Unfortunately the day...

Unfortunately the day didn’t go as planned. We spent £500 on a tour where we were left stranded for two hours. The itinerary wasn’t delivered as scheduled on here. We were rushed all day and didn’t get very much time on the glacier sledding. We did not receive refreshments or liqueur as written in the itinerary. We did not see the geysirs - by the time we arrived there, it was 6.30pm/dark and a huge snowstorm. Weather cannot be helped and it was a snowy day. However, a tour should not be operated and should be cancelled, if the experience advertised cannot be delivered. The golden circle landmarks were not guided. We had to find our own way round them and received very little information on them. The company will not give any form of refund, which is unfortunate as what could have been worth a £500 trip, unfortunately wasn’t. Positives- we did have fun sledding (for the ten minutes that we sledded) we didn't golf but we did get a sugar donut. We did enjoy looking around the waterfall gift shop- however two hours was a little too long I’m afraid. The tour guide for the glaciers was very informative and interesting on the way to and from the glacier.

Iceland’s weather can be unpredictable, especially during the winter months, and unfortunately, the snow and road conditions on the day of your tour caused delays and adjustments to the schedule. While all main parts of the experience — including the Golden Circle highlights, the glacier visit, and the Geysir area — were completed, we completely understand that the conditions and timing affected how the day felt for you and your family. Winter weather can be expected in late autumn, and as the weather forecast for the glacier was favorable, the tour went ahead as planned. During the glacier stop, refreshments were offered to guests; however, as you and your family were still enjoying the sledding activity at that time, it’s seems you missed the opportunity to have them. Your feedback is genuinely appreciated and helps us continue to improve communication and guest comfort on days when nature has other plans. This was one of the best excursions we have had in our many years of travelling! The staff was very knowledgeable and extremely professional! It was the highlight of our visit to Iceland. Would do it again in a heartbeat!!
