Best excursion in CR! We loved our day. Hiking over the hanging bridges and spending time in the waterfalls was an unforgettable experience. We learned so much about Costa Rican life. One of the many highlights of this trip was the amazing traditional lunch with Viktor and Corona. We toured the fabulous garden and made our own cane sugar drink. Alberto was THE BEST tour guide, so patient, informative and delightful. Absolutely at Pura Vida experience! Highly recommend.

This by far was the best tour I have ever taken. My guide Caesar was incredible. He was knowledgeable. He was funny and he was patient. He prepared a romantic pineapple treat when we were at the waterfall and he was very courteous the whole day. We really enjoyed our team with him. What made the day even more special was meeting the family who made us lunch and allowed us onto their property. Wife cried when she left because we felt like we were leaving family behind. The meal was absolutely incredible and I am forever changed by the tour.

I’ve been on a lot of different tours. This may have been my favorite of all time. I don’t normally write reviews but this one deserves the praise. Our tour started with being picked up at our house by Alberto. We took an hour long drive up into the jungle with Alberto explaining all about the history of the family that started the tours on their land. It was fascinating. Alberto spent plenty of time explaining different plants and flowers as we hiked along the trail. After the walk across two hanging bridges that were about 120’ above the jungle floor, we hiked down to a waterfall and took a refreshing swim and had some delicious pineapple that Alberto had brought along. We were then taken to Victor and Corona’s house for lunch. They were one of the founders of this tour project. It was amazing. They were so gracious and the food was so good. The best part about this tour was the slow pace. We were never in any rush. We could spend as much or as little time as we wanted at each stop along the way without any pressure to keep it moving. Alberto told us he was ours for the day and to take our time and enjoy ourselves. There were no crowds. The tour was just our group of 4 people. There were other groups there at the same time as us, but not like other tours where you are fighting other people for a turn or a view. We only saw a total of about 10 other people besides our group throughout the entire day. Once we took a rest (and a nap in the hammock) we said our goodbyes to Corona and headed back to town. Alberto was kind enough to stop at a fruit stand and a local bakery on our way home so we could stock up. We actually heard about a baby turtle releasing from Alberto later in the week and he met us and went with us as well for no charge. He was amazing. This tour was amazing. If you are in Quepos or Manuel Antonio, you would be crazy not to do this. There are not enough words of praise to describe this tour.

Took my 4 adult Niece’s on the this tour today. The weather was absolutely perfect for a hike in the rainforest to a beautiful waterfall, a swim in the pool at the base of the waterfall and then a delicious lunch at a locals house. The food was absolutely amazing and so were the hosts! Our guide Alberto was so friendly and informative. We enjoyed this tour very much!

This was a magical day and we were so grateful to our guide, Alberto, for his time and expertise. He was so generous with his time that we were out hiking, swimming, touring, and eating for for nearly 7 hours! He drove the scenic route, took great photos of our group, and taught us so much. Our tour guide, Albrto, was warm and friendly.and we felt the hike was very personalized, not cookie-cutter. The swimming in the water hole below the waterfalls was delightful and as an added bonus we were entertained with the video filming of a music video of a duo from Sweden. Capping the hike and waterfall with a personal lunch from local culture was an educational experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed this excursion. The suspension bridges are impressive, and there are two separate waterfall swimming areas. Dona Corona’s lunch is delicious, and her garden is impressive. We enjoyed pressing sugarcane for a refreshing drink. Our guide was exceptional. The drive is long, but we sustained good conversations there and back.

The cultural lunch at a local lady’s house was amazing. Her food was delicious and she taught us how to make tortillas and press sugar cane.

This trip was a highlight for everyone in our group. Our guide was one of the best we had while in Costa Rica….he felt like family by the end. The waterfall was beautiful and refreshing after hiking. Lunch at the co-op was not only delicious but the entire experience of learning about everything they grow (and getting to taste it all) was quite a treat. We all got a turn pressing the sugarcane and I have to say, it tasted so good! We felt very welcomed in her home. A must do while in Costa Rica.

The waterfalls were very nice. But the best part was meeting Victor and Corona and eating with them in their lovely home. Their hospitality was amazing and made us feel very welcome. It was like eating at grandmas house. Then touring their fruit and spice garden in their backyard was the bonus getting to learn about the different spices and fruits. Our tour guide Albert was very informative and packed the best pineapple for a snack that I have had in a long time. Next time we return we will definitely do this again and take the kids next time. Can’t say enough good things about the wonderful people that make this tour amazing.

Alberto was our tour guide and he was a wealth of amazing knowledge about everything--from the best cookies to buy and the flora/fauna in CR. He was patient with us and our 8 year old daughter as we wound our way over the bridges again and again. He took tons of pictures for us, too. The meal we had at Don Victor and Dona Corona's home was easily the best meal we had in CR. And there was so much of it! I am a vegetarian and the family made sure to make me an extra side since I didn't eat the chicken. I honestly cannot say enough food things about this tour. This tour was 1000000% the best tour we did while in CR and definitely worth it.

This tour was the last tour of our 10 day stay in Costa Rica. Simply stated, we were blown away.
Cara, the owner and founder of Luna Vida Adventures, has decades of experience in high end tourism, has a heart of gold and genuinely cares about her clients and our experience as well as the women she partners with in Costa Rica.
For us, the small details like this matter. Providing an amazing experience peppered with educational conversation about the flora, fauna, wildlife, town and its people are amazing. Pair this with her efforts to support local communities, particularly the women who often have little opportunities to earn their own income - this was a five star tour.
This hike was very comfortable. The natural bridges were super cool and tasting various fruits right off the trees as we walked? Priceless. We saw several waterfalls, sooo many brilliant blue butterflies, birds of all types and an array of plant life. It’s the off season but I’m not sure it wasn’t the best time to go.
We relaxed in the warm waters pooling around a gorgeous waterfall and enjoyed fresh pineapple waiting for us.
Cara, you made our trip. We had several “favorite” tours before we met you. This tour was hands down, easily our favorite. You can’t get any more authentic than this.
We will rebook with Cara for sure. If you’re thinking about it, this is your sign. Nope, no one paid me to write this - it was that good!

The road trip up to the hanging bridges was a fantastic ride. To be experienced for sure. The cultural lunch was amazing to be in the heart of the future of Costa Rica. Swimming in the waterfall was another highlight and knowledge from the tour guide was excellent.

My wife and I were fortunate to have booked this personal tour with Cara! She was fun, high energy and engaging. Also very knowledgeable about the environment, plant life and local culture and history. After we got to where we were we’re going, we had a near experience hiking to a waterfall and crossing a couple of hanging bridges in the process. Once there we enjoyed some water time as Cara prepared a nice snack for us of mango and two other local fruits whose names I do not remember. We hiked back to a local Costa Rican home where the lady of house had prepared a delicious lunch for us! It was an overall wonderful experience to learn more about the Costa Rican culture and lifestyle. If you book this tour with Cara, you will not be disappointed! Pura Vida!
