great experience! not an easy hike. Plan on being in good shape and proper foot ware! the guides were friendly and offered water and chips. Grab more than one water! I had two and wish I had three. Beautiful views from the top. Would do it again

Tough hike, but views at top were worth it. Very unique experience. Our guide, Jay, was great - a mix of kindness, patience, and encouragement!

This climb is uphill most of the way (for 2-1/2 hours!) and a full body workout, hiking, climbing, and pulling yourself up over tree roots and rocks/boulders (5 miles round trip). My husband and I are 69/67 yrs., in pretty good shape, work out, and have hiked some challenging hikes, but this one was tough. The last section to top was a steep climb up large rocks. It had started to rain and another guide coming down said there was no visibility, and given that and our fatigue we chose not to finish. Rain made the decline slightly more slippery to navigate. Still it was a fun story to tell friends about, and no regrets. Every muscle in my body hurt for two days! I highly recommend if you’re young-ish and in great shape. A friend shared their pic of the top. Beautiful! Our guides - Jay and Quini - were excellent and offered help over some tricky sections. They were very personable and we enjoyed our conversations.

This is not a beginner hike. It’s fun. It’s longer than you think it’ll be. And it was worth it. Tour guide was very helpful climbing up and over all sorts of roots, rocks, and dirt.

Like others said, strenuous and technical here and there. But if you're in ok shape you should be fine. The guide helps and warns when needed, so no worries. Recommended!!

Great hike, steep terrain, muddy and lots of roots and rocks. If you're a casual hiker, and don't want to slow down the frpup- this is not for you. Guides were outstanding, though the trail is well marked.

Jay was great very understanding of our groups time crunch and still led us to the top in great time! Super helpful & knowledgeable on the hike! Will definitely recommend!
Jason_H, Jan 2026
It was a very challenging hike! Like stop and catch your breath every 20 minutes and take fuel with you…protein bar and Gatorade!! We do not hike often so it was hard, but great feeling when we finished! Jay the guide was so smart and great! If you are looking for a challenge this is it!

Challenging, like other reviews say. View and hike is worth it. Guides were great about stopping periodically, keeping and eye on people and encouraging them. Be realistic about whether you can do a rigorous hike. Slippery, lots of rocks and roots and steep sections, but totally doable if you're in decent shape.

This is NOT a moderate hike it is a difficult hike. Its all body parts on deck. You will need your hands, you will get dirty, you will wonder "what have I done?" but its a good hike. Make sure you have your own medical just in case. Bring: climbing gloves, wear long workout pants (scrapes are a thing) and stretch a lot that morning. Do not do any leg workouts of any kind two days before, this is an endurance hike. I would do it again and make sure I was more prepared though. Goodluck!

My wife and I are avid hikers and have been to at least 10 USA national parks specifically to hike and this was the most difficult hike we have ever done and it was totally worth it. Wear clothes and shoes you don't mind getting dirty and expect to spend a fair amount of time being on all fours to get up the many rock and root scrambles. The tour guide J was so nice and fun and really made sure everyone was doing alright and that we would make it back to our cruise on time occasionally yelling "you guys are moving like you want to miss your boat". The tour ran on time and we made it back to the boat with plenty of time to spare. Would recommend this hike to any adventurous travelers who aren't afraid of some hard work and some dirt

We are avid hikers and this one is tough but well worth the effort. Recommend hiking boots because can be muddy and slick. J is an excellent guide who kept us on pace and super friendly. Gorgeous view at the top. Pack your own snacks-they only offered potato chips at the end. We needed protein bars and nuts.

Extremely challenging hike. Should not considered bringing kids under 12 years old. Transportation to and from the hotel to hiking was convoluted and took over an hour. Glad we did but chooses a different tour operator.
Sharon_G, Dec 2025
Pick up was not organized and they did not realize we were at a hotel not the port.
The guides pushed everyone to walk fast despite how difficult the terrain was
One of the guides was frequently grabbing my 24 year old daughter inappropriately. To clarify she did not need help. She is an experienced climber
This tour was VERY overbooked. 30 people when there should have been 10
There was little to no instruction or information about the hike or anything for that matter
Snacks were Doritos or plantain chips, not great for a 5 hour hike
Water was only given at the bottom and you were expected to carry it yourself
Would definitely NOT recommend this group

The hike/climb itself was challenging hence the difficult grade! There are 4 stages and each one was unique, stage 2 was the hardest and longest but knowing you're halfway there helped motive you to finish. Our guide, Jay, was friendly and would stop if asked, otherwise he just kept moving.
Now the disappointing part, we finished at 1:45pm and were told the driver would be waiting for us when we finished. We waited 45 minutes before pushing Jay to get some answers as our cruise was leaving at 4pm. After the 3rd phone call to the driver, who said he was close by (another 20 minutes waiting) I told Jay to call his boss for options. There weren't any and it's now close 2:50pm. We (4of us) decided to walk down the dirt road to the main road and see about waiving down a taxi. The driver finally showed up, drove like an Indy car driver to the port where we were dropped off at 3:30pm. We still had a ten minute walk back to the ship and had to jog, yes after strenuous 4 hour hike.
While we made it back in time (10 minutes to spare) it was a very stressful and for that reason I would say choose another company as management did nothing to solve the driver issue.

This was a memorable hike that may be strenuous at times but as well worth it for the views and fun. J and Gucci were awesome guides and make sure no one got hurt and everybody made it to the top. If you are in good shape and don’t wanna hit the gym for a day. I recommended it highly.
Angela_L, Nov 2025
The hike is at a rigorous pace (to get you back to your ship on time!) and one where you will have to watch your step, get down on your knees to navigate steep tree root “steps” and mossy rocks. Our guide, Jay, kept an eye on everyone while pushing us forward to make sure we were on time. (We got back an hour earlier than when we told him we had to…which was two hours before the ship left!)
This is a strenuous hike not only because of the pace and altitude, but also because it’s a muddy, slippery, tropical environment. Almost all of the time you’ll be in tree coverage. Lots of climbing and scrambling!
Lisa_K, Nov 2025
They changed the meeting time and we felt rushed and did not have time to complete the hike. The transportation was a small car that smelled of weed and cigarettes. Three adults in a back seat meant for 2 there was not room to breath. They did not have enough water for everyone. We were handed off from man to man 4 times and it made us very uncomfortable. That being said they did get us back to the ship on time.
Robin_M, Nov 2025
Jay and Fully were awesome guides, beautiful view at the top. The guides gave plenty of time for breaks and were super encouraging - it’s a tough hike but well worth it! Ensured we made it back to the port in good time Highly recommend.
Karen_K, Nov 2025
This is NOT a leisurely hike! This is a very long 5 mile intense hike including climbing through narrow rocky terrain on all fours! Other reviews play the difficulty down. My husband and I hike and are fit & we did fine. But our guide gave very little information about the hike. I don’t know if he was either not knowledgeable or did not attempt to provide any information about what we were seeing. The area was a beautiful dense tropical forest. Our guides were quiet most of the time unless we asked a question. We had two guides, one in the front and one in the back they did not warn us of low hanging trees difficult areas. We had two minor injuries on the hike and the guide said he forgot first aid kit. We were lucky that no one else was injured more seriously. The guides were ill equipped.
To top it all off when we got to the peak it was completely cloudy so there was no view. But at that point, I was more worried about our safety getting back down the trail.

A challenging hike with rewarding views from the top. Highly recommend this activity. Welcome To St Kitts handled everything really well. Danny was our main point of contact and his communication through WhatsApp was incredible. I even coordinated our airport transfers with him directly which worked out great. He was punctual and extremely reliable. Jay, our hiking guide, is extremely experienced and got us up and down safely. He also packed some snacks and drinks which was extremely helpful. My wife and I are experienced at hiking but still found this to be a challenging hike. On a difficulty scale of 1-10 we rate it 7-8. Our 12 year old daughter made it up and down as well. She too is experienced at hiking but she passed out afterwards around 6pm and slept for 15 hours. A good indication that this posed quite the challenge. All in all this is something we definitely wanted to do as the views are just incredible from the top. If you’re looking to do something active and challenging this is the activity for you!

We had a great experience even despite getting rained on. The hike is very strenuous and technical but ends with a great view. You will be getting a little dirty climbing over rocks and roots. Gloves might be helpful. You will feel it the next day. Our guide Jey was awesome and got us to the top and back with plenty of time to get back to the cruise ship.
Sabriya_E, Jul 2025
J was awesome! Knowledgeable, kind and patient! The hike was incredible, physically challenging and amazingly rewarding to reach the top. Stunningly beautiful trees and forests!
Mark_R, Jul 2025
The company called me at my pickup time while I was waiting for the bus to pick me up telling me we booked to late the previous day mean while changing me the fare. It was a good thing the hotel staff found me another person to guide me on the trip up to the volcano and it was cheaper.
KarelMaria_T, Apr 2025
The final views at the top are amazing! This was such a great opportunity to get out and be surrounded by nature. The climb was brutal but our guide, Jey, provided encouragement and advice the whole way.
Ashley_W, Apr 2025
This was an incredibly fun and challenging adventure led by a knowledgeable & energetic guide. We had a blast, learned a lot, & have already recommended to friends. We can’t wait to come back for another adventure with Jey on the island. Top notch!
Melina_O, Apr 2025
We had a great hike with Jay and Raheem. This hike definitely requires a certain level of fitness. 4.5mi up and back with 2000ft elevation gain. Some parts of trail were muddy with slippery roots and a scramble over rocks near the top. Lush forest, and great views into the caldera from the top.
Kati_Y, Apr 2025
Fabulous views and wonderful experience.
I was nervous about booking outside of my cruise line…. This trip was top notch. Communication the week of was great, directions to meeting location were super easy, it’s right at the port. The guides and drivers were friendly, on time, courteous and knowledgeable. The group size is limited to 15 which is phenomenal. We passed the excursion from our Cruise boat on the way up- there group was 2-3x the size of ours- we were so thankful for our experience.
This hike is a tough one it’s about 2200 in elevation over 2.5 miles. A few areas where you ascend require the use of roots and rocks like a ladder and the use of your hands to climb.
Daniel_N, Mar 2025
Beautiful hiking was extreme 5 mile extremely hike crawling in some spots vertical rock climbing must be in good shape
Sheryl_C, Mar 2025
First of all, this is a VERY challenging excursion. Several in the party stopped and wanted to go back. That’s just part of my problem with this tour guide and excursion. I was on an excursion and was told they would be back on board at 2 PM. 4 PM rolled around and they were not on board. The tour operator did not answer any inquiries about the status, so I contacted via a Tour. Via Tour attempted multiple times to contact them as well with no results. Because the ship was getting ready to leave within 30 minutes, both via Tour and Royal Caribbean advised me to contact the port authorities to make them aware. I tried for over two hours to contact them as did Viator. No response at all. My family did make them back safely in the neck of time. They said they waited for long periods of time waiting for transportation to show up, and they waited in the rain! I’ve never had a problem with an excursion booked through Viator until this one.

Hi, Sorry about you being unsatisfied, I understand that we may miss a few calls especially when a ship is docked because we recieve so many calls on a daily,But we always make sure that all our excursions are completed in time to avoid passengers being late to the ship. You may have booked the excursion but you didnt experience it as you were on another excursion, we recommend you write reviews about your personal experience as
Reviews should be about your own personal experience and not of others.Again sorry for you not being happy, may god bless you.
