This tour was wonderful! Reims, the cathedral, Veuve Cliquot and the Champagne region was fascinating. The lunch was outstanding. The best part of all was Radames! You need to request him as your guide. He is knowledgable and made the day enjoyable beyond expectations. He is a must!

Pierre was a great guide and really fun to be with. He taught us a lot throughout the day and seeing Veuve Clicquot was amazing and then we had a nice tour of Reims cathedral and a beautiful drive through the countryside with a delicious lunch. Ended the day with a small champagne house which we all loved too. Definitely recommend!!

Meet your guide and a small group of up to eight people at Reims central train station and board the air-conditioned minivan. Set out to explore Reims, the Champagne capital of France.

On the way, hear about Reims, the city of Coronations, and start with a visit to the magnificent Notre-Dame de Reims Cathedral. Explore inside the UNESCO-listed wonder on a guided tour and admire the 13th-century cathedral, with its striking Gothic architecture and beautiful stained glass windows.

Then, arrive at the Veuve Clicquot Champagne estate (visit and tasting fees included). Enjoy a guided tour of the grand estate, finishing with a tasting of four glasses of Champagne.

After that, take a scenic drive through the vineyards of Montagne de Reims, passing through the Grand Cru villages of Verzy, Verzenay, and Bouzy, as your guide explains the Champagne-making process and the importance of ‘terroir’ in cultivating the grapes

After a delicious lunch, visit a family-owned Champagne house to learn about how the bubbly beverage is made
Finish this amazing program with another tasting of Champagne glasses and then return to the Reims train station.

A Private and Magical Experience with France Intense v/Radames Pera

We had booked a guided tour of a couple of champagne houses in the Reims area and were informed that we would meet at the train station and join a car with six other people and an English-speaking guide. When we arrived, we found out that we were the only ones on the tour, which we thought was absolutely perfect. We started by meeting our guide, Radames Pera, an exceptionally friendly American who has been living in France for over eight years. He shared stories about the origins of Champagne and clearly knew what he was talking about. After a wonderful tour at Veuve Clicquot, we drove to a small village called Hautvillers, where we had a thorough and lovely tour among the village’s many producers. We then went to a small local restaurant called Restaurant Le Bateau Lavoir, where we had lunch and got to taste the owner's own Champagne, which was very good. Afterwards, we drove to Épernay, where we enjoyed another great tour among even more producers, before heading to the producer Michel Fagot. Here, our own tour guide gave us a guided tour once again, clearly showing his knowledge and passion. When the tour ended, we tasted several different varieties of Champagne they produce — all of which were excellent. After we finished, he drove us right to the door of our hotel, saving us from having to carry all the bottles we had bought during the day. We had an absolutely amazing day and learned so much about the region and the history of Champagne. I would definitely recommend using this tour company, and of course, I highly recommend Radames Pera, who undoubtedly made the entire experience even better for us. Thank you so much — we’ll be back! 😊

A great tour with Pierre

After taking another Viator tour that we didn’t like, we were hesitant to start this one. But we were more than pleasantly surprised with how much we enjoyed this tour. We took the train from Paris to Reims to begin the tour and were picked up at the station by Pierre. We were joined by another family for our group of seven in a minivan. Eight would’ve been very tight, but seven worked great. Pierre is a native of Reims and gave us lots of history and local color all presented with a decidedly French sense of humor. We had a great tour of Veuve Cliquot, followed by lunch at a out-of-the-way French bistro, and a lovely visit to a small, family-owned champagne house. We met the family and had a great personal tour and tasting. Pierre topped off our visit by ending our day with a stop on a hilltop overlooking the villages of the area. It was beautiful! We returned to the train station and, after finding our train was running late, spent a few hours in the village of Reims, which we absolutely loved. I highly recommend ending your day with this stop. All in all, a 10 out of 10 day.

Thoroughly enjoyed having a private tour for our group of seven. Pierre our guide spoke excellent English and kept everyone entertained. Unfortunately did not get to see the cathedral as the train back to Paris we needed to be on left at 4:15. Other options are available, but you need to put some time into planning the train rides.

I’m physically ill over how much I spent on this tour for what it was. Sure, pick up was great, Veuve was amazing, and a quick tour of Reims cathedral was great too. But the second half of the day is where it goes downhill. We spent more time driving to a quaint cafe and sitting there for what seemed like forever and given a choice of skate wing or castrated rooster, an appetizer or dessert and a small glass of champagne. Then we spent more time in the car and when we finally made it to the next champagne house - your driver gives you a quick tour and then you get 2 small glasses. I’d recommend saving your money and booking directly with the champagne houses. Felt like we wasted so much time driving and sitting around for lunch.

Tours such as these are made or fail based on the tour Guide. Most certainly the venues, no doubt, are paramount but without a knowledgeable guide you are only half way there. Radames was our Expert Guide with France Intense for an amazing Champagne Tour of Veuve Clicquot and Michel Fagot. Radames’ long tenure in the region, expertise and affability were key to an extremely enjoyable tour. Rads intimate understanding is buttressed by the simple fact he lives right in the middle of the Champagne Region. The lunch was clearly classic French “home cooking” and enjoyed by all. Pierre was fantastic! Funny and personable. He knows a lot about the region as he’s local. We went to Veuve, Norte Dame, had lunch (which was so good) and ended at a small champagne house. If you’re coming from Paris, I suggest taking the train early to ensure you get to the tour on time.

This was absolutely horrible. I waited for over 30 minutes and no tour guys showed up so therefore I was unable to experience. What made the situation even more frustrating was that I booked train tickets and paid about $200 to get here for nothing. Would definitely not recommend. I even reached out to Viator for a full refund and they are threatening to through this to collections

Then you informed us that the train was cancelled and that you wanted to be refunded. We explained you that our company could not be held responsible for any train delay or cancellation and that it was too late for a refund as per as the cancellation policy, which is already very flexible. Moreover, after checking, all the trains from Paris to Reims on that date arrived on time. Therre were no delay, no cancellation at all… Few minutes after our prompt reply, you responded us that you were on your way, so we made our best to wait for you as long as we could. Our guide was ready to pick you up but unfortunately, after that, you never responded to any other messages or phone calls. Please note that all our partners invoiced us even if you did not join the tour. We are very disappointed about your comment which is inappropriate and which does not reflect the reality. Our guide was great. Informative & entertaining. Verve Clicquot was a must. The tour & tasting were captivating. In cooler weather bring a jumper/jacket as underground cellars can be cold! The restaurant where we had lunch was delicious & picturesque. Definitely a Paris highlight. I’d recommend booking train to Reims in advance, if that’s how you’re getting there!

Pierre was a great driver and guide for the day. He was friendly, engaging, informative, knowledgeable, and entertaining. He was open to answering any and all questions about champagne or the city of Reims. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Veuve Cliquot champagne house, but my wife and I were especially pleased with the experience at the small, family owned house and cellar we visited. It was honestly some of the best champagne we have had, and we were surprised to find out how inexpensive it was. We highly recommend the tour for anyone staying in the area or coming to the Champagne region!
