Day trip to Chefchouen

We enjoyed the tour to Chefchaouen. Our driver Youssef met us at our hotel and drove us. He is a safe driver and answered all our questions. Our guide Noman met us there and showed us around. He was very knowledgable about the place. The only thing that we did not like was that he stopped to talk to everyone he ran across as we toured which we thought was a little unprofessional. At one point , he was on the phone talking to someone for a few minutes while we had to wait for him to finish. Also, he told us the Kasbah was not worth touring since all the artifact there have been moved to a museum, so I'm not sure why it was listed on the itenary? Other than that we had like the tour.

Great experience, but make dietary restrictions known.

The tour guide was courteous, knowledgeable, and very understanding when our 2 year old was upset and tired. The lunch wasn’t 3 courses, but the restaurant was accommodating when we needed fruit. We ordered the vegetable couscous for my wife who is vegetarian and chicken was buried underneath the couscous.

We were picked up by Yuseff, our driver who did a great job getting us to Chefchaouen and back to Tanger. He was a little quiet but nice and accommodating. We were then handed over to our guide in Chefchaouen, named Norman. He was amazing. He has grown up in the town. He knows everyone. He provided history, food tasting, and tried hard to create a great experience. He is very energetic and funny. When it came time to us to go to waterfall, it became apparent that Viator did not describe the waterfall part of the trip very well. Apparently we would need to hike for about 45 minutes to the waterfall. We love hiking. However nowhere on the description did it say we would hike or should wear clothing and shoes appropriate for a hike. I do not think it would of been a strenuous hike but we still did not have the correct shoes on for this part. Norman felt horrible and extended our time in Chefchaouen with more history and amazing views. He did an awesome job.

We were disappointed that the guide did not take use to see the waterfalls of Akchour. I was very much looking forward to that and far too much time was spent taking us around Chefchaouen so we ran out of time. There seemed to be a certain number of shops we had to visit to complete the tour in Chefchaouen because I asked if we were OK on time, and was told yes. As it turns out, we didn’t get to see the waterfalls and our driver drove much faster on the way back to the ferry, we were the last to board running and barely made it on the ferry in time.

Prompt pick up from hotel and comfortable ride to Chefchaouen. Guides were local and knowledgeable. We were able to enjoy the entire day. Nouaman(Norman) was proud to show us his city and take us to a very good place for lunch.

This was the most incredible experience. Our driver Youssef made us feel so welcome from the beginning - he was personable and knowledgeable and a great conversationalist. We loved picking his brain about all things Morocco and he was so accommodating. He knows the cities so well and navigates them like something out of the movies. Our guide in Chefchaouen, Mohamed, was almost indescribable. His knowledge and passion for his city was infectious. His information included folk tales, scientific and historical facts, and everything in between. He made our experience feel so authentic and meaningful - I couldn’t imagine anyone more perfect for this job and we felt so lucky to have gotten the chance to see Chefchaouen through his eyes.

Muhammed was an excellent guide. Very professional and exceptional English. He grew up in Chefchaouen and spends free time on the trails to the waterfalls so you are really getting a guide that knows the areas well. He took tons of photos for us. I didn’t realize that our guide would be doing this. He did a great job with the pictures and I’m grateful for that because I have something to remember the trip by. The spot he recommended for lunch was our favorite meal in Morocco. The hike was beautiful. We saw the smaller falls bc there was too much rain to see the larger falls that day but it was a beautiful hike. I wish the best to Muhammed! He’s getting married soon—it was interesting to hear about his religion and culture. I loved hearing about his new bride-to-be. We learned a bit of the history of the town and went to the market area (people are aggressive salesmen so be prepared for that) we enjoyed the market even with that. After buying a rug and having lunch we did the hike. I’d recommend wearing something nice for photos and comfortable shoes for hiking. I’ll also mention that our driver picked us up from our hotel which was pretty far out of the way. The driver stayed with us through the whole day and then drove us back to our hotel. This made things really convenient for us. He was great too!

Norman was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and made this such a great experience. The city is beautiful and the drive there is as well! Our drive Ibraham was very professional and nice and kept us in comfort for the whole drive. The blue city is definitely worth visiting if you travel to Morocco.

Norman gave an excellent tour of the city, showed us all the good spots and gave us all of the history. He was also very patient and helpful while we shopped. The falls were beautiful, and we had a great time. Definitely worth the trip!

We had a great time with our driver, Youssef, and our Chefchaouen tour guide Noourman. Unfortunately Noourman had to leave due to a family emergency, but his colleague took over for the Akchour portion of the tour, but unfortunately we do not recall his name. Highly recommend all three of these gentlemen, they were very knowledgeable and fun to hang out with for a day.

This was an excellent day!! I went on this tour with my mom and daughter and it was just wonderful. They made it so easy by picking us up and providing transportation all around! Our guide Norman was absolutely wonderful and really made the day extra special, he took pictures for us and showed us al the great places. I also liked that he was from the area and so really knew everything and everything and shared so much of the history and culture and answered any questions we had. He continually also made the day extra special for my daughter for her birthday and it certainly will be a day we won’t forget! Thank you Norman!

Good experience with a full van for our family. Van pick up was on time and the driver was pleasant. But we could speak Arabic and he didn't speak English. Google Translate to the rescue but it was awkward sometimes. We got a English speaking guide at Chefchaouen and the falls. We spent too much time at lunch due to slow service and we cut out the shopping at women's co op. But were still late to the falls and could not go the middle falls. Overall good experience with a good guide

Had an absolutely fantastic day. Chefchaouen is a magical place. It has been on my bucket list for years and did not disappoint. Not only was it stunning but the people who live there are so warm, welcoming and friendly. Our guide was fabulous. He ensured our day was flexible and showed us what we were interested in and left out the rest (we chose to skip the waterfalls due to it being dry and being a bit too tired to hike). It transpired that he is (like us) a passionate animal lover and does a lot of charitable work for the stray kitties in the town and as we are fanatical about cats we spent a good deal of the day buying food for the cats and feeding them. Exploring a beautiful place in the sun while playing with animals - all my dreams come true, it was heaven! Thank you so much for such a brilliant and memorable day that we’ll never forget. (Our transfer was also really smooth and totally private which made the day even more comfortable and memorable). So highly recommended.

A lovely day in the Atlas Mountains, seeing The Blue City, walking the lower waterfalls trail and "cooling my tired tootsies" in the swimming area. Mohammed text us the night before to bring swimsuits and towels if we wanted a swim. Mohammed spoke perfect English and our conversations ran the gammet from history to literature and local Berber artisan crafts. You can see he loves people and is proud of his town.

We went on the Chefchaouen / Akchour tour. Our wonderful driver Nizar picked us up promptly and gave us a very comfortable ride to Chefchaouen. We made one nice stop for some mint tea and photos, then met our guide, Abdul, who gave us a very fun and entertaining tour of Chefchaouen - his hometown that he is very passionate about - and Akchour. I HIGHLY recommend taking this tour with Abdul!

I'd give this ten stars if I could. This is the best tour in Morocco. Our driver Mohammed is fantastic. He is so friendly and a great driver. We stopped at a really nice little place on the way for coffee. I can't say enough good things about our tour guide Nouaman. He is super nice, really knowledgeable about the whole area, takes you to the best places, and he's friends with everyone in the whole town (I'm sure because he's the nicest guy). Chefchaouen has a really great vibe. Everyone is really nice. It's safe and clean and people are happy. The art and architecture is gorgeous. I didn't want to leave. We also hiked to the God's bridge, which is so beautiful. It was such a great day. If you are ever in Tangier, you have to take this tour. If you are anywhere else in Morocco or anywhere around the Mediterranean, go to Tangier and take this tour. It's the best.

Amazing, enriching and well-organised

Spectacularly organised and incredible trip! Chefchaoeun and the waterfalls was at the top of our list to visit during our trip to Tangier. We are so glad we booked this tour as it was well-worth the money. The locations are more remote and quite far away, so having transportation and organised tour guides at both the waterfalls and Chefchaoeun meant that we were able to fully focus on sightseeing and experiencing each location, without any stress of logistics and planning. Each tour guide was local to each location, and showed us some amazing spots and took some great photos for us. Both locations were so stunning, and we are so glad we had a tour guide at both. They were patient and very knowledgeable. In particular, Nouaman at Chefchaoeun was so great and knowledgeable about the community and lifestyle of the town's local people. It was thanks to his tour and insights that really highlighted to us the magic of Chefchaoeun - as more than just a beautiful, picturesque town - but also one rich in culture. Nouaman speaks very fluent English and being a local to Chefchaoeun, he also shared with us many of his own stories about life in the Blue City. We had some incredible street food while there, including a cup of deliciously made snails for only 1 euro (but were much, much better than many highly priced escargot dishes in France & London!). We were picked up at our hotel and first driven to the waterfalls for a guided tour of a few hours, then driven to Chefchaouen for our tour, before being taken back into Tangier. The car was very nice and each activity was spaced out so there was absolutely no rush. We were picked up at 10.30am and finished the tours just as it got dark outside, and returned back to the hotel around 8.30pm. It was an absolutely fantastic day where we got to see and learn so much. Given both locations are quite far out and unique, it was incredibly valuable to us that the logistics were taken care of efficiently and smoothly. Highly recommended!

Chefchaouen is a MUST!

Our driver Abdul and our guide Nouaman were fantastic! 5 star! Chefchaouen is so so beautiful, the vibe is relaxed and the people are so charming and generous. The only downside is that we did not actually go to the Akchour waterfalls. We only went in the area, which was still beautiful but a little bit of false advertising.

What a great day. Chefchaouen was beautiful. My driver, Hafid and guide, Nermin, both very lovely, knowledgable and kind. Great scenery through the riff mountains. Thoroughly recommend it. Unfortunately, my husband was sick and unable to make the trip, any chance of a refund for one person?
