We had an exceptional afternoon with Christos (so sorry if we have it slightly wrong!). He was so engaging and full of interesting history and Greek mythology. The wine was incredible. Definitely medium-large glasses of white, rose and red followed by a surprisingly tasty raki! Thank you for a brilliant tour and taking us to such beautiful parts of Naxos!

Angelica was phenomenal! Lovely person and incredibly knowledgeable. We enjoyed a total of 3 glasses of wine and one spritz. It was a great way to explore the town, learn history, and taste delicious wines just like they did in Ancient Greece!

Fun & informative tour! Guide was a great storyteller. It was kind of hard to hear her most of the time unless you were next to her. I thought we would make a few stops for the wine tasting but it was all in one sitting, 3 full wine glasses & a shot in one sitting felt rushed and not very enjoyable. We did see lots of beautiful spots during the tour of old Naxos, overall recommend this tour as something fun to do!

This was such an exceptional experience! Our guide, Angelika, was so warm and knowledgeable about the history and mythology surrounding Naxos. This feels like an essential activity to feel the heart of the island!

We explored the mazes of the old town, which we would never have been able to do without our excellent tour guide. The guide was very knowledgeable and shared many interesting stories. Great way to start your stay in Naxos.

Very informative and a path to see the old town and city that you would not easily do o. Your own
Anglica was a fantastic guide and we had a great time

Angelica was an amazing guide. She was fun to walk around the old town of Naxos with all of the history it provided. She made the mythology side of it a lot of fun and the wines were great! Three good samples of wine about halfway through the tour in an air conditioned gallery.

Wonderful mythology and wine walking tour. The guide was very knowledgeable, and thoughtfully integrated Greek history and mythology into walk through old Naxos town including a beautiful Venetian castle where we were introduced to some Greek wine. The tour ended at Apollo’s Temple for beautiful sunset.

The Naxos Wine and Mythology tour was amazing. It was pretty much the first thing we did when we arrived on the island, as I knew it would give us the info and excitement about the island that my daughters and I needed to properly explore Naxos town.
Maryanne was our tour guide and she was a wealth of knowledge about the island and history of Greece. She was also an amazing photographer! Some of my favourite pictures from our trip to Greece came from her!
We wandered parts of Naxos Town we wouldn't have seen had we not done this tour, and learned about its history along the way. Maryanne took us to a house/museum where we enjoyed some wine and accompanying snacks. We learned about how the old Greek politicians would drink their wine, and we even got to drink out of cups they would have drunk from. The wine itself wasn't awesome, but I can be fussy about my wine! It was still an amazing part of the journey.
We ended the tour at the Portara up on the hill - the Temple of Apollo. This is where we got our best photos of the tour and we said goodbye to our lovely tour friends, who came from Scotland, Canada and the US.
I highly recommend this tour if you visit Naxos, and try to get Maryanne if you can!

The Greek Mythology wine tour was a lovely introduction to Naxian history, mythology, and, everyone’s favorite, wine. Our tour guide Elizabeth was engaging and set the tone for the experience with our multigenerational group. The sunset view from Apollo’s temple was nothing short of breathtaking. Would recommend to anyone visiting, my group’s only regret was that we didn’t do the tour on Day 1 in Naxos!

This was a wonderful tour of Naxos old town. Kris was an excellent guide and shared tons of interesting information about Greece history and mythology. We enjoyed several glasses of wine and finished our tour at Apollo’s gate, just in time for a beautiful sunset.

We really enjoyed this tour! Chris led our tour and did a great job. He shared a lot of information about Naxos as well as knowing a lot about Greek Mythology. He was fun and interesting! The wine tasting at the castle was fun and then we ended up at the Portara. It was a fun evening!

Amazing tour which I will highly recommend. The tour guide was knowledgeable of Naxos Mythology and we enjoyed the stories. We stopped at, at least three or four places for different kinds of wine and cheese and ended our tour at the temple of Apollo. The length of the tour is just enough.

Was a bit disappointed by this tour. It is very very similar to the Naxos food tour. Had the same exact stops. It was a bit on the boring side and I felt like I did not learn a whole lot about Greek Mythology. Our tour guide was lovely and that was the only redeeming part of the tour. I wouldn’t label this a wine tour because you got one small glass of wine in the beginning while standing in a cheese store and during the tour you just walk around for two hours with no wine. The end you get 2 small glasses of wine. I do not feel like this was worth the money and if I were to do it again I would skip this experience.

This was essentially a mythology tour—and unfortunately, a rather dull one. We didn’t receive any wine until the very end, and even then, it was just two very small samples. I’ve been on wine tours all over the world, and I’ve never encountered such tiny pours with no explanation about the wines themselves.
This experience had the potential to be much more engaging and interactive, but instead, it felt like a dry PBS documentary. Also way to expensive for what we got.

Make sure you eat dinner before you go. It was a long tour. There could have been more refreshments . You learn a lot about the mythology of the island.
Donna_P, May 2025
Great guide. She made it interesting and fun. A little more wine would have been nice but didn’t detract from the overall experience.

Librina is a wonderful &”and engaging storyteller of Greek myths. The wine and snacks were delicious. Sunset finale was fantastic.

You can't miss this tour! The mythology in Naxos is so fascinating and our tour guide Labrina did an absolutely phenomenal job explaining all of the stories while making meaningful connections to everyday life. It was the highlight of our trip to Naxos. It's a must-do and you see parts of Naxos town we wouldn't have known to see. It's also amazing to see the sunset over the temple of Apollo. Highly recommend!

Labrina was an incredible guide!! So knowledgeable, and happy to answer any of our questions. We visited some beautiful spots with gorgeous views - especially the labyrinth around the castle - and enjoyed some delicious wine and cheese before going to the final location Apollo's gate. We had such a great time - thank you Labrina!! xx

Our guide Labrina was wonderful! She did an amazing job explaining the fascinating mythology of Naxos while weaving in historical information and information about wine. I don’t know if our trip to Naxos would have been as incredible as it was without her! We were able to see parts of Naxos that we didn’t know about as first time travelers to the island. We were so inspired by our tour, we visited a number of places again the next day. The wine tasting was a highlight as well. Highly recommend!!

Our lovely and well educated hide, sorry forgot her name, was outstanding. She combined her extensive knowledge with stories and as a true local imparted great passion. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour!

Must experience for any first timers in Naxos! Katia was an amazing tour guide that took us around the city of Naxos. We were fortunate enough to get a private tour. We got to hear about the history of the city, the island, and other Greek history. She was happy to answer any questions and wanted to make our trip better. Do this tour early in your trip to get good recommendations for food!
