Our guide, Daniel, was truly wonderful. I highly recommend taking any tour with him. He was knowledgeable, kind, welcoming, and patient. He made the trip what it was. We had a small medical scare and he was 100% on top of it. He calmed the situation and made us feel safe. I couldn’t thank him enough.

Our guides were kind and informative and explained all directions very easily. It was simple to leave our rental car in their parking lot, change in the restaurant/use restroom, etc., and all the snacks, lunch, and up to the smoothie the restaurant gave us upon our return was all excellent. Beautiful snorkeling and beach; 10/10! Amazing price for this excursion compared to others I looked into. The boat is a bit smaller than others, but I think that made it feel more connecting to the water as we traveled by sea! Loved it!

We had a wonderful day on this trip! Our guide, Olger, spoke excellent English and was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We saw dolphins and spider monkeys on our way to Tortuga Island. The snorkeling was awesome - like swimming in a fish tank! At the island we had a wonderful lunch and lots of free time to swim and relax. This is a small tour, maybe a maximum of 12 people can fit in this boat. We enjoyed the small boat and personalized experience. However, one caution: we did have to get on and off the boat from the beach - no dock or ramp. We were fine with that, but keep it in mind if that could be an issue for you.

The tour was fantastic from pickup to drop off. Communication with Olger was very easy. Saw dolphins, monkeys, iguanas, a beautiful assortment of fish and piglets.
Snorkeling was great, they provided assistance, good equipment and information.
The beach area was very relaxing and everyone was exceptionally friendly.

Great tour, value and the guid was knowledgeable. We were able to see dolphins, spider monkeys, beautiful fish while snorkeling, stay on the island throughout the day and their lunch was top notch. On our way back the captain and guide were kind enough to stop when they spotted dolphins, and we were lucky to see a whale and its calf as well when they could’ve just headed straight back. Definitely recommend.

Great day out! Well organised and safety conscious. We enjoyed the snorkeling stop, the island was lovely and relaxing ( sunbeds not included and cost around 20 dollars to hire for 2 people.) Lunch, fruit, biscuits, coffee provided through the day and a lovely fresh drink in Coco's bar on our return. Highly recommended, thanks.

Excellent boat tour with very knowledgeable staff that had a lot of fun facts as it pertain to the tour as well as their years of aquatic experience. The food was good and filling, and the time on the island was very relaxing. We did not see any dolphins, but saw a handful of spider monkeys. My only word of caution is that in East La Tortuga while swimming I was brushed by a jellyfish on my leg, I think I was the only person on the whole island to have that happened to them, but something to keep in mind. Would recommend this tour company very much. Small intimate group with lots of respect for the ecosystem.

Great time, great company. We didn't see any dolphins, the water (which was calm) had poor visibility for snorkeling, the weather was perfect for us (Nov. 10, 2025) our guide OJ was great and very knowledgeable. Learned alot about the islands, rivers, animal's, people and culture. Took a short hike on the island which was $12 US. Had lunch on a floating restaurant with great food. Perfect amount of time.

It was pouring rain when we woke up the morning of the trip, and we knew it would be dangerous to snorkel in that weather. Plus, we knew the boat ride — and pretty much everything else about the trip — would be awful.
We were picked up in a little pickup truck, and luckily, another couple joined us. The man spoke fluent Spanish and immediately realized that we were eligible for a refund. He mentioned that he’d been trying to contact the tour company since the day before, but no one was answering — he even called Viator directly!
The fisherman who owned the boat was kind and understanding, but he explained that the decision wasn’t up to him. So, he drove the four of us to another location. The other customer got out and spoke with the tour operators, firmly but politely requesting a refund for all of us. It took quite a bit of discussion, but finally, the man agreed and gave us our refund.
I was so thankful we were with that other couple — they truly saved the day for us!

Hello Mrs. Chrisdee, I must clarify that we are in the green season and in Costa Rica, we are a tropical destination, at this time it rains, it goes away, it comes back, for us it is normal, it is dangerous when combined with an electrical storm, or we have a precaution by the competent authorities, called National Emergency Commission, or Coast Guard, this is serious, but luckily we did not have any restrictions to navigate, I also want to tell you that since the day before we were in communication from the office by email and also by cell phone, even before picking you up I sent you a photo of the truck where I personally picked you up, when I arrived at the meeting point, I found you and then another couple from the cruise, you got in the car and the other man was unwell and did not want to travel, he told me that he had written to Viator to get his money back, I tried to calm him down, I told him that I could gladly return his money but first I had to take you to the pier where the boat to Tortuga Island was leaving, which then from there would take them to my office to return their money, he said yes, okay, the next thing we went to the pier. First they got out of the car, this gentleman who would not always travel unwell got out too, surely he thought I would not return his money, he told the pier guard that they had to return the money to him, he told him it was me and pointed at me, then at that moment at the pier you also decided not to travel, which I also kindly told you no problem, if you do not wish to travel due to weather conditions, we will go to my office and I will return your money that you paid, we arrived at my office her husband Don James and the other gentleman got out and immediately I returned the money that each one paid, I made them a receipt so I would have a backup and everything was fine, even so I offered them an apology if there was one, a drink in my restaurant that is next to my office, but they said no, I took them back to the boat, we We say goodbye!
I've also lived in this place my whole life. I was a commercial fisherman for many years. Rest assured, the trip took place because there were no risk alerts.

Coco's Tours is absolutely incredible and we will definitely be asking them to give us more tours in the future to various parts of Costa Rica.
The boat is much smaller than other tour boats, but it allowed us to enjoy the ride more honestly. I felt much closer to the dolphins we saw (and they were many!) and it was incredible. Many tours to isla tortuga do not include snorkeling, spider monkey watching at isla negritos, and dolphin watching. They gave us a little part of the history (even showing us a sunken ship from WW2) and did an overall amazing job guiding us. The guide and captain are both incredibly nice and are happy to help you in case you need anything. Additionally, they also brought us to a floating restaurant which apparently they do not usually do. It was amazing literally eating at sea and the waters being so calm in that area, and I met a very cute puppy there that I didn't take a picture of because I was too busy playing with it.
They showed us incredible hospitality by even doing us favors that we wouldn't have otherwise expected. When we arrived back to mainland, they took us back to their restaurant, allowed us to wash ourselves with their hose, and even brought free pineapple drinks with herbabuena. Then, the owner even drove us home since we had to walk and weren't able to rent a car (ubers are very difficult to order in these parts).
Overall incredible experience and I would recommend them over anything more expensive to be honest. I felt more with nature on this tour than I would have been on a big boat with TVs and such. Also, since the boat is smaller, you arrive to the island MUCH faster.
Only note I would bring up is that the bathrooms on isla tortuga are not owned by Coco's Tours and you do have to pay 600 colones for it (more than a dollar). It is nasty and I don't recommend. Just do it before or after the trip if possible. They have bathrooms in their restaurant that they own.

We had an outstanding day with COCO tours. Olger our guide spoke very good English. He took time for us. And had a lot of knowledge about the area and nature. The captain of our boat was friendly and did his ultimate best to give us a great experience. We saw a pot of dolphins, colourful fish. Had a nice relaxing time at the beach and a lovely lunch at a floating restaurant. We could not have asked for more. 10 out of 10.
