The history of the Port of Quebec (Port de Québec) dates back to Quebec City’s founding in 1608. While the port has been a major industrial hub, it’s also celebrated for its immigration history, as it was the main port of entry into Canada in the 19th century. Today, it remains a working industrial site and a popular cruise port.

The Port of Quebec has two terminals: the Ross Gaudreault Cruise Terminal (at Wharves 21 and 22) and Terminal 30. The former is located near Old Quebec and is the main port for cruise passengers, while the latter is slightly further north. You can get there on foot, by taxi, or public transit.

The Port of Quebec is open throughout the year. Passenger cruises have historically been limited to the April–November season, timed to align with the spring thaw, summer high season, and autumn leaf-peeping. However, Quebec winter cruises are increasing, making the port a year-round destination.
