This was one of the best tours I’ve ever had. Betsy was so kind and knowledgeable and taught us so much about Oaxacan culture and food. She went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and our needs were met. I would highly recommend this tour and suggest doing it your first day to help orient you. The food was AMAZING.

Our guide Christian was wonderful. He was friendly and approachable, which made the experience even more fun. He’s extremely knowledgeable about the history of the city and the food. All the food was delicious and we were stuffed after the tour.

This was a very intimate and informative tour. Betsy gave us so much information about Oaxaca, history, points of interest and of course, delicious street food. I can’t say enough about Betsy and her style. I highly recommend this to her. It was about so much more than food. She was very relaxed, very knowledgeable and a wonderful resource in Oaxaca.

Superb street food tour. All the stops are amazing, especially the Cosecha market. Really good food and also great to learn about Oaxaca culture and history along the way.

Christian was an excellent guide for myself and my parents. It was our first time in Oaxaca and gave us such a good introduction to the city and its food culture. We got to see 3 very different markets plus a chocolate tasting at the end, and it was very well-paced, with several chances to sit at each stop. My advice to other travelers, come hungry because the food just keeps coming! Thanks for such a nice day!

You will LOVE this tour, exploring hidden and main markets. Delicious, informative AND fun. Don’t have breakfast beforehand.

We took the Street Food Tour with Dani, who was a wonderful guide. She explained the history and purpose of each location and helped us understand what makes Oaxaca so unique.
At the La Cosecha Organic Food Market, Dani introduced us to Guarnachitos, Moletes Platanos, Tyaludas, Pumpkin Tamales, Cacao and Mexican cafe.
She took us into Centro's Mayordomo where we sampled differents types of chocolate.
We then visited the 20 de Noviembre food market for a lunch of beef, pork, vegetables and tortillas fresh off the grill. We moved to another food stall to sample barbacoa and corn tortillas.
After lunch, we sampled chapulinas (grasshoppers) and finished the day with organic ice cream.
Dani made it interesting and fun!

I loved this tour! Daniela was lovely with a good sense of humor, and even taught us about how the food is grown. She showed us how to order in the meat market, and I tried food I otherwise wouldn't due to being overwhelmed by all the choices. I now know where some hidden markets are that I'd walked past several times unaware. I thought four hours might a lot of walking, but it was fine with all the sitting breaks to eat. And the amount of food was perfect; I felt stuffed at the end but not overly so.

The food was good. The second market was quite busy and hot. The leader was pleasant but soft spoken

Excellent. Guide was great. Food selections perfect. Great blend of eating and walking. Talked about other aspects of Oaxaca’s culture beyond food.

We had an amazing time on this tour. We had the chance to visit several markets and order so many dishes. All of the food was absolutely incredible and we were able to learn so much about both Oaxacan history and Oaxacan food. This was the best part of our trip and I’d highly recommend it to everyone!!

This was a perfect food tour! All the markets, all the different types of Oaxacan food, Danielle was a great guide, shared lots of info about the town, food, and culture. Top notch food tour!

Betsy led a wonderful tour with some absolutely delicious food. Most of it was better than any I've had in Oaxaca restaurants. She also gave great advice in general about being a tourist in Oaxaca and food safety.

We explored three Oaxaca markets and they were all incredible! Camilla, our guide, was so knowledgeable about the food, its history and its preparation. We got to try things that we probably would never have experienced without the tour - it was truly excellent!

My husband and I love food tours, and this one was the best one we've ever been on. The variety of food that we tried was amazing...from traditional Oaxacan food to the various bugs found in the cuisine. The variety of food we had was far beyond any other food tour. We tried a lot of stuff! We went on this tour our first full day in town, which was perfect. After this tour, we could easily navigate the markets visiting every day during our trip.
Camilla was an amazing guide and exposed us to so many different types of foods that we never would have tried. The tour was so great that we'll probably go again the next time we are in Oaxaca.

Foodie walking tours are my favorite in any part of the world and this one did not disappoint. It works because Betsy is an energetic bundle of information and kindness, and because the Oaxacan markets are fabulous. Come on an empty stomach, wear good walking shoes and prepare for a fabulous day. The other unexpected delight was that everyone in our group was so lovely. It made for fun chatting over ants and grasshoppers! There may be other foodie walking tours in Oaxaca but hard to image they can beat Betsy’s!

The kids did a really good job trying new foods. We had a taco with a cricket sauce, corn in about a hundred different ways, drinks with viscosity that was a bit questionable and the kids tried it all!

This was one of the best things I did in Oaxaca. I ate food that I never would have known to try, and experienced the markets which can be overwhelming on your own. Our guide Mildred was amazing, fierce with a huge heart and incredibly knowledgable. Highly, highly recommend.

The guisado tacos and the carnes ahumadas are delicious. Betsy is a great human and takes to great places. I’d hit her up for recommendations. Support the cooperativas..

Loads of food included so go hungry and pace yourself. The guide was very knowledgeable and spoke very good English, explaining the origins of all the dishes. Would highly recommend.

Betsy was a great guide! We visited three markets sampled lots of traditional food from savoury to sweet with a side if grasshoppers and mezcal! What more could you want.
This was an excellent introduction to the local delicious food, I couldn't recommend it more highly!

Betsy is amazing!!! She has a real passion for what she does. You will receive a broad overview of Oaxacan cuisine along with some history of the food. She has such a warm personality that she makes you feel like family. This is a very authentic tour that is not touristy in the slightest. Book Betsy now!!

Betsy was an amazing guide, very knowledgeable and friendly. She wasn't kidding about skipping breakfast; the tour includes a LOT of food. Everything was delicious and clearly authentic. Highly recommend!

Our guide was very knowledgeable (and charming) and took us to places we would never have experienced. Highly recommend this tour to do at the beginning of a visit to Oaxaca as the local markets and stalls around the Zocalo will give you the opportunity to explore more new tastes. More fun than expensive restaurants. Get to know traditional cooking.
SophieDige_I, Nov 2024
Betsy var en engageret og sprudlende guide og vi smagte så mange forskellige ting - det var fantastisk. Jeg kan ikke anbefale denne tur nok, hvis du vil have en grundig indføring i det oaxacanske/mexicanske køkken!!
