It's worth the visit, bring hat or umbrella as it get hot under the sun. The habitat is a must do bring bugs repellent for this.

This is well worth visiting when in Penang. We were advised to go early due to the hot weather, so went at 8am. this meant we could also visit " The Habitat" at 9am when it opened and it was not busy. It is an incredible elevated walkway in the rainforest with stunning views.
We also purchasd a "fast track" ticket and whilst it was not busy on arrival, when we left the queues were long and it was hot, so we appreciated being able to skip the wait.

The Penang hill funicular was a great experience as we get to see various flora and fauna. The top of the hill can be reached within 10 to 15 minutes and the view in the top is amazing. The panoramic view of the Penang city is worth it.

That it’s fantastic ! There are 4 hiking trails of differing lengths and while it isn’t really possible to them all, though it would be a challenge to try, pick one that suits your ability. Either one is a memorable experience.

If you don't have express - forget it. The queue is hours both ways. It's a great ride. Very quick and beautiful.

We were extremely annoyed - Viator took our money for 2 express funicular tix to Penang Hill , confirmed the booking but we were unable to Download the voucher or Contact Viator about this despite multiple attempts. We had to pay at the station for duplicate tix.
Viator was useless. Wouldn’t book again thru them

Useless with viator if internet does not work and vocher will not ppen. Also no refund option. Go with someone else.

Yeah it was ok to fill in a few hours and the ride up was good and views spectacular…but once at the top it seemed a bit run down and a lot of the stalls and eateries were closed ( at least the day we went up they were ). Still not expensive if you get a Grab taxi, so worth a look. Get the tickets on the app and get express.

Skip the line/express tickets are absolutely the best! It was super to get to the from of the queue and be first on the fenicular. Great seats and a super experience. It took a few minutes for the cashier to process the voucher then it was up up and away!!

Good experience. We fairly went in the morning and I initially thought the Express Lane was a waste since there was zero line. However, on our way down, the Express Lane definitely paid off since there was a long backlog of people headed down.

My advice - go early before the crowds hit. I took city bus #204 up to the ticket office and arrive around 9:15 and walked right in after I got my ticket. Lovely up there - much cooler and a breeze!!! Saw some monkeys and wandered happily for over an hour!! Don’t miss this!!!

Try to go early say before 9:30 to avoid queuing for the funicular ride.

Easy booking through Viator and convenient to pick up tickets at the counter. We got there at around 9.30am and queued for well over an hour to get up so would recommend going early. Also, once you’re up there the best bit is definitely Habitat - such a cool place to visit. The rest of the hill is a bit touristy and not that interesting to be honest!

View point worth the trip up there, plenty of grab taxi for your return at the base station

When I heard the word canopy I was afraid. But when I saw and walked in the structures I was bowled over. An architectural and engineering phenomenon. Stupendous views and informative and pleasant Habitat.
I was thoroughly impressed by the helpfulness if the staff and the wealth of knowledge about flora and fauna and animal life the Habitat afforded.

A brilliant trip to Penang Hill and the views are stunning, especially if, like us, you are fortunate enough to get relatively clear weather. Well worth paying the extra to fast track your funicular train entry too - the queues were lengthy but we walked straight onto the train. Don't leave Penang without doing this trip!

Fortunately we got a Fast Lane ticket which takes around 7mins queuing time and enable us to have seats in the train.
The scenery at upper section of the hill is spectacular and nice breezy air. Able to catch the glimpse of about 8-10 dusky leaf langurs playing happily.
The steepness of the journey ferrying a big group of passengers in the train cabins is marvelous.
