Guide was super knowledgeable and made sure to look out in particular for things we mentioned being interested in seeing! What a unique and interesting way to see a different part of the forest ecosystem. He and his colleagues really care about the environment they work in and it was very cool to hear him also discuss stewardship and our collective role in protecting places. We saw owls, kinkajous, many toads and frogs, caiman, scorpions, spiders, and a sleeping hummingbird. He really knew the place like the back of his hand, and it really felt like an honor to be in such a special place. Thanks again!

I was really keen to experience the Costa Rican jungle at night and this did not disappoint. Manuel is a really fun guide, maybe even a little crazy, and went the extra mile for us.
On the night the tour was booked it was raining heavily, Manuel offered us a refund or to reschedule for the following day - luckily, we were free and he collected us next day in time to catch toucans in the dusk and walk into the rain forest before nigh settled in and we began to look for creatures. We found a Wandering Spider (my number one target), caimans, scorpions, a beautiful hummingbird, a katydid, numerous tiny frogs etc.
The trail is a bit of a hike which was nice as it feels like an authentic experience. Manuel is great company and entertained us with stories as well as telling us about the animal we were seeing.
Then, at the end (and I doubt you can be guaranteed this) we had to wait in a shelter while Manuel went off to call his driver - it was raining by then and I looked up and right above my head, in the shelter, was a two-toed sloth. He crawled around hanging from the roof struts only inches above our heads - it was an amazing end to a really fun trip.

Tour guide didn't show up. Waiting on a refund. Booked a different tour through a local and enjoyed that.

Dylan was so keen to show us as much as possible and very enthusiastic at some of the creatures discovered. We had a great evening and would unhesitatingly recommend booking this night tour.

We finished our family trip with another private tour with our guide, Manuel. He is so knowledgeable of animal, insects and many other wild creatures that we saw on the Night jungle tour ( frogs, crocodiles, insects, sloths, kinkajoos, etc). We could never have seen these critters without him.

They canceled last minute and then said they were refunding me. Here I am still waiting for someone to contact me regarding my claim.

We saw a great deal of animal life, very interactive small group, guide was very informative. Very educational.

We missed our day by accident and they were kind enough to accommodate our mistake. Andrew was our guide and he was super knowledgeable and made the tour even more interesting and fun! Highlights included seeing a viper, scorpion, and nocturnal mammals!! Would recommend to anyone, very family friendly as well

We had a great time, Mop is very patient and knowledgeable! We saw a wide range of creatures - crickets, spiders, scorpion, snake, frogs, and at a distance a sloth and I think coatimundi. I am a bit weary of spiders and all, but the trail was wide enough and it felt safe around Mop. I also liked how various guides in the same area were cooperative and when one guide spotted an animal, he would let other guides know - this team work also contributed to the wide range of animals we saw. So big thank you to Mop! Also, we got super lucky as wild nature is quite unpredictable, even with an excellent guide - so big thank you to the nature of Costa Rica as well!!

Mop was wonderful with our 3 boys! He was patient with our delayed arrival and he found so many things in the jungle that we never would have seen without him. (Bats, tarantulas, scorpions, tree frogs, etc, etc). He was great at explaining things at a level that was interesting to my husband while also being understandable for our 4-year-old. He was clearly the most experienced guide out there, as he was helping other guides on the trail find things he would find.
Dennis_T, Feb 2024
Mop was our tour guide for the jungle night tour, he was prompt to pick us up from our hotel and was quick to respond over messaging. He was very knowledgeable and really showed his expertise spotting the smallest camouflaged animals then sharing with the other tour guides walking among us.
Mop asked us for any special requests and made sure we got to see them all! Mop made sure everyone in the group got a chance to see through the scope and took amazing photos for us. We saw snakes, tarantulas, tree frogs, and were very fortunate to see a sloth hanging just a few feet away. Thank you, Mop!!

Dylan was funny and engaging while teaching us all about the nocturnal wildlife of the jungle! We saw snakes, scorpions, tarantulas, monkeys, and more! It was an incredible experience!!!

Such a great experience! We saw sloths, a monkey, frogs and snakes! Our guide, Sergio, was amazing!! I had a toddler in backpack carrier and it was an easy hike and flat. Would highly recommend!

We had a great time on this tour! There was only 3 of us on the tour (me and my friends) and it was fun to go in a small group. We all had flashlights and walked through the jungle to look for animals. Our guide was awesome, he had over 10 years of experience. We saw at least one of every thing we wanted to see: frogs, tarantulas, a sloth, a Kinkajou (running through the trees), a snake, and a scorpion. Although there is no guarantees of seeing anything (as you cannot control nature) we were really happy with our experience and our guide worked really hard to try and give us a great tour. In my opinion, its even cooler than the national park tour doing the day because there is more wildlife and there weren't other people around.

Our guide, Dillon, spotting animals before even getting to the night walk park; jumping out of the van to show us sloths and toucans on the way to our tour.

We loved this tour. This was our second tour with this company and we were very happy with both. Bernie was our guide this evening and he did a great job and spotting things for us to see. We didn't get to see the two toed sloth that evening but we did see it another night. We saw, several different types of frogs along with a couple tarantulas, banana spider, white tailed deer, scorpions and tadpole pod of the glass frog. All is all we would recommend this tour.

Had a great time with MOP (our tour guide). Keep in mind this is not a zoo—this is the wild. They cannot guarantee any particular sightings for you (I would guarantee a plethora of frogs), but we were privileged enough to see a snake in a tree waiting for a scrumptious snack to hop by, deer, a ridiculous number of different frog species, a toucan, a scorpion and a tarantula. We loved it I originally picked this company because they had rain boots. I only had Keen sandals and was afraid of something slithering across my feet. My in-laws thought it would be rigorous hiking and declined but it was established trails with a step here or there but nothing arduous. Completely enjoyed and highly recommend.

At first I was a bit dissappointed that the tour did not take place in the national park, but maybe I misunderstood. That being said, the guide (Mop) was great. He asked everyone in the group what they wished to see and then he found it. He also found many other animals than the other guides we met did.
David_A, Mar 2022
Guide was passionate. Felt very safe. Transportation was easy. So lots of cool critters at night. I would recommend this excursion to anyone.
Megan_N, Mar 2022
Seeing the tarantulas was the most exciting part of our trip. I was a bit disappointed with how many tours were happening at the same time as well as underwhelmed by our guides knowledge and ability to find animals and insects. If this tour was like $20 per person would have been totally worth it but for this price we were not impressed.
Michael_S, Feb 2022
This was a really fun and unique experience. I am usually very afraid of snakes, spiders, and various bugs, but I figured this would be a great opportunity to face these fears. The tour guide was terrific and I felt safe the entire time. Walking through the jungle at night is an experience in itself. We ended up seeing roughly 5 species of frogs, 4 species of snakes, 2 tarantulas, 2 scorpions, a sloth, and a racoon, among other things. All very cool.
The pickup and dropoff from my AirBnB was very convenient, and the rain boots provided were very useful.
The guide was very friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. It was cool to hear the histories of different plants and animals, as well as the meanings behind the different species. The small tour group (3 of us total) was perfect.
Definitely recommend!

We did two tours and had Carlos as our guide both times. He was amazing. His eye for finding the smallest micro fauna and interpreting all the sounds of nature was wonderful. His enthusiasm for nature was contagious. Pura vida!
Niko_S, Oct 2021
Our guide Carlos was really enthusiastic about every animal that we saw. It was great to hear so many things about each animal that we saw and also about wildlife in Costa Rica. Great experience.

Mop was AMAZING! It was one of my favorite parts of the trip. It rained for most of it but they provide rainboots which made all the difference! We hadnt seen a sloth yet and he made sure we saw one before the tour was over. I cannot express enough how amazing this tour was. I highly highly recommend!
Taylor_G, Aug 2021
So fun, highly recommend! Super knowledgeable & will take amazing photos for you! Feels adventurous to be trekking through the jungle at night! So kind as well, happily answered my unrelated questions about the area via messenger after the tour :)
Heather_R, Jul 2021
Carlos went above and beyond during our night tour! We hadn’t seen sloths yet, so he went out of his way to find one for us. He found 2! A 2 toed sloth and a 3 toed sloth. We saw frogs, spiders, tarantulas, scorpions, crickets, beetles, millipedes, a snake, lizards, and bats. Before it got dark, we saw some squirrel monkeys and a deer. It was amazing how easily he could find the animals. He spoke English very well and knew so much! They provide rain boots for us, which was really nice.
Paula_F, Jul 2021
Our guide was very knowledgeable and very engaging. He knows where to find the night creatures and knows about their habits. We enjoyed this adventure very very much.
Dennis_M, Jul 2021
We had a good time. Saw lots of wildlife. Deer, sloth, kinkajou, frogs, snakes, spiders, and lizards. Got to witness a cane snake eating tadpoles that were in egg sacks attached to a leaf. Very cool experience.
Ivana_C, Jul 2021
The tour itself was fascinating, we walked through a pitch black jungle so I felt pretty adventurous already. We also saw so many different varieties of frogs, scorpions, crazy looking spiders, and a massive tarantula.
Manuel was our guide and he should be hosting some jungle show on Netflix or something. Bear in mind that we were walking through the pitch black jungle with only a few flashlights, but he somehow spotted all of the animals we would have missed had we not had a guide. He’s also a super talented photographer who took National Geographic worthy pictures and was very knowledgeable about everything— from animals, to plants, to which mushrooms are edible, which ones are psychedelic, and which ones are poisonous. I’m so happy that we opted to do a tour— we got our own private nature walk!
