking tour. The restaurant was too small to accommodate the groups, then found out Anwar was the brother of the chef. Food was not bad. We found out that Anwar does not even had a tour license. Viator should do a better job of vetting their tour operators!

What a fantastic tour. We had the best guide (Nabil). Took us to such interesting places and gave us quite the history lesson. Definitely recommend
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Thank you so much for your kind words!
We’re delighted to hear that you had a fantastic time exploring Tangier and that Nabil made your experience so special. He will be very happy to know that you enjoyed the tour, the interesting places, and the history he shared with you.Thank you again for your recommendation—it truly means a lot to us. We hope to welcome you back again in the future

We had a very disappointing experience on our first trip to Morocco. The entire tour felt rushed, but the worst part was the lunch situation.
We were told lunch would be included, yet our guide Hassan took us to a restaurant where he seemed to know the owner and then charged us €30 per person for a very basic meal (tea, soup, and a single chicken leg). This was never explained in advance and felt completely misleading.
Overall, this felt like a tourist trap and left a terrible first impression. I would not recommend this tour.
Melissa_H, Apr 2026
Very unorganized and tour felt like they were just winging it. Nothing was correct in the description.
1. We were expected to walk all the way up to the Casbah area.
2. Lunch was supposed to be included they tried charging us.
3. Finally when there was a tour bus there was no air conditioning.
4 We never got to see Hercules Cave just a replica of what it should look like.
5. Our original tour guide passed us off to join 3 other groups. The tour guide we had did try his best but definitely was not what we expected.
Marci_C, Apr 2026
It never took place. The tour provider had so many sign up that he had no vehicles or drivers available for our group of 10. Still waiting for a refund.
Fernando_D, Apr 2026
Awful! Tour was sold as private but was told that due to multiple cruise ships in port that day they had to combine. Our bus had 17 ppl no a/c and not one other cruise ship in port other than ours. Lunch was explicitly included in our tour but our guide Assan dropped us off at a restaurant that he obviously knew the owner and quickly disappeared. We were served soup, one chicken leg and a few pieces of baklava. After the owner comes to our table and tells us that we owe 60 euros for two ppl. We disagreed and Assan magically appeared and agrees with owner. Total scam! We were forced to pay. Ruined our Tangiers experience.

The tour was listed as cruise ship pick up and drop off but it was actually a mile walk both ways. Our guide took us to all the stops listed but spent a lot of time talking on his cell phone. The tour entailed several miles of walking including quite a few steep stairs, I think that should have been mentioned in the description of the tour.

Hello, thank you for your feedback In Tangier, private guides are not allowed to enter inside the cruise port area. Only official port guides working directly with the Ministry of Tourism have access. For this reason, we meet our guests just outside the port, which is about a 2–5 minute walk from the cruise ship During the tour we visited all the places listed in the program, including the Medina, local markets, shopping areas, camel ride, Cape Spartel, and the Hercules Caves. Tangier’s historic Medina is very old and includes narrow streets and steps, so walking is a normal part of the experience Thank you again for visiting Tangier and for sharing your review

The provider switch us to a small group tour over our objections and without our permission. We were not picked up at the cruise ship as advertised but were asked to walk 1.5k to a pickup point near a mosque. Because I am mobility limited (the main reason we booked a private tour) the provider agreed to pick us up at a shuttle point provided by Celebrity. The guide cut several sites from the itinerary again without consulting us. Toward the end of the tour the van left and we were again forced to walk to the Celebrity shuttle pickup point. I plan on requesting a full refund from Viator. This from the outset a bait and switch scam. Avoid this tour. You will be ripped off.

Thank you for your review.
I would like to clarify several important points to ensure future guests understand the situation accurately.
First, regarding pickup at the cruise port: only official vehicles authorized by the Port Authority (President & Turismo) are allowed to enter directly inside the cruise terminal. Independent private guides are not permitted to enter unless working under that authorization. For this reason, I clearly informed you one day before the tour — by both WhatsApp and email — that the meeting point would be just outside the port area, approximately three minutes walking distance. This is standard procedure for all private guides in Tangier.
Second, about the small group: your booking was made last minute. I informed you in advance that three additional guests would join the tour and you confirmed in writing that this was “no problem.” Despite this, I upgraded your experience by providing a full traditional Moroccan meal (couscous, tagine, and soup) at no extra charge. This meal costs me €50 per person and was offered as a gesture of goodwill to ensure you had an excellent experience.
Transportation was provided, and you were returned safely to the port area at the end of the tour.
I always work with honesty and professionalism, and I never operate a “bait and switch.” My goal is to provide authentic and high-quality experiences to all my guests. I regret that you felt dissatisfied, but I stand by the transparency of the communication and the service provided.

Be aware that this tour does not match the advertised itinerary.
We are seasoned travellers and feel it’s important to highlight that much of this tour did not align with what was advertised.
To start, the tour guide did not meet us at the cruise ship disembarkation point where all other tour operators were waiting. Instead, we were required to walk outside the port to the Mosque Lalla Aabia to meet the guide. Despite the itinerary stating otherwise, there was no sign with our names.
The first part of the tour included a panoramic visit to Cap Spartel, a camel ride, and the Hercules Caves. During this section, the guide was frequently reading messages on their phone and turning away while speaking. At one point, this resulted in us being led across the road into oncoming traffic multiple times, which felt unsafe.
Although entrance to the Hercules Caves was meant to be included, the guide was unaware of this. After contacting North Tours Tangier, they agreed to cover entry only to the smaller cave [€1 per person], not the main cave [€8 per person], which is the primary attraction. The smaller cave is essentially a souvenir shop and not worth visiting.
We were dropped off by the first tour guide once their portion of the tour ended and handed over to a second guide for a walk through the Kasbah and Medina. This part of the tour was rushed and poorly organised, with very little information provided about the sites. We were then taken to a co-operative shop with a clear expectation to purchase items.
After this, we were passed on again to another individual for what was described as a traditional Moroccan lunch. While the food was enjoyable, we were uncomfortable when a plate was placed on the table specifically to request a tip.
Following lunch, the original guide returned and combined us with another family who were continuing on to the Hercules Caves. When we questioned this change, several people became involved - by this stage, four different guides from the same company had been involved - which only added to the confusion. We were then taken to a few additional stops lasting around 20 minutes, including the synagogue, which we had to insist on as these visits were listed in the itinerary. This also included a visit to a shop clearly associated with the guides selling argan oil products.
At the end of the tour, we were told to use the free cruise ship shuttle bus back to the port, despite a taxi transfer being included in the tour price. We had to insist that this be honoured.
No bottled water was provided at any point, despite being listed in the itinerary. As an apology, we were given five fridge magnets.
Overall, the tour was disorganised, misleading, and heavily focused on shopping rather than providing a quality guided experience. We recommend looking elsewhere.

Thank you for your feedback. Your reservation was made just a few hours before the cruise arrival, which limits timing and meeting points at the port. Our driver met you as arranged, and all included parts of the tour—camel ride, Hercules Museum, Medina walk, synagogue, and lunch—were completed, despite heavy rain.
The main Hercules Cave is not included in this tour, and this was explained when you asked. Visits to local shops and markets are part of showing Tangier’s culture, and guests are never pressured to buy anything.
We always aim to provide a safe, organized, and enjoyable experience, even with time or weather challenges, and we hope you will return to Tangier for a longer visit to fully enjoy the city
