Our First time with a tour guide and first time at St Thomas and I must say this was the highlight of our whole week on the island.
So happy we got to spend 5 amazing hours with Freddie! He was very informative , took his time with us and was very kind! Definitely have to come back and book with him when we return to the island! You won’t regret it.

Amazing experience exploring the mangroves and the land and sea in the lagoon. TONS of wildlife and lots of great information about everything that we encountered. Great water and lunch as well. Our guide was amazing and tailored the teaching to each of our kids and both my wife and I (adults and a 9, 7, and 4 year old). All came away very happy and informed. Ended up being a private tour! Highly recommend!

Great tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable. Took his time. Didn’t rush anyone. The lunch was delicious as well; chicken wrap. This is our second time with this company and would go again.

Had a great day .. 5 hours so plenty of time to do all. Kayak, short hike, snorkel. Weather was perfect. We ended up getting a private tour with our young guide. He worked so hard to make sure that we had a great time, and gave us so much interesting information about the sea and island life, history and geography.

We loved this tour! It was fun to kayak in the lagoon and we do a ton of sea life. I held a starfish and we saw a conch come out of the shell. We also saw a blow hole and hundreds of hermit crabs! The scenery was beautiful! I would definitely do this tour again.

Our guide was good and provided a lot of interesting information. Snorkeling was very limited due to murky water but at least it was nice to dip since the tour does involve significant amount of rowing. Water shoes are needed for this activity since both the walk and access to snorkeling are very rocky. Overall we had a good time.

There were only 2 of us signed up for this tour and we appreciate the tour operator not canceling the tour. We had Tyrell as our tour guide and he was great. We kayaked for over 2 miles all over the lagoon, had a good turkey sandwich (so huge my husband and I split one that was much tastier than I expected), did an interesting hike and then got to snorkel for almost 2 hours. We had more time to kayak and snorkel because it was just the 2 of us and Tyrell was very accommodating of our interests and great at telling us where the best spots were to snorkel. Would definitely recommend this tour and company and so glad we opted to sign up on our own and not through our cruise company as their group was over 20 and their excursion was only 3 hours.

Great afternoon! Wear a sun shirt and sunscreen (and maybe bug spray if you get bit a lot). Water is very warm and made for great snorkeling.

We had a great experience with our guide, Dana! Dana was extremely knowledgeable and made the experience interactive by letting us hold sea creatures such as jellyfish, starfish, sea cucumber, and baby sea urchins. He had our safety in mind, while sharing key facts about the lagoon and ecosystem. The kayak trip and hike were amazing and exactly what we were looking for. We went off season and were fortunate to learn our morning tour was just the four of us, becoming an unexpected private tour. I highly recommend this tour to those seeking to learn and enjoy nature.

We did the 5 hour tour with Dana and it was an amazing experience!! If you have any interest at all in learning about local wild life (the world’s most toxic tree, upside down jelly fish, thousands of hermit crabs, sea urchins, sharks, barracuda, sea turtles, etc) then you have to do this excursion. Dana was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. I have never had such a kind tour guide in my life!!
We were given 2 opportunities to snorkel through the 5 hour tour with some kayaking and lunch in between. We opted to just hang out on the beach during the 2nd round of snorkeling and just enjoyed the peace and quiet.
I would recommend wearing a long sleeve UV repellant shirt and wear water shoes! But, in case you forget anything, they have a little shop with all the necessities. If I am ever back in St. Thomas, this will be the first thing I book :) Thank you all so much for such a memorable trip!!

This experience ended up just being two of us and our guide was Swish. We had the best time with him as he was the perfect guide! He was very informative about our surroundings and made sure to show us everything he possibly could, especially during the snorkel portions. We got to see a variety of fish, some barracuda, an octopus, and even some young sharks! If there were objects/animals we could hold, like starfish and conch shells, Swish made sure that we had the opportunity to hold them if we wanted to. He also made sure to take a bunch of pictures of both us and everything we saw so we could relive the memories after the trip. I highly recommend booking through here for your trips as you won’t regret it!

Chrissy and Kyrell were amazing tour guides! Very fun and knowledgeable during our 5 hour trip with them. It was great to get some exercise while getting to see all the plants and wildlife that the mangroves have to offer.

We traveled to Mexico last year and booked a bike tour to several cenotes. It was easily the best part of our trip so when we planned our trip to St Thomas we knew we'd want to add a guide-led tour. My partner and I work in renewable energy so getting to link up with VI Ecotours seemed like a great fit. We were not disappointed! Our guide, Soren, was super knowledgeable and friendly. Learn about killer trees, the beauty of the mangroves, and get up close and personal with Cassiopeia jellyfish! One important note, there is a gun range nearby so you might hear gunfire - avoid if you're suffering from PTSD. If you choose to go, DO splurge on the photo package - it's definitely worth the extra money! Most of the photos I'm sharing were taken by our guide and included in the package. Thanks so much to Soren and the rest of the VI Ecotours team!

The guide was great for the kayaking and nature wak. He did not explain the snorkeling well or details where to go tried to figure out on my own. He also tried to cut my snorkeling out by 15 minutes, despite telling me it was to be finished by 330pm. Overall had a good time!

Devon was the perfect tour guide for our eco tour. He was born and raised in St Thomas and was very knowledgeable. He knew so much about the island and the eco system. At times it was like being with a historian and at other times like being with a biologist. He led us on a 4+ mile kayak, hiking and snorkeling trip. But most important is he let us set the pace for all activities. This was a once in a lifetime type experience. We would highly recommend this tour and Devon as a guide. Also the ladies running the desk were very friendly and accommodating. If you visit St Thomas, don’t miss out on this adventure. Mark, Mary, Kim, and Dennis.

Troy was our guide and I don't think there could have been a more knowledgeable guide out there. He made sure we understood the impact the mangroves have on the eco system. Of course the beauty he took us to and allowed us to touch, and see was breath taking.

This experience although it began with a guide who didn't showed up turned out to be amazing. Our new guide took it upon himself to take on two excursions and showed us a wonderful time. His knowledge was outstanding and he did a great job showing us all the various sea creatures during the snorkeling. The manager also worked with us to make up for the mishap with the first guide.

Upon arrival my wife and I discovered that we had a private tour. And while not planned, we certainly were treated as being special. From the initial welcome, through a discussion on available outfitting and gear from the small shop that delighted my wife and ensured we were properly prepared. My wife is a Docent at the Detroit Zoological Park, so anything to do with nature and wildlife is seriously judged. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable both about the island, the area, and also about the fish and wildlife; plants and trees; and geological history of the lagoon and island. He also was exceptionally open, seeking our input or physical readiness condition for every challenging activity (kayaking against the wind, climbing rock formations, hiking through nature in the sun, Snorkling through the bay and always encouraging hydration or serving us special energy treats (chocolate candy bars). We learned a lot, had fun and did not feel overly stressed or physically burned out. Nice tour finish with a cool drink, and sharing a photo collage that was taken of us throughout our tour, prepared by our guide. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone that loves nature, wants to learn a lot about wildlife, and enjoys a little physical challenge. Mark and Donna Battle - Michigan
