Almon spent 4 hours with us pointing out birds that we never would have seen. More importantly, his love of birding was obvious. He would take pictures/videos for us through his spotting scope then take his own pictures. It was amazing to be guided by someone so skilled and so obviously as excited about the birds as we were.

Our birding guide was exceptional. He took us around Monteverde to the little known birding areas. We saw a huge variety of birds, some VERY unique to the area. I would happily do this tour again and highly recommend.

Thought Ficus Trails was tremendous. Our guide, Olman, was a master multitasker engaging each of us at our level of interest. Chatting, listening, hushing, hustling and always looking for and finding birds and setting up scope for us. Quetzal a highlight. Tremendous day and I'm not even a birder. Birder wife loved it too.

We went out on a misty, rainy morning but still had a really great time with Olman. He’s a super knowledgeable birder who knew both the habits and standard habitats of all local birds as well as the calls and songs for most. On our tour with him I added 19 new birds to my life list and my partner added 26 to his. We were very happy with the experience and had a great time with Olman.

Really enjoyed our morning bird watching tour. Ollman was such a brilliant guide - clearly very passionate about his work and keen to provide the best experience for everyone on the tour. We managed to see a variety of birds in various different locations and Ollman did an excellent job spotting birds which we would never have noticed on our own. Even on leaving the nature reserve, Ollman was still looking out for a toucan for us and managed to spot one at a distance, which was amazing to see!

Don’t go. They will decide if they can pick you up after your payment. We missed the tour because of the difficulty of getting there with our own car in a dim and misty morning. They didn’t give me any refund, not even partial, after I argued and requested. Finally, after a few rounds of communication, Viator gave me a partial refund at their cost.

We talk one Day befor we talk yuo driver to the place but the neck Day 6,20 the Rain in yuor hotel was but and yuo coll me to cancelo.
To cancell is it 24 hour befor.
We normally pick UP every one around 4,50 kilómetros way.

Ullman is a skilled guide. We started walking along the road because he explained that in the forest birds are more difficult to see. We saw many birds that he found by sight or call and then pointed out to us. Then we entered the preserve where indeed the birds were more difficult to see, but we did see some others as well.

Our tour guide Olman was very experienced and so friendly. He found our small group of 5, a quetzal where no other groups who were in the area saw one. We saw tons of other birds we wouldn't have seen on our own. Spent 1 hour near Stella's before going into the reserve and saw more birds there than we did in the park!

We had an awesome time with Olman. He is so excited to share all the birds of Monteverde with you, and he is really incredible at setting up the scope so you can see birds with better optics with your average binoculars. I think we saw 30-32 species in our morning with Olman’s help - as very recreational birders, there is no way we could have ID’d these without his help and direction. I highly recommend this tour!!

Olman was great. He took us to a place outside Monteverde park. He explained that in the park most of the berries the birds like had already eaten. We saw a lot of birds and also enjoyed his company. Highly recommend.

Olman did a great job of finding birds! Then they flew away. Seriously, morning is the best time to see a lot of birds, but they are very active, so it was rare that he could catch them in his scope and all of us would get to see before they flew off again. But Olman was persistent. We actually started in a parking lot and saw more birds there than we did in the Cure-Cancha reserve. Just the walk through the forest was amazing, though, and we did get to see a lot of birds (and some pigs, and some coatis). The strangler fig is a tree that has to be seen in person to be believed.

Our tour guide, Ullman, was excellent. However, we were under the impression that breakfast was included as part of this tour; it was not. This left us with a bad impression of Viator. You should make this more clear!

We started our trip at 6am for 4h with our guide Olman Sisneros.
He really was a genius on his specification. Even though we were no experts in birds he managed to share his love and passion with us, explaining every single bird and their characteristics. He was able to communicate with the birds by mimicking their voices. We really were stunned.
As he’s also guide for (night) trails in general he even showed spots of tarantulas at the end (since I mentioned not seeing one so far).

Out of all our tours in Costa Rica, this one did not meet expectation. Would like to point out that we walked along side of a paved road for first half of the tour which certainly we did not expect, and then stopped at Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve Hummingbird gallery which we could have easily done on our own - next half of the tour was on some private property for which the tour claimed entrance fee was included and there were no clearly marked trails and walked through thick bushed/vegetation at times which we thought was dangerous as other tours were particular about staying on the trails so we dont step on snake etc. Guide was polite but did not communicate well - overall, i think this tour was not value for money and may be misleading entrance fee...to where?.

Jorge our tour leader was very knowledgeable about the location and the types of birds we were spotting. He was extremely friendly and helpful with our spotting and photography. The pickup from our lodging was very helpful, and the tour ended with breakfast at one of the best breakfast locations in the area.

We had a wonderful time on our tour. Our guide Jorge was funny, kind, and went out of his way to give us a great tour. The morning started with a stop at the entrance to the Monteverde Cloud forest in the hopes of finding a Resplendent Quetzal. While we were unsuccessful, the effort was much appreciated. We then went to the nearby Ficus Trials where we saw some great species including a Keel-billed Toucan and a Long-tailed Manakin which Jorge hadn't seen in months. Luck us! We stopped at a vista that looked over the cloud forest and the surrounding landscape. The morning finished at the local birder friendly bakery. There they have feeders that attract Orioles, Tanagers, Motmots, and more! We would definitely recommend Jorge for future tours!
