My wife and I had an incredible tour with Victor as the guide and Carlos as the driver. We saw the ruins in Tulum on a half-day trip that was informative and entertaining without taking up the whole day. Prefect amount of time and perfect guide. Victor and Carlos were so flexible when we needed to push back the start time.
Victor knew his stuff and made Mayan history and architecture engaging while we toured the ruins. There was no waiting or filler…just an incredible private tour that I’d recommend to anyone.
Victor has been in Tulum for many, many years. But his US upbringing means that he’s so easy to understand.
Other groups were envious of Victor’s wealth of information and engaging style and tried to listen in.
Carlos was a great driver. Quiet, safe, and efficient. That’s all we hope for. And the van was well appointed and comfortable.

Jhony was a 6 (!!) star guide for our express tour. Picked us up on time at our hotel in a comfortable SUV—3 people party. Drive to Tulum interesting and informative—even stopped so we could get coffee. Early September so site not at all crowded. Pointed out many fun details on walkway in—huge termite nest in tree! Had a huge selection of photos/illustrations on iPad to help explain the site once inside. SO informative. One of our party who travels extensively said he was a primo guide. Return trip got us to hotel on schedule. All of us were very pleased with this service. Highest recommendation. Note: site rules forbid taking plastic water bottles into the site, and it gets hot there. Maybe a FULLY stainless steel bottle would be acceptable?

Manuel (our tour guide) was very knowledgeable. He was on time, respectful and even took us to the pharmacy to grab some advil. He picked us up early and got back to our hotel before lunch. We highly recommend this tour and definitely worth the money.

We booked this tour because we did not have a full day to go see Chichen Itza. I was nervous about the lukewarm reviews I’d seen, but this tour was PERFECT. Alex, our guide, picked us up from our resort and got us to the park just as it was opening so we had good lighting for photos, and beat the heat and crowds. He was super knowledgeable, friendly, and flexible. Also took us over to the museum which is an extremely well done intimate experience.
If you want to understand what Tulum is about and don’t want to spend hours in a car, I highly recommend this tour.

Johnny is a great guide and Carlos is a careful driver. We were able to stay as long as wanted. 1 guide for 6 - we could all hear . Johnny and the ruins Parque staff helped 75 year old with sticks or walker negotiate all of the ruin trails and steps (steps too much alone). We got a great explanation of Mayan history & culture, Spanish conquest ordering abandonment of Mayan temples and towns for 300 years, Caribbean views amazing too
ComPared to a tour of 20 or 40, it’s well worth the price difference. Viator does good job of presenting options & on phone helping us find the tour that works for us and Carey Tours had organized and hired quality staff and vehicle to enable us to have an excellent day!

An excellent tour, with our pick-up time confirmed the day before. Our guide Ulysses arrived on time and was extremely friendly and informative the whole trip! After around 30-minutes we arrived at Tulum, way ahead of any crowds - which meant we flew through ticket and bag checks, with time for photos too!
The tour took around 2-hours in total which was perfect, enough time to see the site and learn some history without becoming overwhelmed, or overheated - it's hot there!! We were even able to stop at a little known taco stall on our way back - they were delicious and the perfect end to a morning learning about the country and its culture. Highly recommend!

Great tour! The Tulum ruins and archeological site is such a pretty area and the history is very interesting. Our guide/ driver, Jhonny was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of insight. It was great to get there early before the crowds and before it gets too hot. Because it was the private, we were able to get in much quicker and see everything at a nice pace. We spend about an hour walking around with Jhonny and learning about the history of the area and getting some great photos and then he gave us 45 minutes to walk around on our own. And we were back at our hotel in Playa Del Carmen by 11:30am and able to enjoy the afternoon at the beach. All in all a great tour!

We had an excellent tour with Johnny, Jauquin, and Carlos. Johnny led our tour and did a great job describing the Mayan history and archeological significance of rh site. The area was stunning. The walking was a bit challenging for people with mobility issues.
