Guide was great, food was just okay

I gave this experience 4 stars - 5 stars for our guide Emanuel who was wonderful, patient, enthusiastic and just exceptionally friendly, but 3 stars for the food. We visited 3 restaurants, a fruit stand and a frozen fruit/dessert kiosk. Of the three restaurants we visited, we all thought only 1 was worthwhile. It was called Plantivoros and the vegan tacos were stellar. It's not near 5th Avenue or any tourist area, so you'd have to go out of your way to find it, but it might be worthwhile to do so. The fruit stand was just a fruit stand, though there were a few fruits we'd never encountered before (but they didn't taste so great). We learned a little bit about Mexican cuisine, but not enough to justify the price (there were 8 of us, so it added up!) If you do go, leave plenty of time for traffic and parking - there's no parking near the meeting spot and we ended up parking on a side street that was a 7 minute walk to the meeting spot.

Our guide Enrique was friendly, knowledgeable about all things vegan, and truly enthusiastic about sharing the food and culture of Mexico. Even if you’re not vegan you’ll still enjoy the food, and can request to add on cheese if you’d like. We ate entirely too much but it was so worth it! It was hard to pick a favorite food from the tour since it was all so good! We will be recommending this tour to all our friends who are visiting the area.

Memorable and delicious food tour!

Our guide Coco was very knowledgeable with the area and the places we visited. Every location we stopped for food was a surprise and delicious. My party had vegetarians and omnivores and everyone was pleased with the cuisine and stuffed by the end (come hungry). The tour was just under 3 miles total walk. The route we walked had us in the shade almost the entire time. Go on this tour early in your stay so you know where to revisit during the rest of your visit.

Coco gave us (my husband and I) one of the most enjoyable tours ever! Three hours zipped by eating delicious vegan local Mexican fare, walking around neighborhoods we wouldn’t otherwise know of, and conversing with our guide, the super insightful and engaging Coco! Would recommend this tour in a heartbeat.
