The annual VIVID festival transforms Sydney with spectacular displays of light art, and reigns as the largest festival of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. Enjoy a fantastic perspective on the city from the decks of the tall ship, soaking in sweeping views of the Sydney Opera House as its sails light up with eye-popping 3D projections created by award-winning international artists.

Every year, the art changes, with VIVID artists projecting interactive displays on iconic landmarks like the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Customs House. Select vessels on Sydney Harbour have also been decorated with special LED lights, creating a light parade on the water.

The crew serves up a tasty dinner during the cruise, with live music adding to the festive atmosphere. When you return to shore, you are in an ideal location to continue exploring the city further on your own.

Poor experience....

I understand the policy of gates close at 6.00pm however when you are there 50m from the gate and our friends on the ship are telling the captain we have arrived and could see us, you would think another 30 seconds would not matter. No, the captain said 6.00pm and that's it...the gates closed and we missed the cruise. Never have I experienced such poor treatment from a tour operator. In addition, our friends said they could not wait to get off the ship.

Thank you for your feedback. We are only given 15 minutes at the wharf so our passengers can board our tall ship. We do our best to wait for our passengers but we can only wait until the allocated time. It is also unfair to the passengers to were there early or on time for check-in. The harbour lights. The beautiful old ship. Great weather conditions. Good food. However, the ship was overcrowded, with poor dining facilities. No facilities for disabled, elderly or children.

Vivid Sydney itself was pretty but 90mins was a tad too long and we sailed to some uninteresting parts, including unlit portions of the habour. Commentary was provided only at the start of the tour, even though we passed by many landmarks. Boat seem overbooked with not enough seats (and blankets) to go around. Food was average and also since it was a buffet, portions was either too small or those in the front might have piled their plates. Kids were bored and cold as you had stayed on the exposed deck throughout.

Its an old style ship...We felt a bit like Pirates! There were kids climbing up the mast. It was a very cold night but blankets were offered to help. The views of vivid were amazing. Food however was not too great...I fact we missed out completely as others piled up their plates as it was self serve.. so that was disappointing as it wasn't that cheap to not get food at all.

We had a fantastic cruise on the second night of VIVID 2022. The crew were really friendly and fun and the guests were too. It was such a pleasant change after all the COVID restrictions. Drinks flowed with everyone passing them around and the food was nice. It was a very colourful and fun night on the harbour. So glad we booked.
