One of the best walking food tours we’ve ever done in the world!! Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining, and took us to some really interesting places. He was also attentive to one of our party who had to be gluten-free, and she had options at each stop.

Disaster- Do Not Take This Tour

    Bill_S, Jun 2026
Instead of cancelling our tour, the tour guide told us he was asked to cover for the regular guide since he was busy the day of our tour. Instead of being met at the cruise port we were asked to walk 25 minutes into a very confusing market area where, once we finally found our guide, we were taken around to four spots where we had a cup of bean soup at our first stop, an espresso at our second stop, our third stop was a chicken and couscous dish and our fourth stop we got a date with a walnut in it. We got no discussion or explanation on anything we were eating nor any cultural discussions. Most of the time we spent staring at the back of our 25 year old “tour guides” head. Then we were left in the middle of the market and told the tour is over your ship is that way as he pointed and walked away. Hands down, worst tour ever.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I am honestly surprised by this review, especially since I already issued you a refund as a gesture of goodwill after our discussions. Given that the refund was accepted, I do not see the value in posting a review that omits important parts of what happened that day. First, your group arrived significantly later than the agreed meeting time at the port, which affected the schedule from the start. Despite this, we honored the tour and ensured that all the planned locations were covered. Second, the guide who accompanied you was asked to substitute for the regular guide due to an unforeseen scheduling issue. While he may have had a different style, he made every effort to accommodate your group and complete the experience. I also feel it is important to mention that throughout the tour and our subsequent communications, the interactions toward our guide and our team were at times discourteous and disrespectful. Nevertheless, we remained professional and worked to find a satisfactory solution, including providing a refund. We always welcome constructive criticism and continuously strive to improve our tours. However, fairness requires that the full context be considered. I wish you all the best in your future travels.

One of the best food tours we’ve ever done.

    Barcelona Paella Making Experience

    Debra_J, Nov 2025
It’s in an out of the way location actually an alley so we weren’t sure however once we got in a lovely culinary experience unfolded. Our chef was a fount of information about the history of tapas and paella. She carefully guided us through making paella from preparing the seafood to waiting for the dish to be just right before it was ready. Oh and let’s not forget the sangria making history and process. What an incredible way to learn about the culinary culture of a country.

Breakfast and lunch plus Moroccan whisky.

The good was diverse and learned a lot about the culture. Our guide showed us everything in the old city.

    Response from Host, Nov 2025

That sounds wonderful! I’m really glad you had such a rich experience and got to immerse yourself in the local culture. It’s great to hear that your guide helped you discover the best parts of the old city — those tours can be so memorable!

    A really great experience

    Jeanne_E, Oct 2025
We highly recommend this experience. It's very immersive, with a lot of variety of food in many different venues.. You will eat well...like a local. Our guide had hired cabs to take us to and from the city center and we walked to the various shops and restaurants from a plaza overlooking the cruise ships. We walked quite a lot, but had plenty of opportunities to rest and our guide knew where all of the clean restroom facilities were located. We felt safe. One of our travel mates is gluten intolerant and special accommodations were made for her. Everything was included in the price, including tipping. We did stop at a Moroccan oils shop and a rug shop, but were not pressured to purchase anything. One piece of advice is Do Not Eat Anything before starting the excursion because you are offered a lot of food. This is not an appropriate excursion for disabled people as there are uneven surfaces, cobblestone walkways and a hilly terraine. The excursion was supposed to last 3 1/2 - 4 hours, but it lasted for 6 hours as we were offered shopping opportunities. We would definitely do this one again and highly recommend Annis.

It’s wonderful that you appreciated the variety of food and local atmosphere, and that the arrangements worked smoothly for everyone in your group. I also appreciate your note about accessibility and timing—it’s very helpful for future guests. We’re delighted you’d choose to do it again, and I’ll be sure to share your kind words with Annis!

Good variety of food and drinks. Tour guide was knowledgeable and showed us unique places, too, like a spice shop and rug shop.

    Tangier Food Tour

    Randal_S, Sep 2025
Anas was an excellent guide as we strolled thru the streets and markets of Tanjier. We enjoyed all types of Moroccan food and drink, with historical facts along the way. It was a pleasure to meet Anas and experience the Moroccan culture thru his eyes.

    Response from Host, Sep 2025

Mr Randal, Mme Julie Thank you so much for your kind words. It was truly a joy to share the streets, flavors, and stories of Tangier with you. I’m grateful for the chance we had to explore together, and I’m glad you could experience a glimpse of Moroccan culture through my eyes. Wishing you many more beautiful travels, and I hope our paths cross again someday.
