Taquile Island is nice, but the Uros bit was probably most interesting to me. The guide was great! Boat driver was great too. Comfortable transport.

Our tour guide Carlos was excellent. The communication from the company was also excellent via WhatsApp. The tour itself was very well organized from start to finish. Our hotel was out of the pickup zone but for $8 they arranged a taxi for us , we had exceptional weather which obviously always helps the tour wasn’t rushed at all. Someone mentioned about being hassled to buy from local we didn’t experience any of that. A fabulous day on Lake Titicaca.

    Must do this trip

This is a great experience and leisure time. Freddy and Jonathan were very skilled on the Titikaka explanation of Urus and Taquile. The walking in Taquile is not though if you're a few days in the altitude of Perú.

    Great Staff

    Must do in Puno

    Dmitry_S, Sep 2025
Great experience. Both islands are incredible and very different in culture and vibe. Make sure to take plenty of water and cash (soles) if you want to buy local crafts. The tour guide was local and it added great cultural engagement. His name is Ever Johny.

Our guides name was Heber Johnny and he was wonderful! His English and Spanish was excellent. He was so attentive and caring for our group. He was very educational whilst also very funny. We had a wonderful time visiting the Uros and Taquile Islands!

    Very good and well executed

    Dimitris_G, Apr 2025
Very well organised tour, from pre-start to end. Very interesting and a nice experience. Victor the guide was also really good.

    Great experience!

    WenYu_L, Mar 2025
Our tour guide Victor was great! Super knowledgeable and helpful. Lunch was great too! The only thing is that you need to pay 15 soles per person to take the boat on the Uro island and there was kinda a peer pressure thing going on cause if you don’t take it you’ll just be there doing nothing for 20 ish minutes. That being said, 15 soles for the boat ride was worth it so from our perspective that’s not a big deal.

    Informative and fun tour

    Pamela_M, Dec 2024
It was an informative and fun tour. The tour guides were all knowledgeable and professional. I learned a lot about the locals from Uros and Taquile and their history and customs. The lunch we had in Taquile was very good, the fish was cooked perfect! I met lovely people and the short hike back to the boat was pleasant.

Can’t be missed tour in puno

It was an amazing tour cover the highlines of lake Titicaca for people only have short stay in Puno. The guide was very good to provide enough information for both Spanish and English speakers

The real and not so real of Lake Titicaca

    Karey_S, Oct 2024
The boat ride was long and enjoyable, Lake Titicaca is beautiful and we were able to sit up top on the boat if wanted to. There were no safety devices on board whatsoever and 2 places at the rear of the boat not roped off where one could easily fall into the water. The floating island of Uros is tiny (~25m x 35m) - this seems an unreal lifestyle and unsustainable - we felt it was a show. The stitching hand work the ladies do is beautiful. The tapestries and pillow covers are unique to Uros. Buy them here as you won’t see them else where. The island of Taquile is real - be ready for the very steep walk up to the plaza. The scenery is lovely and the meal was fantastic. If you love being on the water crossing a massive lake and stopping for some culture - this trip is for you.

Fabulous tour of Uros and Taquile with our guide Freddy.

    Heidi_C, Sep 2024
Fabulous tour with Freddy our guide. The stop in Uros was amazing. Met and talked to the families on the island we visited and learned about their culture and way of life. The visit to Taquille was just was informative. The walk from the harbor to the plaza was a cardio boost and many stops to catch your breath. Learned the island is a UNESCO site and voted the best weavers in the world competition. The lunch was included with an absolutely delicious quinoa soup and grilled trout with rice and veggies. Overall thumbs up for this tour!!!!

Great value tour - wonderful lunch and lovely tour guide

    Olivia_P, May 2024
We had a great time on this tour, a lovely day out. Our tour guide Victor was lovely, really helpful, informative and funny too. Uros Islands was interesting to see, although very touristy as others have noted. We didn't feel pressured to buy anything though as others have said. The walk and lunch on Taquile Island were a real highlight - helped by a beautiful sunny day. The food for lunch was delicious and accompanied by an amazing view. Overall would definitely recommend, great value for money!

    Great experience

Very nice organized tour with great tour guide. Lunch was delicious. I didn't feel obligated to buy any of sales offer by locals

Excellent trip with a great guide.

    Penelope_R, Feb 2024
We took a great boat trip to Uros and Taquile with Freddy as our guide. He was very attentive and gave us great information about the two different groups of people we met. We were a bit hesitant to take this trip initially as it looked very touristy. However, Freddy made it clear that the people we visited now rely on tourism as part of their survival. The Uros people can no longer survive fishing as the number of fish in the lake has drastically dropped. They have turned to tourism, explaining their way of life and try to sell some handicrafts to survive. There are only about 2,000 Uros left living on the floating islands in the traditional way and so it is important to help them continue this. Any tourists that visit them are helping prolong their ancient way of life. Freddy and the Uros people explained how the people create their homes on floating reed islands. We also had a delicious trout lunch on Taquile in the main square looking over the lake and the distant view to Bolivia. The boat was great with comfortable seats and a bathroom. We wanted to walk around Puno at the end of our trip and Freddy was great in organising our transport back to the hotel later. Overall the administration and organisation was excellent.

Cool sites, could live without the awkward sales pitches

    M_F, Jan 2024
Good tour, interesting sites. Our experience with tours in Peru was that they commonly turn into opportunities for the locals to get deeper into your wallet. Awkward sales opportunities, etc. Not sure if the tour company get kickbacks or commissions from vendors, but more authentic experiences, more free time at sites, less time 'learning about Peru's culture through the lens of a sales pitch' would have been nice. I am sure every piece of jewelry, craft, musician, textile is great, but paying for a tour, wasting time being pitched product, awkward disappointment of the locals is a bit of a nuisance.

Beautiful place, however without tourist infrastructure. Nice and nice people, but no good bathrooms.

    Worth it

Excellent tour. Johnny the guide was excellent. The climb to the island was complicated but you have to do it slowly by the height.

    Everything is long

    Jocelyn_C, May 2025
The distance by boat is very long, especially on return. The spanglish of the waffle was very difficult to understand

A visit that is definitely worthwhile.

    Aline_S, May 2025
Very interesting visit. We were well explained the construction of a floating island. The natives are very welcoming. Craft textiles are very beautiful but quite expensive. The meal was excellent. The guides very competent and attentive to each.
