One of the best tours we've ever done! Jane was amazing - full of great info on the history of the island, plus she was fascinating and lots of fun. The food we ate was so delicious and varied. Plus we had a nice stop over a tasty run drink for our group to get to know each other. Would highly recommend Jane and this tour!

We got dropped off right at 1pm infront of Firt Christian museum and walked up the hill to the entrance. There were no other people waiting so we asked the staff at the museum as we thought maybe they left us since we didn't arrive 15 minutes early. They told us they had not seen anyone all day and suggested to call them and ask for a refund as it was 1:30pm already. We called and viator gave us the local number. We could not get a hold of anyone at that time. I will write and update if we do get a refund.

This was an amazing food and culture tour! The food our tour guide took us to was soooo good and he gave amazing suggestions on where to go afterwards too, which we appreciated a ton! All of the restaurants we went to were local and had an amazing story to pair with their delicious food too, which we thought was really cool and wholesome. I truly can’t recommend this tour enough! Worth the money and time commitment by a long shot!

The tour was wonderful. We learned a great deal of history of the islands and tasted several of the local favorites. Highly recommend the tour.

This tour is the perfect mix of island history, local flavors, and a scenic walk through historic St. Thomas. What really made it special was our guide, Jane. She was phenomenal, making sure to connect with everyone individually and keeping the energy great throughout. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend it!

Gerard made this tour! His passion and love for the island, its history, culture, and people is so deep and allowed us to really get to know so much in such a short time. The food was the perfect amount to get a taste of St. Thomas' cuisine. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the island.

Jane was a wonderful tour guide! It ended up just being my parents, baby and I and her as our guide for the tour. Since my baby fell asleep in the middle of the tour, she pivoted and took us to a quieter bar for the final drink of the tour rather than what was initially planned. She was very kind and knowledgeable and took time to get to know us as well in between the stops. I definitely recommend the tour; and if you get Jane as your guide, then you’re very lucky!

Your review goes delightfully beyond "the food was great and I learned so much". That is typical of Jane. She loves the island and the folks that come on our tour. Thanks so much. Gerard

Before the tour started the guide told me that the tour is not for swim wear in her opinion and that I should get something to cover up. I had on a shorts sun suit not a swimming suit. She kept giving me the side eye then said I should be fine with what I had on but others may look at me funny. I felt very uncomfortable and left the tour within 10 minutes. I asked others that lived there if I was dressed inappropriate for downtown and I was told no and that alot of people that tour comes off of the cruise ship with swimsuits on and dress more inappropriate to shop downtown. The tour guide refused to give me a refund.

We are sorry that your experience was less than wonderful. Our guide, Jane, is perhaps the best on the island. In addition to having an in-depth knowledge of our local cuisine and history, she has been cited hundreds of times for her friendliness and concern for her guests. Every worthwhile tour book on St. Thomas is quick to explain that local residents and shopkeepers feel disrespected by bare-chested men and skimpy suits worn by visitors. Jane is far from a prude and offered her best advice to you. Our refund policy is clear! Our restaurant partners cooked for you and anticipated your arrival. Again, we are sorry that you did not accept her advice with all the helpfulness that was intended. Gerard

First off, the food was A-MAZ-ING and so was the tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and was able to answer any obscure questions we had! My only complaint is that for the price, I wish we had gotten more food or had gotten to look at more historical sites!

Jane was an excellent tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and gracious with us. Turned out to be a private tour as we were her only guests.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Good to hear. Jane loves her job and not shows!

We had the privilege of exploring Charlotte Amalie with Jane!! She is a beautiful lady who knows all the best places and is in tune with the heart of the community! We enjoyed learning the history of the area while seeing and tasting some of the extraordinary culture up close and personal… my favorite things were the stop at the tea shop and the beautiful hidden alleyways. My husband’s favorite part was her attention to the details of the history and the story behind the delicious food! Overall it was truly a 5 star experience!!

Have been to St. Thomas a few times and wanted to do some non-beach activity this time. We all had a wonderful time with Jane. She was passionate and knowledgeable about the history of St. Thomas. The foods and places chosen felt authentic and were spaced out well giving us a tasteful resprite from the heat.
Denise_M, Mar 2026
Great experience. Gerard was wonderful and a wealth of knowledge. Food was spectacular. Highly recommend.

An easy stroll around historic Charlotte Amalie with stops for food and drink. The tour guide, Jane, was phenomenal. She took us to great places and showed us what town was like. We got to visit places and try things that we wouldn't have otherwise. It was a great experience.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Jane is terrific! She knows the history, where to go, what to eat and even the politics.
Steven_M, Mar 2026
We did a walking tour of the city with our guide, Jane. We made several stops including a tea shop run by Judith, a retired academic. She provided an outstanding description and overview of her home island. Just what we were hoping for. other stops for small samples of local foods and a walking description of the old part of town. Learned a lot and really enjoyed the company of our guide.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Jane is a great "explainer" and clearly loves her work.

Great tour! Learned a lot and really enjoyed it. If you are the curious type, it is for you! Wish I had done closer to my arrival but still worthwhile.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Happy you enjoyed it. Yes, good idea to come early in your visit. We've got the latest info on local events, new dining/fun venues and the best beaches.

We had a lovely afternoon with Gerard. He has so much local knowledge. Less stops then a typical food tour but plenty of good food
Joshua_L, Feb 2026
We had an absolutely incredible time! The tour was amazing from start to finish — so well organized, fun, and truly memorable. Our guide made the entire experience even better with their knowledge, energy, and passion. You can tell they genuinely love what they do, and it made all the difference. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a wonderful experience!

CHARLES_J, Feb 2026
Excellent experience with Jane. She was wonderful at showing the back story of the islands and its people. The food and hospitality were terrific.

This was a great tour. Jane, our tour guide, was amazing. Knowledgeable, kind, welcoming and a true joy to spend time with! If you are interested in the rich history of the island and a small tasting of local food then take this tour!

We had a lovey time with Gerard.
This was the perfect way to get to see Charlotte Amalie and find out about its long colourful history whilst sampling the local delicacies. The food was varied served in absolutely delightful establishments and was delicious.
Gerard was the perfect host throughout, his local knowledge and enthusiasm for the both past and present made it the perfect way for us to spend our brief time on the island. Thanks Gerard for a wonderful 3 hours and for the memories you gave us .
Response from Host, May 2026
it was my pleasure to share this joyous place with you.
Joanne_C, Feb 2026
Gerard is a fabulous ambassador for St Thomas. The interesting historical framework he provided helped us to understand St Thomas as much more than simply a vacation destination. All of our food stops were quaint and the food itself was unique and representative of the island culture of St Thomas. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this really pleasant afternoon.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
St. Thomas is not just another pretty face! The history is engaging and once you hear it, everything about the culture and lifestyle falls into place. We love sharing our fascinating stories as well as our delicious food.
Ron_S, Feb 2026
The tour guide was exceptional in her knowledge of the US Virgin Islands and a sterling conversationalist simply to spend time with over the food and refreshments.
John_R, Feb 2026
Locol history and food we would have not found on our own. Jane, our guide was a wealth of knowledge.
Julie_H, Feb 2026
We missed our booked time due to car trouble and Gerard was flexible enough to schedule us into a later tour. We learned about the island history, culture and food customs along with tasting the cuisine and drinking traditional beverages from local proprietors.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
So happy we found a way to accommodate you. Great fun!
Paula_C, Jan 2026
We thoroughly enjoyed our cultural food walking tour. Our guide was fabulous, friendly and super knowledgeable.
Highly recommend.
Robert_G, Jan 2026
Jane was a superb guide. Her knowledge of the history and culture of the island and the Caribbean in general was encyclopedic and she made the time fly by because of her engaging personality. The food was good but the value of the tour is in using local food and drink as a jumping-off point for exploration of the history and culture of the region. We highly recommend this tour, and it should serve as a great introduction for anyone vacationing on the island.
Jamie_a, Jan 2026
Outstanding your. A friendly guide who shared incredible stories and inside knowledge through her many years of living here.
George_W, Jan 2026
Jane was an amazing guide. We learned so much about the history of St Thomas and the surrounding area. Jane has been on the island for more than 35 years and has her own rich life history to share. We stopped at four different spots for a small snack of local food and drink, which added up to more food than we needed!
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Just what we were hoping you would say. Jane is great and our restaurant partners love showing off their wonderful food.
