This was such a great tour! Our guide was so informative, not just on the food of Penang but the history too. All of the food we tried was amazing and in eateries which we probably wouldn’t have found if we hadn’t done the tour. Would definitely recommend this to anyone travelling to Penang.

Great way to explore Penang. The guide was excellent, the food was delicious and we discovered many facts about the history and culture of Penang.

Great walking tour of Georgetown

Brandon was very knowledgeable both about history, heritage and food on this tour. A great small group tour (we had 6) and Brandon managed to ensure we all were looked after and well fed.

Highly recommended

We had a fantastic tour with Brandon, and just wish our appetites could have accommodated all of the delicious food! It was a perfect introduction to Penang culture and cuisine.

Tasty tour

We were in a group of 6 and were lead by our tour guide, Brandon. He was informative and took us for good variety of snacks and meals throughout Georgetown. We tried samosa, chai, curries, laksa, kuih, char kway teow, and various Nonya dishes. It was great to try out the specialties and learn about the primary cultural groups in the city. Brandon took care of ordering and payment for all the food, and kept on asking if we had enough to eat – he was determined to make us full! Highly recommend.

Penang food tour

This tour hit some must try dishes in Malaysia. The char kway teoh and samosa that they showed us were our favorites from the tour. If you're unsure of where to eat or things to do in Penang, the guides are knowledgeable and will happily offer recommendations. Jeremy and Brandon were very kind.

Great tour as Jeremy our guide gave us a lot of historical information of the area as well as explaining all the types of food we tried in Penang. The food was excellent and got a better idea of life in Malaysia.

Jeremy provided an excellent introduction to Malay food and culture. We visited everything from street stalls and modest curb side restaurants to upscale restaurants. Jeremy also provided insights to the various ethnic and cultural communities.

My husband and I did this tour with our 4 year old son and were the only people on the tour. Our guide Jeremy was flexible with catering to our needs and was happy to answer all our questions including questions not really related to food. We enjoyed going to places we wouldn't find on our own and trying the different local dishes, and hearing about the background to the dishes. Another highlight was the summary email Jeremy sent - outlining the places we went and the food we had, as well as recommendations of other places to go and what to have there and even how to order particular things. I'd highly recommend doing one of the Heritage on a Plate tours - particularly early on in your stay at Penang - however I would recommend trying for the dinner hop if possible because it is really hot in the middle of the day!
