Overview
Explore the jungle at night when the temperature drops and nocturnal animals make their appearances. On this nighttime jungle walk, you’re picked up from Quepos or Manuel Antonio and taken to a protected jungle area nearby. Spend about 1.5 hours taking an easy hike through the jungle at night, when it’s filled with the sounds of insects and frogs, and nocturnal snakes, insects, tree frogs, and mammals come out.

Our guide was very nice. He explained all important things about the jungle. I was surprised fro a beagle with lighting eyes. We see Frogs, Spiders, a Scorpion, Kaiman. Unfortunately no snake but that was not the fault of the guide :-)

This is a must do if you have someone who wants to see frogs, spiders, scorpions and snakes! We were a little nervous going in, but had so much fun! Always felt 100% safe and the guide was so knowledgeable. Just amazing to see the jungle alive at night.
I left my 5 year old at the hotel and that was the right move. Many times you turn off your flashlights to look for scorpions with a black light and smaller kids could get easily creeped out. My 9 year old daughter was in heaven!
You also get the most beautiful photos at the end included. Totally worth it!

Totally awesome! We have two boys and they absolutely loved it. Dany our tour guide was great… very knowledgeable and he had a cámara w a telescope lens to see everything and anything. Had a fantastic time!

We went in heavy rain, and despite (or maybe because of that) my 16 year-old said this was his favorite activity of the trip! Our guide Danny was so skilled at spotting & photographing the nighttime animals, and so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the natural world. We saw at least 8 different species of frogs, including the glass frog, red eyed frog, the dink frog, the gladiator frog and many more, as well as birds, insects, mammals, spiders and ancient trees. We enjoyed learning about them all and experiencing the rainforest at night. We began to pick out the sounds of the different animals and my sons spotted some frogs themselves. The experience was smooth and professional, from the piickup & drop off to the photos airdropped at the end. We were soaked & still thought it was so worthwhile!

I highly recommend this tour especially if you get Danny as your guide. The man who was helping him find things was also incredible. They were both off the charts astounding at finding animals. Danny brought a scoped wildlife camera on a tripod so we could see everything he found up close. He took pictures of everything and air dropped them to us immediately after the tour was over. The sounds in the jungle at night were truly symphonic. Just a wonderful experience!!

Great experience! Our guide, Danny, was super knowledgeable and had an amazing ability to find even the smallest of creatures. We saw birds, monkeys, frogs, spiders, insects, etc. and our guide shared great photos he took during the walk. Easy hike on well maintained paths. Nighttime brings a whole different vibe to the jungle. We loved it. Highly recommend.

Definitely our best tour during our whole time in Manuel Antonio. Aaron was our guide and he was awesome at spotting so many thing. Aaron was able to find us a Kinkajou and a Fer-de-Lance snake among so many other night creatures. He was so helpful at making sure our photos were top notch through his scope. You do not even need a camera, just your cell phone and he was able to capture such great memories. Would not hesitate to book again! Just do it!!!!

After a pick up on time qe have been brought to the forest where we were greeted by our super nice guide Sergio. He took us to the jungle showed us frogs spider s catterpilars birds and even scorpions and snakes. He took foto for us with the relescope. Super nicr defenktely recommend it

Good, knowledgeable guide who helped us see lots of different frogs and insects. Whilst the bilingual nature of the tour is a good thing for extending its reach having everything described in two languages meant animals had quite often left before half the party knew what they were looking for.

Phenomenal night tour exceeding all expectations. Thank you Sergio for your knowledge, enthusiasm, photography and passion throughout. We had an unforgettable experience. The setting is magnificent and we were blessed to see 2 different species of snake (one venomous and one not), 2 different species of scorpion, multiple frogs and spiders and more. Would highly recommend even if we were we think particularly lucky with quantity and diversity of wildlife.

We had an amazing tour with Danny! His ability to spot and identify tiny frogs and bugs was absolutely incredible, and it was backed up by his interpretive information. We learned so much and have a new appreciation for the jungle at night. He used a blue light to spot animals that were otherwise totally camouflaged. He also spotted and then diverted us from the most dangerous snake in Costa Rica - it was amazing! Thank you Danny!

This was a huge waste of money. We saw 2 frogs, a spider, a snake - all we could have googled. The $275 fee was outrageous for what we receieved. Never again. I WOULD Not recommend this tour. What a huge disappointment, as this was the one thing my son was most excited about.

It was a good way to see amphibians and a few snakes. We also saw a tamandua, which was awesome, and some interesting arthropods and birds. I would say it was worth it, but it was not an exceptional experience, especially because my flashlight was absolutely terrible. I ended up just using the one of my phone. Other people had good flashlights though.

We went hiking in the jungle with Aaron and it was a really great experience. The jungle is totally pitch black so it’s a bit scary (but cool!) at first but we were provided with flashlights.
With Aaron as our guide we seen snakes, spiders, red eye frogs, and even a wild coati. Aaron was determined to find a scorpion to show us before we left and after a little while managed to find a nest of them! Highly recommend!

It was raining but the guide made the most of every second. He knew cool details about
every creature and it’s a completely different experience than daytime. It was magical. When we would find something he would be eager to check out and tell us what it was. We never could’ve done this on our own … other places we got tour guides that were good but none as necessary as this one. Loved the sounds the views the science.

We didn’t end up doing the night jungle tour because we did one in La Fortuna the day before and my daughter who’s 5 years old was scared and didn’t want to do it again. But my son who’s 7 loved it and wanted to do it. The compromise was to try to switch it to another tour. This company Terra Travel is amazing!!! The owner Brian allowed me to switch at the last minute because of my kids. And we switched to a chocolate tour with Gregory which was SO informative and fun and enjoyable! We were transported to their cacao farm. Really nice grounds and close to our hotel Parador. He was fantastic with my kids. As a trained biologist, he knew so much about the cacao process and history and even showed us a bit about coffee and sugar cane production. All the people who are part of Terra Travel are so kind and knowledgeable and it doesn’t hurt that they are a good looking crew. (I am married but I appreciate Costa Ricans who are so well spoken and educated and curious and handsome to boot!) it was an excellent experience and I highly recommend all their tours for families and to use this company for your services! I wish we would have been able to do a cultural immersion or a food cooking tour at some point with them!

Pickup and drop off were all excellent and on time. The walk took about 1 1/2 hours and we saw frogs, birds, spiders, a sloth and a snake. Our guide was informative. Only 8 on the tour. I have posted some photos I took but our guide airdropped the ones he took through the scope which were excellent. A good tour at a Tesco able price.

It's was rainy nonstop in late afternoon as we were about heading out to our night tour. I thought it was going to be canceled but our fabulous guide Luiz said it's a rainforest...it rains. So we 5 March through a rainy evening of exploring a number of red eye frogs, spiders and birds hiding under leaves from the constant rain. As I your concluded of course the rain stopped. It was a fun adventure and Luiz was so excited about anything that crawled or moved. Great event.

Such a great tour. Arran wS fantastic at spotting the wildlife. The lighting was amazing. Had the florescent and we spotted a scorpion. Loads if frogs, arachnids, spiders, baby cayman, snakes. Well worth the trip.

I booked this trip the night before. I believe the guides name was Danny. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to answer questions. At the start of the trip their is access to a bathroom and water. They give you a small flashlight. I would bring shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty as the ground was muddy. Overall, the tour was fun and a nice way to see different night animals.
