We were picked up right on time by Lucas. Nice clean Mercedes for driving around the beautiful area. Let's start with Lucas, he was excellent (part of the 5 star grade). Full of knowledge, ease to understand, very likeable. An asset to that company. First stop Veuve Clicquot was also excellent. Guide was super, again full of knowledge and of course the tasting was excellent, generous. And of course their marketing (and boutique) is second to none. We left, drove to just outside of Epernay for a lunch at the stunning Royal Champagne Hotel and Spa. Stunning is the best descriptor. Wow. 5+++ Stars. Was not rushed there. Left and had a quick stop and talk with the famous monk Dom Perignon (lol) at his church. Fascinating. Then on to Moet (could not get into Ruinart), which was the weakest part of the day (for us). The tour was fine, then we got to the tasting, the champagne was poured and our guide said he had to leave, that a colleague would come down and finish with us. No one came down for like 15-20 minutes so we had to try and make our way to the boutique and the out to meet Lucas. That was poor. Finished the day driving back and were let off right at our hotel. A very very nice day. Thank you Lucas.

First class experience for birthday celebration!

Did this as a day trip from Paris for my 40th birthday and we had a fantastic time with our driver/guide, Lucas! So knowledgeable and personable! He picked us up right on time from the train station and we had the best day visiting the Veuve Clicquot and Moët champagne houses as well as Notre Dame de Reims. Had a beautiful lunch, too. Cannot recommend this experience enough!! First class all the way around!

Gwendal was amazing! He was so kinds and welcoming. We learned all kinks of insights about the history, the people, and what makes theChampagne region so special. Gewndal arranged tours at two champagne houses- at Veuve Clicquot and at Möet et Chandon. Each were very small groups, so had a personal touch. Our lunch at Le Jarden was lovely. We toured Hautvillers with the Abbaye Saint Pierre, renovated by Catherine de Medici and where Dom Perignon is buried. At the end of the tour, we walked up and down Avenue de Champagne, in Épernay, and Gwendal told us about the smaller champagne houses and gave recommendations for further tasting. It was a wonderful tour!

This tour was the highlight of our trip to France. Truly a luxury experience - everything was arranged for us by our guide Gwendal including one of the most incredible lunches I’ve ever had at the Royal Champagne Hotel. We toured Veuve Clicquot in the morning and a smaller organic house Leclerc Briant in the afternoon. Highly recommend!

We highly recommend this tour, especially for first time visitors. We visited at the very beginning of the season and visit two wonderful and contrasting Champagne Houses. Sandwiched between was a wonderful lunch, but all the way there, during and after Gwendal was filling our brains with so much knowledge of Paris, all things Champagne, Reims, Notre Dame, Epernay, Champagne Avenue the list goes on he is generally a French Historian with the patience of a saint! We visited Ruinart House in the morning and a new producer called LeClerc Briant (famous for the Abyss Champagne...Google it!). We felt completely spoilt all day. Wonderful guids at the producers. Fabulous tasting sessions and cellar tours (the surprise in the Ruinart cellar is fabulous, but no spoilers here, you need to visit). We would love to visit again at a different time of year and visit two more Houses to add to our list - we are now super fans of Champagne and that's mainly thanks to Gwendal.

Day-long Champagne tours

Gwendal was a great host and guide who gave us a day-long class on Champagne. He organized two tours of completely different houses which were both instructional and fun, with great tastings. He also reserved lunch at a Michelin star restaurant which was relaxing and worth the rating. Next time we get back to the Reims area I hope we can spend time with Gwendal again!

Great day! One of the best from our whole 3week trip through Europe. Amazing tour guide, so knowledgeable and kind. He even took us to a smaller champagne house that wasn’t part of our original schedule. Fantastic lunch high on a hilltop overlooking the vineyards. Top notch all the way! Fantastic experience! Gwendal was so nice and very knowledgeable about the area and champagne! He organized the perfect day for my mother and I! Great tour with a great host! Very informative yet not overwhelming. Flexible and plenty of time to complete the activities. Lunch was fantastic and the car was very comfortable. Highlight would have to be the Gosset tour, we were unfamiliar with the brand but very impressed with the tour and tasting!

I took my wife on this trip for her 30th birthday and we had the most spectacular day. Would highly recommend anyone looking to see the region, Gwendal was fantastic and was such a friendly host for the day. Our French is terrible but he guided us in English which was super appreciated. We ended up seeing both Gosset and Ruinart (ruinart was simply wonderful) as well as some of the more historical places and vineyards. The lunch at Royal Champagne was second to none!

Gwendal made all requests reality! We got exactly what was promised - 2 major champagne houses: Veuve & Moet&Chandon - as well as a most beautiful lunch. We had a little extra time & visited Dom Perignon’s burial place as well as Cathedral Notre Dame at Reims.

This was a top-notch, must-do experience for us! I love sparkling wine and Gwendal made this such an educational and memorable experience. Everything was fabulous, from the selection of Champage houses to give us a lot of variety, to the phenomenal lunch at the Garden, to Gwendal’s ability to teach us all about the region and history. Gwendal was great! We had such a wonderful time seeing Pommery and the other locations. Gwendal knew so much about the Champagne region and all of the best places for views/a little history. What a lovely tour! Our guide, Roger, provided excellent communication before the tour, letting us know of changes/substitutions to our itinerary due to Covid restrictions. He was knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. The cathedral is breathtaking, and we re-visited the next day, as there was a service going on during our tour. We visited the library in Reims, another cathedral, the Taittinger champagne house, and enjoyed lunch at La Banque in Epernay. We then visited Abbaye Saint-Pierre d'Hautvillers, and stopped to look out at the vineyards. Our last official stop was the Boizel champagne house. Since my husband and I were the only ones in the tour group, we were given the opportunity to stroll up and down the Avenue de Champagne. The next time we're in Reims, we will absolutely look for another tour with Royal Journey France.
