The ‘tour guide’ identifying as ‘Anwar’ contacted me the day before the excursion demanding an extra USD100 over and above the Viator price for a guide. When I reported this to Viator they reported that he had simply made a mistake. ‘Anwar’ manifested as a young, semi-sophisticated, street-smart hustler. His demeanour was passive/aggressive which we found intimidating. He possessed an introverted perception as to who was the client. He spoke to the driver or was on his cellphone for most the journey to & from Chefchaouen. He appeared annoyed when I interrupted to ask questions about points of interest. He demanded that I pay for his coffee when we stopped for refreshments. It is inconceivable that Viator endorses this company.
