The trail ride was extremely well run, and the horses were steady and patient. The trail runs along (and sometimes through) a narrow river, then climbs to the top of the canyon, where the view is awesome. Rappelling down the rock is an option (I was a spectator). The package included a simple, wholesome lunch on a comfortable porch. The guide and staff did an excellent job.

We are so glad we did this activity! At the end of the day we couldn't stop smiling and were so sore we could barely walk! The horses and cowboys were so much fun. The trails were more challenging than we thought but thoroughly enjoyable.

The half day horse riding experience, exploring the canyons was wonderful and we would highly recommend it. The canyon territory is beautiful and scenic.
Karen_N, Jan 2026
Very enjoyable. We were picked up in comfort taken to the stables. There were 5 in our group. The horses are so smart and gentle. Crossing water several times. Then up a beautiful trail.
We had cowboys and dogs with us the whole time. Wonderful experience

This was a fabulous horseback adventure. The views are spectacular and the Cowboys are so helpful, the horses were very calm and knew the route well. . It’s not a ride for beginners, but it wasn’t too difficult.

This was our favorite experience on our trip. The view up the canyon is incredible. The guides do a great job of putting you on a horse that fits you. They allowed time for galloping around the canyon edge for those that were comfortable. Lots of water crossings and crazy climbs. Rodrigo, the guide, and his dogs stayed very close and took amazing photos. That was really my only complaint. You aren't supposed to take pics because you may drop your phone. I wish we could have taken more but he takes several and uses a drone that you can buy at the end. The lunch was FANTASTIC. Highly recommend doing this excursion.

June was an amazing guide. They took such good care of my two kids. They had extra cowboys to help with the many young children on the tour. The scenery was beautiful. I would recommend this to anyone!

We had an amazing day on the tour. Pickup location was easy to find and it’s a short 30
minute drive to the ranch. We did the 12pm departure so lunch was provided first, with beer for purchase. The lunch was delicious and there was plenty, we were stuffed. The ride itself was beautiful and our cowboys were awesome. Bonus dog companions follow you the whole way which we loved. Would highly recommend for an afternoon, only way to see the sights of this canyon! Long pants definitely a must as you are going through narrow paths with lots of prickly bushes.

Epic doesn’t even begin to do this justice! This isn’t your average horse trail - this is a technical and amazingly adventurous ride! We went rappelling in the middle of the ride and it was one for the books!! All the cowboys and main cowgirl June made everything perfect!

Fun, Challenging, well managed . Great location, terrific horses. Cowboys did a great job. Great lunch!

This was an extraordinary experience that surprised my wife and I. We loved all of our time. And felt it was the perfect day. Horses, guides, lunch all 5 out of 5 stars. The lower creek trail starts with horses splashing through and across the stream. We trotted and cantered on long straight paths safely with expert guides. We are not used to riding but we have experience. Our primary guide Yunuen “June” is a trained equine therapist as well as a bilingual local expert who explained the land, plants and contemporary politics of this region. She is superb as a communicator and friendly guide. I cannot imagine a better 2.5 hours for a horseback ride or more beautiful scenery which included high vistas of the canyon. Trail was steep and winding which made it seem like a real challenge. The horses did their job! “June” introduced us to indigenous history, stories and symbols but only because we asked. She rode near us and took great pictures of our experience. Highly recommend for vigorous adventure seekers!

This was the most epic ride I have ever done. The horses are real working horses and so very responsive. They trot a lot and Gallup. It is amazing how the horses navigate the steepness and the rocks of the trail. An unbelievably amazing experience.

What an experience! The entire family enjoyed this adventure. Let me begin with the cowboy/guides; they were professional and completely in control looking out for each and every one of us. The views were incredible and while the ride was definitely challenging, we always felt safe. And the evening traditional meal was delicious. Great experience. Thanks June and all the cowboys!

We had an absolutely incredible experience riding along, up and down the beautiful canyon with beautiful views. Our guides, Federico, Javier and Antonio were all wonderful and took great care of us during our 2 1/2 hour ride with them. They were kind, informative and professional. We would highly recommend this tour!

This was a great experience! The guides were informative making this an easy learning process for beginners and equally as fun for those with riding experience! Definitely will come back again

This day was fantastic. My partner and I had not ridden a horse in over 30 years, so we were a bit nervous. After arriving at the ranch community at Coyote Canyon (about 30 minutes outside of Mexico City), we were put at ease and provided with instructions on what to expect and how to ride the horses properly and safely. We then set off accompanied by 4 or 5 rancheros (our group size was four) and our guide, Frederico, who watched us closely and corrected our form during the first part of the ride. We spent the next two and a half hours riding through the canyon --- the first half of the ride up to the top of the canyon and the second half back down the canyon and back to the ranch. The views throughout the canyon were just spectacular. The horses were so well behaved and knew exactly what they were doing the entire way. After the ride, we were treated to a traditional organic Mexican lunch. The day ended with a drive back to town where we were dropped off. Overall, a great day. I would recommend this riding adventure to anyone looking to do something different and experience the outdoors away from town for the day.

Juanita and her cowboys were amazing guides! They were supportive and informative, and let us have so much fun. The trail itself is gorgeous and moderately challenging, and the lunch served later was authentic and so tasty. We will tell anyone going to San Miguel area about this experience and would definitely return ourselves.
Kimberly_I, Feb 2024
This was a beautiful fun experience but very physical as it is a 2.5 hours ride up to the top of a canyon and back. Delicious lunch at the end.
Yldefonso_L, Jan 2024
It was excellent. We had a great time. Very well organized. Horses are beautiful and clearly in good health. Lunch was very good and healthy.

This was an excellent outdoor adventure, and Federico was an excellent guide. A 3-hour horseback ride through a scenic canyon; steady, well trained horses; three attentive guides and a tasty lunch to wrap it up. Location is only 30 minutes from SMA Centro area, with transportation included.

One of the best days of my life! I LOVE horses and horseback riding and this was a magical experience. Our guide, Federico, was amazing and made us feel super comfortable - i loved it! My mom was super nervous about it because it was her first time and she didn't enjoy it as much because the trail can get intense but i loved it and would highly recommend for the nature/animal lovers!

This was the highlight of my vacation. It was our 1st time on a horse and to have experienced it on a mountain side, was just amazing. Our guide was very knowledgable and she was attentive. Overall it was a great experience. I highly recommend
Ken_V, Dec 2023
Best horseback riding experience. 2.5 hours riding through amazing canyons, streams and bluffs. Capped off with an excellent authentic Mexican lunch at a local rancher’s home. The guide was amazing and the cowboys very professional and attentive to our safety. A highlight of our time here for sure.
Alina_M, Nov 2023
The animals were well taken care of. The views were awesome and the wranglers did a great job. It was the first time my son had ridden a horse and he loved it and as an experienced rider myself, there were several opportunities to Gallup. Loved it.
Didier_S, Nov 2023
A really great nature experience and the guides and horses are just great! We were a family of 4 (11,8) and the cowboys took care of the kids ike their own! The food is also just delicious home made Mexican food, served with mucho cariño.
Lola_R, Oct 2023
We had an amazing time! It was a beautiful trek and the handlers really look out for you. The lunch was good too.
Belinda_H, Sep 2023
It was a beautiful ride and we all loved it! The guides were all very attentive at all times. It was fun going through the water crossings and up the mountain paths to the top of the canyon!
Marc_A, Apr 2023
Excellent cowboy guides for this tough terrain. We were able to full gallop several times in the canyon which was thrilling. The views were out of a Clint Eastwood movie.

First the good.
This is a stunningly beautiful experience. One of the best scenic places I’ve been.
Horses are incredible and well behaved. They are truly amazing and chill.
The riding instruction was helpful and clear. Mostly just have fun and don’t worry the horse knows the way is all you really need to know.
Food was really good. But beers are not included. Should be.
The bad.
The vans do not have seatbelts. I’ve traveled the world and seen people die because of this. Please fix.
The ride. While gorgeous is really long. 4 hours is no joke.
The terrain is scary for a novice rider. However the kids on the ride loved it.
Lastly, the group is way too large and the large Texas family shouldn’t be in a van with others. Nothing is more offensive than kids (teenagers) yelling at their mother.
This could have been managed by breaking up the groups. We would enthusiastically pay 50% more for small-group (4-6 riders, no under 18) option.
