Itinerary

Begin your day-long tour with pickup from your hotel in central Nice. Climb into a comfortable minivan and travel west toward the town of Grasse, your first stop.

Grasse is often called the perfume capital of France, a moniker that will make sense when you disembark from the vehicle and smell the scented air – lavender, jasmine, mimosa and orange blossom grow in the hills and are used by the town's perfumeries.

Stroll through Grasse with your guide and then take a guided tour of the famous Fragonard Perfumery to hear about the process and history of making perfumes.

Your next stop is the town of Valbonne, less than 30 minutes away. Walk through the town's charming narrow streets and browse shops full of local crafts. Take a midday break for lunch at one of the traditional Provençal cafes in the Old Town of Valbonne (own expense) before getting back into the minivan for the scenic drive along the Loup River to Gourdon.

Gourdon sits high atop a rocky cliff, making it ideal for postcard-worthy views. Your guide will bring you to one of the best places to see the the glorious Cote d'Azur far below.

Upon your return to Nice, stop at one of France's smallest wineries – Château de Crémat – before being dropped off at your hotel. The historic estate produces wonderful wines from its beautiful location, and you can enjoy the scenery while you sip local Bellet wine in a tasting session led by an expert.

This tour included an inside look at the process of perfume production in Grasse, a pretty town perched on a hillside. We continued on to other beautiful hilltop towns, including Valbonne and Gourdon. I wish we had more time in Valbonne because it is so beautiful. We ended at a beautiful winery. Fatima was our tour guide to whom we owe a heartfelt merci for her skillful driving through some hair raising roads.

Great adventure in the South of France Countryside. Fatima was an amazing driver and guide! The tour of the villages is the main part of the tour with one winery at the end.

Great experience! Visited three villages that we would not have been able to see without this. Phenomenal views from high up; makes for great pictures! Fraginard factory was interesting and happy we saw it. Our guide, Fatima, was fantastic and a great driver on the narrow hilly roads. Would highly recommend.

Too expensive for content

Tour provided transportation via van with other parties to parfumerie in Grasse, two small hill towns and a small eclectic winery with mediocre wines. Guide spent more time talking about herself than history/geography etc. Not worth the 125euro/person charge.

A Delightful Tour Of Provence.

This was more than just perfume and wine in Provence. Our guide provided interesting cultural and historical info about each stop, and provided ample time to spend exploring and shopping before moving on to another area. Beautiful towns, nice day but wouldn’t recommend unless revamped

The day started off all wrong. The guide, albeit very nice, pleasant, informative and knowledgeable, was 30 minutes late. It was raining and traffic was even more horrific. We stopped at the Fragonard Perfume Factory in Grasse first. This was a pleasant, but rushed tour. Barely time to take the tour and grab a few soaps and perfumes. Then on to Valbonne. I would skip this town altogether, especially on Mondays as most of the town is shut down. There wasn’t any place to just grab a quick lunch or snack. We asked to get coffee at a restaurant in the main square and the waitress was very rude; did not smile one time and treated us like we were a bother. The on to Gourdon. I would use the time allocated to Valbonne and extend the time in Gourdon, a beautiful, quaint town at the top of a cliff overlooking the Riviera! Gorgeous! From there we were supposed to tour the Château de Crémat and sample glasses of the local Bellet wine. Instead we ended up at a tiny winery. It was beautiful but so disappointing. Overall a nice day but wouldn’t recommend unless revamped, especially for the amount we paid for this tour!

Could not have asked for a better tour. Our guide, Juliano picked us up on time, provided great commentary throughout the day, and ensured the entire group was well taken care of. A visit to Grasse shouldn't be missed when visiting the South of France and the ability to travel with such a small group allowed us to have a personalized experience in the perfume factory. Gourdon and Valbonne we the real stars of the day, and this tour gave ample time to explore the towns, do a bit of shopping, and even have a nice lunch. If you are looking for something outside of Nice to do, don't hesitate to book.

Easy way to experience places you wouldn't normally go

Juliano was a wonderful guide! He was so knowledgeable and kept the groups vibes going! The perfume factory was a very cool experience- wish we had more time to explore Grasse. The two stops were well worth it as well. The winery was fantastic. Wish we had more time to sample and wish we got more wine or snacks but none the less it was good. Well worth the money because you wouldn't be able to do it that inexpensively solo.

The lunch stop and the waterfalls were amazing. The fragrance factory felt a bit like a tourist trap, but I will say the women in our tour loved it and bought a bunch. The wine tasting was cute and I liked the family feel but our group didn’t love the wine. Overall we didn’t feel like the tour was worth the cost. Additionally our guide Victor was not great, felt like he didn’t know where he was going and his driving made us all motion sick. He was nice, but I think if we could have toured it all on our own tbh.

We had a very comfortable drive around the countryside. Just wish the guide spoke more to the group to enhance our understanding of the region. If he did so, he would definitely need a mic to help project to the back of the van.

Irene was our tour guide and she was amazing. So knowledgeable and personable. We learned so much about the region from her. The places we visited were all stunning, especially the small village of Gourdon. The perfumery was a hit with my adult daughters and my husband even said he learned so much. The wine tasting is quick but beatiful winery and 3 great wines we tasted. Please do be aware that the road up the mountain in the morning is VERY windy and narrow. People with motion/car sickness will have a rough time as did a child in our group. It's a tough tour for small children in general. Highly Recommend for adults!

Great tour exploring medieval towns around Nice

Irene was a gracious and thorough host. While the start was a little rough, we stayed in Nice and were picked up at our Hotel 40 minutes earlier than first agreed because we had to pick another couple up in Cannes, 90 minute drive that time of day with traffic, which was brutal. Once we traveled to Grasse, arriving 2.5+ hours after leaving our hotel though it is only ~45 minutes away the tour was excellent. See the perfume factory and learning some of the history was fascinating. The visit to Gourdon and the views spectacular and ending with a lovely lunch in the medieval town of Valbonne. We thoroughly enjoyed our day other than the rough start.

We really enjoyed seeing all the little towns and getting to know their history. We wish we had more time to spend exploring! In fact, you should consider cutting the wine tasting and looking around more small mountain towns. Excellent tour!

A picturesque day

We had an incredible day with Zara! Not only was she an incredible and knowledgeable tour guide, she was very accommodating for our 8 month old son. The parfumerie was very interesting and enjoyable and we really loved the winery - we sampled 6 wines with a charcuterie board + a tour of the facility. But the highlight for us was the beautiful journey through the countryside and the stops at the villages - picturesque! 10/10 recommend!

Marion was a great guide! Was very cool to drive through the hills of the Riviera and see towns I might not discover on my own. Wine tasting at the end was very good. We only had one other couple on the tour with us, so the mini bus was not crowded.

Tour not as advertised - find a different provider

Okay value for rapid fire sightseeing in the Provence region, but not as advertised so cannot recommend this tour. Pros: 1) Good value of transport, it is expensive to rent a car in Nice, and for a little bit more money, you have a driver who navigated tight European village roads. The van was comfortable (for 6 people I would say) and it was really nice to have air conditioning in the unusual October heat. 2) We enjoyed visiting the Fragonard Perfumery in Grasse - we did shop in the nice shop but there was no pressure to buy anything 3) Really nice views of all the villages we visited, away from the tourist hotspots like Cannes, Monaco, Eze or Antibes Cons: 1) The wine tour and tasting at the end of the itinerary was supposed to be the highlight. However, it was the worst experience of the whole tour. We were taken to a different winery even though we had a conversation earlier on the day about it! We went to Domaine de la Source instead of Chateau de Cremat - huge difference in terms of the location and quality of wine! We only got 3 tiny glasses of wine to taste, and only the white was actually drinkable. The wine guide also didn't explained what we were drinking, she didn't even showed us the label of the wine. 2) When we got to the winery we asked the guide whether we were supposed to be in a different location, he said no, because Domaine de la Source is non-commercial and organic, implying that it is a better one. We didn't appreciate this attitude. He was overall a nice enough guy but lying is just not okay. 3) Rushed - you never have more than an hour in each location. It is hard to lunch within an hour in any places in the French Riviera.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback! As the name suggests, the tour is a visit of the villages of the hinterland with a wine tasting. The day trip is not focused on wine. The guide didn't lie about the winery. We are working with two wineries : Domaine de la Source and Château de Cremat. Some of our clients prefer the authenticity and the hospitality of Domaine de la Source other the athmosphere of Chateau de Cremat. The tour that you booked covers different places and it takes time to go from one place to another. The guide respected the timing and the itinerary, he gave you as much time as it was possible. During the tour you have a quick lunch break. There isn't enough time for a lunch in a restaurant. We'll take your comment in consideration in order to improve our services. Best Regards!

We had a lovely day going through some smaller towns that we wouldn't have been able to reach on our own without a rental car, Gourdon was our favorite! The only reason I'm eating this 4/5 is that the itinerary stated that we would be going to Chateau de Cremat, which was the main reason I booked the tour, and we ended up going to a different winery instead, which we weren't informed of the change ahead of time.

A little underwhelming. Our tour guide Michel was so very friendly, and the parfumerie tour was very informative and interesting, but the coach is very uncomfortable to ride in through the winding roads, and we didn't learn much about any of the places we visited. The wine tasting offered some of the smallest pours of any tasting I've ever been to, and it was sweltering hot. We didn't learn much of anything about the wine, grapes, or terroir, and our tour of the winery was very sparse. Again, the guide was fabulous, but the tour was very underwhelming.

Domaine de la Source is a small family winery, a wine producer for a generations. The clients love its authenticity and hospitality.
