This was an excellent tour of Split and Diocletian’s palace. Very thorough and lots of interesting facts and context. Only con was that it was longer than represented and a little too long at 3 hours.

Mario was a fantastic guide, a genuine educator full of stories to bring you into the period, questions to open your mind and keen to myth-bust some of the 'facts' given by less scrupulous guides elsewhere.
He even overran slightly so he could give us more and better stories about local life as well as his recommendations for food and onward travel. He even followed up on where I had been during the rest of my trip - a brilliant person to have as your navigator of the area's culture and history.

The experience was excellent. Mario is very well prepared, a true historian, and if you really are interested in the history, this is your guy. He was very thorough, considerate of other tour guides, still keeping the group engaged and passing all his knowledge along. He also shares tips for foodies, where to go, where not to go, which ATM/Banks to use and which ones not to use. I highly recommend his tour.

Excellent tour of the Diocletian Palace and the rest of the Split Old Town. It's still amazing to see a living part of the city that's over 1700 years old! Our guide Mario was very knowledgeable of historic facts, as well as restaurants and shops to visit in and around the Old Town. He spoke well and kept our attention with his fun stories. He was kind enough to keep us in the shade while speaking and moved us around enough so that our backs didn't hurt from standing in one spot too long. We really appreciated this.
