Michael was an incredible guide, and this tour was an example of why you should use a professional tour service as opposed to just figuring things out on your own.
Michael and his driver picked us up at our hotel as arranged and we headed to the pier for the cruise. On the way, he gave us some very interesting information about sites and history of Shanghai. Once we arrived at the pier, it was much busier than expected due to a recent policy change at the pier, but since Michael is a well respected and connected tour guide, he was able to make some last minute changes which we could never have done on our own, and instead of waiting for over an hour, he had us on a ship in the VIP area within 15 minutes. Amazing!
I couldn't recommend this tour enough, and especially Michael! He was extremely knowledgeable, very friendly, and his English was excellent. You can tell he loves what he does, and that's exactly the kind of guide you want to have while on vacation. Thank you!
A great experience with our 1:1 guide Michael. The 1hr boat trip was wonderful with access to the VIP area giving great views of the Shanghai skyline, seating, complimentary drinks and snacks and an air conditioned area. The meal afterwards was great with Michael expertly guiding us to a spot in a mall that we would never have found! Many thanks Michael for a wonderful evening experience.

Highly recommend this private tour experience! The team was very communicative leading up to the tour and made sure all the logistics are squared away. Our driver to/from the hotel was prompt and fun, and our tour guide Annie was great! Very charismati, accomodating and knowledgeable. This is a great tour to book if you’re looking for a private, well-organized VIP experience.

We had an amazing time with our English speaking tour guide Roy! After an amazing dinner at a local restaurant we were treated to a wonderful river cruise and spectacular view of the Shanghai waterway! Roy had great energy and I highly recommend this tour.
Michael took us to a restaurant where he ordered some authentic chinese food for us to try, and it was delicious! Especially the prawn balls which came out with some dry ice for a special effect!
For booked VIP tickets for the river cruise and i can honestly say it was the best decision ever. The large boat was super crowded in the regular tickets, but with the VIP area, we were lucky enough to only have three other people to share it with. And we had some crisps and a soft drink included. I cannot recommend it enough!

We started out with Lea taking us to a local restaurant, and as a picky eater I was nervous, but Lea was very helpful and we had an amazing dinner experience. Next we went to the river cruise (we had the VIP tickets, which I would highly recommend as there was extra space to take great photos. Lea provided great insight into the history and culture of the area. She was a delight to be with for the evening, it was if we were out for the evening with a friend, and we wished she would be our guide for our next two tours, but she was already booked.
Michael was wonderful. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed his knowledge of Shanghai and attentiveness. Seeing the city at night was spectacular and learning about its history from Michael brought the old and new into perspective. The dinner at a local restaurant was outstanding!
What an enjoyable tour of Shanghai’s spectacular and iconic river views! We learned a lot about Shanghai’s history and Chinese culture in general from our excellent tour guide Michael, who was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The dinner was delicious and a great opportunity to sample authentic local cuisine. Thank you, Michael, and also Charles, our nice driver and Sunny, who organized the tour! It was a truly wonderful way to bid farewell to 2025!
We were picked up from our hotel in a luxury van and driven to the restaurant where we were greeted by Cassie. After dinner we were went on to the boat for a spectacular view of Shanghai by night from the VIP are on the top deck. Cassie was informative and lots of fun - taking many memorable pictures of us.. Highly recommended.

Beautiful view of the night time lights. VIP view definitely worth it as it was uncrowded and view was unlimited. Easy to take good pictures which our guide, Cassie, did for us! Driver picked us up in a nice car and you can choose what type of restaurant to go to for dinner. Cassie described what we were seeing and we got a complimentary drink and bag of potatoes chips.
The Shanghai Huangpu River Cruise was an amazing time with beautiful views of both sides of the river. The Pudong side and the Bund views were up close and fantastic. Lea, our private tour guide was very friendly, informative and professional. Lea took us to a restaurant for dinner, which was part of the tour package. The food was so delicious. Fantastic experience! First, a nighttime river cruise on the Huang Pu river with the light show on the futuristic Pudong skyline followed by a delicious authentic traditional dinner. Cassie is an excellent tour guide. I give her and the experience 5 stars!

The ferry cruise was excellent. Lucy was a great guide, we went during golden week in China and she still managed to get us the best seats on the cruise. So informative and friendly. Would highly recommend.

We did the cruise with two families and it was fantastic. The dinner was at a restaurant and not the boat but it wasn’t a problem as it allowed us to eat before cruise. The restaurant was really good and probably some of the best food we had in Shanghai.
Afterwards the company organised VIP tickets on the boat and we got really great views of all the buildings. Our host was Sammy and she was very good company, informative and friendly and looked after us really well.
Lastly the whole process of booking and communication was really good , the company were very easy to deal with and even accommodated last minute pickup point changes on our side.
Wow! What a wonderful way to spend an in evening in Shanghai. A delicious meal followed by a cruise. Our hostess with the hostess, Leah took care of all our needs. She was a very informative guide and gave us an insight into Shanghai we would not have got on our own. Thanks Leah, you were great@
The river cruise was a splendid boat trip! We thoroughly enjoyed the stunning night views of the city’s skyline. Our guide Shirley was the perfect host - she even provided us with tickets to the Chinese Circus in Shanghai, which was absolutely spectacular!
We did this trip on our first night in Shanghai when we were all quite tired with jet leg having arrived from London that morning. I’m so glad we did go. The guide was super communicative and arranged for a lovely car to pick us up from our hotel. We almost missed the boat as we were late arriving (entirely our fault) but our guide led us with a quick run to get on the boat.
We did the 6.50pm sailing which is recommend as you depart in the light, sails during sunset and arrive back in darkness. The photos we got were amazing. When we arrived there was another car waiting to collect us to return us to our hotel.
Our guide Sunny was the star of the show. She was lovely and so informative, looking after us and making sure she sent pictures of the whole group to mark the occasion.
Overall an excellent experience
The views from the boat are amazing. Very worthwhile. Our dinner was also very delicious in Shanghai Tower, and Fassie our guide was great. Very good trip.
My tour guide Roy organized everything concerning tickets and smooth boarding even though it was a very busy night. The VIP seats on deck provide a really good view of the Shanghai skyline and the night was warm and pleasant. I wanted to get some good photos, and I really did. After the boat trip, we had a very nice dinner sampling high quality local food.
This sights are wonderful. I need to post some extra appreciation for Sunny who shuffled plans to accommodate us when our incoming flight was delayed. It worked out perfectly!
We were warmly greeted by our tour guide, she had a plesent friendly nature and spoke good English. She was an excellent guide well versed and informative as the cruise progressed. It was an amazing experience to view Shanghai's city skyline by a river cruise at night, my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone
