Beautiful Provence villages

Saw some beautiful villages at Christmastime. Wish the tour started earlier in the day since it was dark by the last two stops, but Christmas lights in the villages made up for it.

A Fraud

This tour is a fraud. After confirming the previous day the pick-up, no one showed up to pick us up for the tour. Waited for more than half an hour. Avoid this tour operator at all cost.

CANNOT BE TRUSTED! Told me to meet at location for 2:00pm, I arrived 15 mins earlier and am still here 30 minutes past “departure time”. Nobody even showed up and they fail to respond to my messages. Save your money and your time! Absolutely ridiculous.

Nice trip and good value for money

The views and the waterfall were great. Pick up was not communicated to driver so nearly missed the trip but was fine in the end. The perfume factory was interesting and learnt a bit about perfume and that you shouldn't store it in sunlight as it looses its smell or nose. There is a lift to get up to the second floor where we saw them producing soap shaped like eggs.

Thieves and scammers!!!

The company is one big scam! They have contacted me on the day of the tour that they cannot provide it and it needs to be moved. After agreeing upon new date and confirming pick up place, I have never heard from them again. I tried to contact them several times on the day and the following days too, via call and text, but they never got back to me and have rejected refund requests. They have stolen 150€ and never disappeared. It is one big scam managed by thieves!

Excursion not worth the money

Very small car. I and my whife had to sit in front next to the driver in an inconvenient position and sqeezed i. All together nine people in a full van. Guide had very poor knowledge in languages and objects to see on the tour.

The places we visited were good - Gourdon (view of Nice being spectacular), Waterfall (which was beautiful), St. Paul (cute town with so much exhibits), Fragonard (perfume factory was good). The guide Parafat was excellent, kind, respectful and on time. We weren't happy with the very less time we spent at St. Paul, and Viator described the tour to be 6 hours whereas the guide mentioned and showed us on GetYourGuide that it was 5 hours only. He mentioned that Viator was incorrect. This isn't our concern really, and the extra hour would have made a huge difference to the entire trip. Shocked how different information is conveyed to customers than reality. Very unhappy.

Pleasant afternoon excursion

John was a very fun and interactive driver. We felt very welcome, and had a lot of fun getting out of the city to see a few hard to reach places! The roads are very windy as we were taken through the gorges, be weary if you get car sick easily!

Amazing tour! In addition to seeing and experiencing the itinerary items, guide Matt painted the whole picture of each place with historical facts and his personal experiences. Matt also did a great job of balancing guided and self-guided time; allowing the opportunity to explore. Highly recommend the trip with Matt.

Unfortunately after over twenty years using Viator this time round we had a terrible experience ! We were sent a rude and u safe guide - driver who just wanted the tour to end asap as he had another tour at six pm when our tour started at 1400 and should have six hours . He never not once explained where we are going where we are and where to go. He just dumped us in each place telling us we have 20 mins instead of the +\ - one hour we should have had. Very disappointing reply from Viator as well

The tour was cancelled due to not enough participants. No problem. Problem was that the company didn't inform me until 8pm the evening before, only because I kept writing emails asking what is the pick up time from the hotel and getting no answer, asking my hotel reception to call them with them not answering the phone call, eventually they communicated via email saying the trip is cancelled. That was on a Saturday evening between 8-9, while I was getting ready to attend a theatrical performance, and having to handle all this, to take advantage of my free Sunday to go sightseeing in the region. Communication is not their strong point. However, I managed to go on the only available tour on the day and had a very lovely experience of the guide/ driver Monsieur Nicholas. He was professional, punctual, knowledgeable, made the participants feel as a group and enjoy the tour. That a full day Riviera tour Monaco, Eze, Saint Paul de Vence, Antibes, Cannes

Hello Thanks for your feedback. first of all the cancellation of the contryside because you were a single participant and as it is clear on our cancellation conditions we cannot offer a departure for one person concerning shared tours. you asked me if there is another tour available and I suggested the French Riviera tour. you agreed and you took part in the tour with Nikolas our driver / guide and you paid nothing. Madam, we do not understand your dissatisfaction??? for information the lady at the reception called me several times and I answered her calls and your emails.... Thanks

Good for nature lovers who don't want to hike

This tour was very nice and gave us a good chance to see the countryside. Our tour guide Chu was very personable and friendly. It was nice to travel by air conditioned vehicle in August. There were plenty of good views, but this tour does run late so make sure to bring something to eat because you won't get enough time at each stop to sit down at a restaurant for dinner.

You can consider this a drive not a tour ! So manage your expectations so you enjoy it. We went with a car, no wifi on board , no guide only the driver and even the bottle of water was not offered. But it’s a good way to explore the country side . Better than public transportation.

I have had the same experience as another review. I had the trip booked in may, I was called by a lady the evening before the trip (which was frustrating as it was too late time to organise a new trip in its place) to be told it was cancelled but that she would process my refund. It was not received so I have contacted Viator who have told me it was refused due to ‘no show’!!!

THEY cancelled the tour and now won't give me my refund!

I booked a trip on Viator for the Countryside Tour. On Saturday morning, May 14, at 9:50 AM, I received a call from the tour operator that they had to cancel the tour because not enough people had signed up, and they couldn't take just me. The tour operator who called me, apologized but said "Of course you will get a full refund since we had to cancel the tour." I requested that refund and was told that the tour operator said I was a "No show, so that I wouldn't be getting a refund." I called the same tour operator today and she said she would have to look into it, but I have just now received my 2nd erroneous email, saying that they will not refund my money. It sounded like a fun tour but now I believe it was just a scam. They should not be allowed to get away with taking people's money and offering nothing in return. DO NOT SIGN UP for this tour!

Great trip in the beautifull authentic villages, the waterfalls and the perfume maker. I was alone with my daughter and she had a nice time too. It’s not a long time driving between the places and the driver gives some information aswell. 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

Contraté un paseo al museo internacional de la perfumería de Grasse con guía especializado en idioma español Me llevaron a un tour de compras a perfumería Fragonard con guía en inglés que no explicó nada sobre el resto de los lugares que visitamos . No lo recomiendo

Es tut mir leid, keine bessere Bewertung zu geben. Denn es ist nicht unsere erste Tour mit Viator, wir waren stets zufrieden... aber diese Tour hätten wir uns echt sparen können. Ca 6 Stunden sollte die Tour gehen, mit versprochenen Aufenthalten von 1h-1 1/2h. Sehr sportlich berechnet! Die Tour begann schon mit mehr als einer halben Stunde Verspätung, kein Kontakt, keine Info... wir standen einfach da und warteten auf gut Glück an unserem Treffpunkt. Der längste Aufenthalt war in Grasse, Parfumerie Fragonard, eine kleine geführte Tour, durch die Produktion, das Ende fand im Hauseigenen Laden statt. Informativ aber es erinnerte auch etwas an eine "Kafefahrt", mehr haben wir leider von Grasse Capital du Parfum nicht gesehen. Dann gings im Eiltempo nach Gourdon Castle, ca 25 min Aufenthalt, Tourettes-sur-Loup, erreichten wir 10 Minuten bevor die Wasserfälle schliessen, dementsprechend auch nur ein kurzer Besuch. Für uns das highlight der Tour, St.Paul-de-Vence, erreichten wir ca um 18.30, leider waren viele Geschäfte schon zu, sehr enttäuschend.... die Rückfahrt nach Nizza wurde für 19.20 festgelegt. Wir haben uns dann entschieden, in St.Paul de Vence zu bleiben und beendeten die Tour dort. So konnten wir trotz der geschlossenen Galerien und Geschäfte in ruhe durch diesen schönen Ort schlendern und die Gässchen und Schaufenster bestaunen. Fazit, verständlich so eine Tour hängt von Saison, Verkehr, Teilnehmer, Wetter usw ab... Ich hätte mir eine bessere Kommunikation gewünscht, betreffend der Verspätung und mehr zeitliche Flexibilität, im Grunde haben wir nur eine "abgespeckte Version" der Tour erhalten für die wir eigentlich bezahlt haben. Die Orte die wir besucht haben sind auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert.
