- About Tonle Sap Tour: The end of March to the end of July is a crucial time in all the floating villages in Siem Reap, as the water levels start to recede and present a unique opportunity for tourists to experience a new perspective. Although the picturesque landscape of the floating community may lose some of its charm during this time, visitors have a chance to immerse themselves in the daily life of the villagers living in the dried season. While some boats may become stuck, and smaller canoes are unable to traverse the jungle forest, these challenges add to the thrill of the experience. The dry season in floating village of Kompong Phluk may not be the ideal time to visit for those seeking postcard-perfect photos, but it offers a chance to witness a facet of the village’s daily life that is not typically seen. As they say, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. We recommend visitors to embrace this rare chance to witness a different facet of this incredible destination and truly get a different taste of life in the village.

We had a private tour and Ms. Phanne was amazing. She had so much knowledge about all the temples. As it was a private tour Ms. Phanne adjusted the schedule based on our interests and energy levels. Temperatures were ridiculous but our driver had ice cold flannels and water ready for us each time we got back to the van.

We had a great 2 day private tour! Mrs Phanne was knowledgeable, personable and willing to customize our 2 days to meet our available time. She knew the best place to wait for sunrise over Angkor Wat and which were the ‘must see’ temples when we had to shorten our second day.
Our driver, Mr Ta, was always waiting with cold water and cold scented cloths - very refreshing.

My tour guide, Phanne was incredible! She took me to so many temples in the Angkor area: Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Ta Prohm Temple (the one with the tree roots encasing several of the structures), and we went a bit north to see Banteay Srei. As well as going to the Kampong Phluk floating village area.
It was a solidly packed two days! We visited probably 5 different temples (Wats) each day. The first day, we went to see the sunset at the Phnom Bakheng Temple - which was marvelous! And the second day, we got up early and went to see the sunrise at Angkor Wat - which was INCREDIBLE! Never seen anything like that before! The changing colors of the sky as they illuminated the magnificent grandeur of the towers of Angkor Wat, silhouetted in the foreground. Phanne knew just where to go and she was always timing our visits to get around the crowded times at places (except for the sunrise/sunset times because "everyone" has to be in those locations at a specific time - so, that is to be expected).
Since this was a small group tour, it was easy to talk with Phanne and I feel like I got to know about the Temples, the religion, the history and the people of Cambodia much better than had I been in a larger tour group. I think that's what made this particular tour incredibly worth the price! I could see larger tour groups just moving through. Phanne would stop and take time for us to rest and chat about life in Cambodia in the past and current. And about the stories that make up many of the carvings and symbols we were seeing on the temples.
I also have to give a shout out to our driver, Mr. Sobon who was always there to pick us up in his air conditioned Lexus SUV and had cold waters on hand at all times! When we were done at a particular location, she'd call him on the phone and he'd be there! Magical!
Following the two day tour with Phanne, I had one additional day in Siem Reap and I went to the Angkor National Museum. I am SO GLAD I did this, and did this AFTER our tour together. At the museum, I was able to see and read more about what Phanne had told me on the tour and it really helped to put it all in perspective. To be able to see which Kings built which temples, and the many stories from Hindu and Buddhist teachings. I feel like that helped me to connect some of the dots since the tour days are long and there's a lot of information and sites to digest.
I highly recommend this tour! My travels on this trip took me to Thailand and Cambodia, and I took about 8 different Viator tours (food tasting, speedboats out to the Phi Phi Islands, mountain tours...) and by far, this tour was the most memorable! The others were good, no doubt. But, this experience is one that I will remember for a long time, and will continue to do some more reading about the history of Cambodia and the temples as a result.

Saylor was a excellent guide. He is very personable, he provided us with lots of good history and information. His English was perfect. He was well organized. I highly recommend Saylor and his private guide services. The driver was great. Mr Sa was a great guide. Provided plenty of historical info about the temples and was flexible about where we went and when since it was a private tour. But the best part....the most important part....this man knew all the best places and angles to take the most AMAZING pictures of me and my wife at the temples. The tour was fantastic and Mr Sam was the BEST tour guide. His English is excellent and he is very informative, engaged and friendly. He made sure everything went smoothly and knew all the best places to take photos and even helped take photos everywhere. He has a good sense of humour and you will not find a better tour guide in Siem Reap / Angkor Wat. Our driver Mr Tha was also excellent, always on time with picking up, safe driving and provided cold water and a refreshing cold towel to cool off after each stop, which was really welcome. All in all, the tour covered all the best parts of Siem Reap and Angkor Wat and was really enjoyable. I can't recommend this enough!

The customer service was excellent. The tours were informative and our tour guide Sean made them interesting. He was genuine and helpful. Our drive Mr. Savong was always on time and prepared a cold towel each time we arrive back at the car from the temples. Although it's a small gesture, it was something we look forward to after really hot walks under the sun.
The tour was flexible and private for me and my wife. Sean took many pictures for us and provided tips and guided us through all the sites.

Excellent tour and I highly recommend our tour guide Seila. He was so knowledgeable and experienced and the tour was so well organized. This 2 day tour was the perfect way to see the highlights of Siem Reap on our quick 3 day/2 night trip. Our guide, Mr. Makara, and driver, Mr. Phat, took great care of us providing cold water and cold towels after each stop and being very flexible with us adding/removing stops as needed to fit our schedule and desired itinerary. Mr. Makara was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining, even for my preteen kids. It was my 3rd time touring the temples and I still learned so much. He knows all the best spots to take pictures and is a master at taking pics (portrait, panoramic, etc.) so that each shot is perfectly framed to enhance the shot. We were so impressed with the pictures he took of us. We highly recommend this tour, ask for Makara!

This tour was absolutely incredible. We had no idea what to expect but our guide was Kamsan Sreng and the very nice driver Mr. Kim were both very gracious and caring. We were very well cared for throughout. Kamsan was incredibly knowledgeable and speaks great English. He was very flexible, and worked with us to make a great itinerary so we were able to make the best use of time. Got to see all the temples we wanted and the floating village. Highly recommend!
