A shuttle for pickup was included. The small shuttle takes you to a souvenir shop in Cancun where you will check in and get sorted in lines for your larger bus. The ride is long but its not bad. First stop is for lunch, there is a lot of choices and the food is good, but not great. You do have to pay separately for your drinks unless you choose that option during booking. Chichen Itza was beautiful and the tour was informative. There are a lot of souvenir booths set up along all the walking paths which can be a pain. The Cenote was an awesome experience. Water was cold, clear and beautiful. The jumping platform was also fun.

It is a long day but it...

    Erika_D, Nov 2025
It is a long day but it is also a GREAT day! We had Jorge as our tour guide and Orlando as our driver. Jorge is super informative and great at switching back and forth between English and Spanish (which might be harder for folks who have English or Spanish as a second language). Orlando is also a fantastic driver and we all felt very comfortable on the bus. (Shoutouts to Jorge for making sure no one did number two on the bus!) Highlights include: - the salsas at the buffet and the carnitas tacos. The tortillas were phenomenal! - the Cenote swim: you don’t want to miss it! You’ll just need to pay for a lifejacket and a locker. - the Chichen Itza, of course: so much history and our other tour guide, Roberto, (for English) was excellent at explaining everything. He even gave us tips on how to take the best photos! - the Valladolid: honestly I would have loved to stay for dinner, such a cute square. We were lucky enough to also see a show with folks in traditional Mayan wear and fire!

We hope you take unforgettable memories with you.

Worth the trip. Eferain and Johnny (local guide at Chichen Itza) were amazing. The only thing that was a bit on the down side was the wait time between transfers.

    Wonderful Experience

    Terrible, horrible, rip off

    Elias_R, Dec 2024
If I could give this negative stars I would. 1. First off they were 45 minutes late picking us up. 2. The bus was not made with anyone over 5 foot 3 in mind. The seats were tighter than being on an airplane. After hours of being on this bus my knees, was well as my girlfriends knees, were rubbed raw by the seats in front of us. 3. The bus had WiFi but they would not let us join it. 4. We stopped at the Cenote and then we were told that it was time to go. We were in the water for less than 5 minutes. 5. On our way to Chichen Itza, Ernesto, our tour guide told us that the mosquitoes were very bad here. He also told us that any insect repellent we may have would not be allowed. He also stated that they had some for purchase and strongly recommended that everyone purchase it. He stated the Dengue is very bad here and if we caught it we would not be allowed to leave Mexico. He then stopped with a box of repellent in front of each person and waited for them to buy it. I believe that we were the only couple who did not and were given a dirty look as a result. Needless to say, no one felt or saw a single mosquitoe. 6. He also broke into his story about the Mayan calendar and that each of us would be give a small slip to fill out our month, day and year of birth. This I decided to do as I thought it would be a cool thing to display in my home office. We were then brought to the counter to turn in our slips and to pay for it. I paid and was told they ran out of change and they would my money when I picked up my completed piece. I clearly wrote my information and when I picked it up before boarding the bus I inspected it and noticed they put down the wrong information on the completed piece. I asked for a refund which they refused. At this point I was furious with everything. Finally after raisingmy voice, they gave me a partial and did not include the money that they owed me from the beginning when they short changed me. Plus I left with nothing. 7. The Mayan store was a complete rip off. They tried to sell my Gal a small Mayan mask for $850 US Dollars. They did this while trying to distract me while 2 sales staff were being very high pressure with her. I put a stop to that immediately. They cursed me in Spanish, not knowing that I understood them. I responded in Spanish and they walked away. 8. The buffet lunch was also at the same stop as the Mayan store. I purchased a prepaid tour ticket that included the cost of our first beverage. After eating half our food, we both ordered another beverage and paid 480 pesos for them. Finally after 10-15 minutes I went and asked for our drinks. They said that I needed to pay for them. I told them that I did and they said that the money I paid was for our first drinks. I showed them my booking receipt and they said that was wrong and refused to provide us anything else to drink unless we paid more. Needless to say we did not get our money back nor did we get our drinks. 9. As we were getting ready to leave, our guide Ernesto, saw me arguing with the staff about the errors on my Mayan calendar and wanting a refund. Of course I was more that a tad upset after being fleeced by these opportunists. He then interrupted and said, "I don't know about your country, but in this country we show respect. What a hypocrite. I immediately told him that he was manipulative and should be looking out for his tour guests, not bringing them to places the get ripped off and fleeced not only by the staff at the Mayan store but him as well. Needless to say he did not like having it thrown back in his face. 10. Upon leaving the Mayan Store and out buffet lunch. He immediately gave a speech about how poor everyone is and that the only money they make is on tips and that it was important to recognize this and tip generously. At this point we had just left and we still had stops at Valldolid and our meeting point. Yet, after all of his guilt, shaming and high pressure he took a box and stopped at each person asking for tips, even though the tour was not over. I was so offended by his tactics and approach that I asked my Gal to consider not tipping them as we were just ripped off out of more that 600 pesos at the last stop. 11. Stops were made to drop tourists off at their resort or hotel. Once we arrived in Playa del Carmen we were told that it was our stop. When I told him it was not our designated drop off point he said that it was and to get off the bus. 12. In conclusion, this guy, Ernesto, should never be allowed to interact with anyone ever again. It was as unprofessional, shameful, degrading, manupulative and embarrassing a sight. No wonder why everyone speaks so badly of the tours. Save yourself the money on a tour, rent a car and save yourself the time, aggravation and trouble. I will never do another tour with this company again.

    It's all about tips

    Agata_N, Mar 2024
The trip started with 30-40 mins delay in pickup from Playa del Carmen. The drive to Chichen Itza, according to Google Maps should take about 2 hours. Instead, it took us I think over 3 hours before we reached our first stop which was a horrible tourist trap. Started with a ''ceremony'' run by a Mayan Shaman. We were then lead to the souvenir shop where we had to wait for 30 mins for our tables to be ready for lunch (in a big, 50% empty restaurant). Lunch was complimentary, took about an hour, and food quality was really poor. I'd much rather go to a regular bar somewhere in the street and pay for food, but the place was in the middle of nowhere. In the toilets there was a very loud, scary lady demanding tips in a super aggressive manner. After all this time wasted in this horrible place we were taken to Chcichen Itza, which was beautiful, the guide was knowledgeable and the tour was not bad, but you could use more time there. Next stop - Cenote. We were given one hour which is really not much concidering you need to shower, change, go down to cenote, go back up, dry, change. Last stop - beautiful Valladolid and only 30 mins to enjoy it. I knew the timings up front, so can't complain about this. But what I didn't know, it would take good 5 hours before we reached first official stop - Chichen Itza. I also wasn't aware, I would be kept in a awful tourist trap where all that matter was tips. About 10 mins from final stop by the hotel, the tour guide started his speech about importance of tips. And that they don't accept coins, only banknotes. That really left a bad aftertaste. I don't mind tipping, but not when I'm being forced to do it. I'd rather have the price of the trip increased and not being subject to such experiences. Having said that, I wouldn't chose this trip again. Next time I'd rather just take car with a driver.

Chitzen Itza and Cenotes sales trip

    Barna_G, Feb 2022
They tried to sell us something constantly. Two stops were at closed or dirty toilets to buy tequilas for 200 dollars. Photos were taken of us to be out on alcohol bottles to be sold to us for 25 dollars. Pick up Bus went around 3 hours among the coast to pick up guests. We missed our dinner at 10pm. Only 30 min in the maya village for a toilet, could not really see it. Food at the Cenotes was bad and when I did not want to give a tip I received a bag of 1 peso coins as change for the drinks. Knowledgeable tour guide but very bad Organisation

    Response from Host, Feb 2022

¡Hola!

    Incredible experience.

Great guides with wonderful hospitality, information and fun Tyne while day. Very comfortable, modern bus.

    The best

    Ricardo_B, Feb 2020
Hands down the best. We had a great time and the tour guide made it extremely fun. Take a lot of water cause it is hot. The food was good and the cenote was so cool.

    An experiment to do!

    Mylene_B, Nov 2025
Fernando is a passionate guide; it was very interesting to hear him talk about the history of the Mayans. This excursion perfectly combines guided time with free time. There are good distances to go, it's been a good day, but it's fully worth it. Both guides were attentive, we were often offered drinks, the pick up at the hotel was on time and unambiguous. The visit to Valladolid, a little short in my opinion, and the site of Chichen Itza is really huge to visit. Tequila tastings were also offered. What a great experience!

    Tania_F, Dec 2023
El guía muy amable. Visita totalmente recomendable.
