Wow!! What a great day led by an exceptional guide. Lashawn was very knowledgeable about the area and helped us with footholds and grips. This is not an easy hike but the views were well worth it.

A fabulous strenuous hike through the woods to the rim of the volcano crater. The guide, Leshawn was lovely and promised to get us all to the top. This walk is strenuous and involves plenty of scrambling using hands to pull yourself up. We visited from a cruise ship and were therefore on a time limit to get back in time before the ship left. There was another couple on the walk who were less fit and found the walk extremely difficult. Full credit to Leshawn though as he had promised to get us all to the top and back down in time. Half way down, when it became apparent that we were taking too long to complete the walk, he phoned the driver to come and collect us so we could make our own way back to the bottom more quickly. The driver was waiting for us and got us back to the ship with plenty of time to spare. The other couple on the walk were therefore able to take their time with Leshawn and return at their own pace. This walk is difficult and involves plenty of elevation. Although it is cooler in the trees and as you ascend, it could take up to 5 or 6 hours and you should bring water and snacks with you. Don’t even attempt it if you’re not fit.

This is a challenging climb. Approx 7miles we did. It’s very rewarding & we had more than a few laughs! You are dragging yourself up on tree roots & forest leaves/branches in a few areas. I had fingerless gym gloves on which came in very useful!! I am 49, kids 20/22… we managed very well but you really need to be used to hiking mountains. Our guide was very knowledgeable & took breaks when we needed. It is quite expensive considering 1 guide & no discount for more people etc. It was good that transport was included though!

Strenuous but WORTH IT

Fabulous hike climbing through the forest to reach the outer rim of Mount Liamuigo’s crater. The views at the top were well worth the effort to get there. This hike is not for beginners and a guide is necessary as you are climbing up long areas of roots and rocks. Hiking boots or sneakers with traction made the hike more comfortable as it gets very slippery. I suggest workout pants/leggings for woman as you are on your butt sliding a few times. We could not have done it without our amazing guide LaShawn. He knew every area to step and made us feel extremely comfortable and safe - he snaps great photos too 😉 My recommendation is if you are thinking about it - DO IT!!!

Tremendous Volcano hike

Our guide was extremely friendly and knowledgeable on the path, telling us how different leaves of plants/trees could be used as medical herbs. I have hiked before and we climbed to the top in a little more than 2 hours. I have read the other reviews and do concur that at times, the climbing was very challenging. The view from the top is breathtaking. I needed a few more breaks as I felt out of shape. I totally recommend it and would do it again.

Great experience- but tough!

Great experience and hike. There was a mixup with timing as we were coming in on a cruise ship that didn't disembark until 3 hours after our trip start but the tour company was quick to adjust and accomodate. Very hard, but rewarding hike. Recommend for those in shape/experienced hikers.

Incredible hike led by an amazing guide!

This was an incredible, beautiful hike led by our amazing guide Lashaun. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. He did a great job of pointing out hand holds and places to step when things got a bit technical. My wife and I are both very active and in our 50s. This hike was strenuous and challenging, but not overwhelmingly technical. There were a few spots where we had to scramble a bit, but we never felt unsafe as there was no exposure until you get to the summit. It would be more difficult during the rainy season, however we had dry conditions that made for a perfect day.

LaShaun was great, very knowledgeable, and encouraging. The hike was rigorous but definitely worth it; if you like hiking, it's a really fun trail. We were lucky enough to see a monkey and had a very friendly dog join us during our journey. Highly recomment.

Memorable hike

This was a very memorable experience. When they say it could be strenuous, that is an understatement! You are climbing up (and back down) huge tree roots, boulders and narrow passageways. But, getting to the top is worth it. Loved this company because it was just my husband and I with our guide LeShawn. He could see and adapt to our pace, stopped when he felt we needed rest and was very encouraging. He kept telling us you are going to make it, no problem (we are mid 60 year olds and wondered if we’d make it!🤣). If you’re going to do this hike, do it with this company to get this individual attention and help. It was HARD but worth it!! Shout out too, to Waki, the driver. He gave us a small island tour and was very courteous and personable.

This was our favorite excursion on our cruise! The company was great to work with. Our guide Lashaun was the best! Such a sweet, kind, young man. Very knowledgeable and helpful of making sure it was a safe hike. Gave us lots of info on the trails as we went along! Would highly recommended this trip!

Equal parts hike and climb

We are a 55 year old couple in better than average shape. I can tell you, this was equal parts hike and climbing - very tough going up, but equally technical coming down. Roots and rocks made for a challenging outing for sure. Be ready for an extreme and challenging experience. Couldn’t have made it without the fine work of our guide - Lashawn. He was highly proficient, patient and knowledgeable. THANK YOU!

Lashaun, our tour guide was wonderful. Made sure we had a safe hike and very knowledgeable about the plant life. Learned about Frankincense, mango and palm trees, are real sugar cane and had a lot of fun.

We are in our 60’s, fit, and experienced hikers. After reading the reviews, we were concerned about how strenuous the hike was, but after reading reviews about the guides and the trip, we decided to go for it. We had Lashaun, the guide mentioned in the reviews, and he was amazing! He assessed our skills during the warm up hike and then patiently led us every step of the way, always reassuring us that we would do fine. We loved the hike up, and found that we could climb the roots and rocks with his guidance. We were a bit weary on the way down, but took it slow and learned the “butt shuffle” as we did our descent. Definitely prepare to get muddy, wear long pants and prepare to get your hands dirty. It will be an exhilarating and physically challenging experience but well worth it!!!

Much More Than a Walk Thru Woods…

Many thanks to Leshaun for being an excellent guide. He was very helpful by showing best approach to navigate some of the most difficult parts of the trail across rocks or tree roots. He also shared background and history of the trail. My adult daughter and I are very fit and wanted to complete the ascent as quickly as possible. For us, that was 1hr 40mins. Total round trip to/from trailhead, including time to enjoy view at the top (and rest), was 4hrs. The Mt Liamuiga hike is a beautiful trail thru lush forests, diverse foliage, and challenging terrain. This was certainly a highlight for our trip to St Kitts this year.

My daughter and I did the volcano hike with a lovely young guide yesterday. The hike is quite difficult and physically challenging. Unless you are fit I would not attempt it The view from the top was incredible and well worth the effort.

This hike was beautiful and our guide was an expert and entertaining! The hike was definitely moderate to advanced and we would suggest hiking shoes/boots and possibly long pants. You will be using your hands and arms as well as your legs for some steep climbing. The crater at the top is worth the rugged terrain!

The course was very treacherous. It should have been rated so potential clients should know ahead of time the level of difficulty and decide if to participate or not.!I did not make it to the top. I let the others go ahead Other than that the pick up from the hotel was prompt and the driver and your guide was courteous and friendly. I will Never do this again.

The hike is definitely challenging. We had the greatest guide , LeShaun, who was super informative and patient with us as we climbed up and down. Great sites and a lot of great information from LeShaun! It's worth a morning to do this trip, but be prepared to be challenged!

We had such a nice time with LaShaun (sp?). He was super friendly and knowledgeable. The trip was gorgeous and even though it was too cloudy to see anything at the top, We all loved the journey. Definitely hard but it was a rewarding challenge!
