- On Tuesdays and on the 1st of May the Temple of Demeter is closed and instead you will visit Filoti village.
- The tour guide is not licensed and thus not allowed to guide you inside Demeter's Temple and Panagia Drosiani Church. You will get all the information about the monuments before you enter.
- This tour will take place rain or shine
- The tour begins and ends right outside Naxos Port. Luggage storage is provided for the participants free of charge.
- Pickup service (only-not dropoff) is provided for the guests who book the morning departure of 08.30. This service is available only from specific pickup spots in the areas of Plaka, Ag.Anna, Ag.Prokopios, Stelida and Naxos Town. Upon booking, please provide your accommodation info and you will be notified about the closest pickup spot to you.
- You will have to climb steps and walk uphill in order to visit the Temple of Demeter
- The Demeter's Temple closes early (noon) in case of predicted heat wave. In that case, the tour that departs in the afternoon (13.00) visits Filoti village instead of Demeter's Temple
- It is customary upon the visit to a church to donate a small amount of 1€-5€. These money are used for the operational costs of the church and very often for donations on behalf of the church to people/ families of the community that are in need.
- • You will have to climb steps and walk uphills in order to visit the Temple of Demeter. The tour follows a relatively brisk pace, so it may be challenging and is not recommended for guests with mobility impairments.
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 40 travelers

This was a fantastic 1/2 day tour of the island. It fits a lot in and takes you to sites and villages that are historical, cultural and not crowded. There are a couple of towns that have boutiques with unique items and cafes to grab a snack/coffee. This tour was very unique and special and I highly recommend it!
Our tour guide was terrific! A young man named Thanos who grew up on the island of Naxos and is currently getting his masters in tourism , culture and history. Thanos speaks English beautifully and had a good sense of humor as well. It was very unique to have a tour guide that grew up on the island and was able to explain what it was like. He was also able to explain the culture on Naxos, the history and the Greek Orthodox religion. We were able to see Naxos through his eyes. We even drove through the town he grew up in as he pointed out his church, etc.
This tour was very informative, enjoyable and a great way to see a lot of the island in a short amount of time. The views from some of the sites we visited and from the bus are breathtakingly beautiful! You just wouldn’t be able to enjoy the views like this if you are trying to drive a car yourself. We arrived back at 12:30 pm just in time for lunch and not too tired to do more later.
Kudos to the driver George who navigated the winding roads with the big bus. I’m very glad I didn’t rent a car and instead left the driving in the hands of someone who lives here and knows how to navigate the mountainous, narrow and steep roads.
Take this tour! You will be very happy you did.

We saw all of the highlights of Naxos without having to rent a car. Our guide was very nice and enthusiastic, but difficult to understand his English as he spoke fast.

Save your money… this tour operator is unprofessional. We arrived on time (8:20) but. could not find parking. I dropped 2 of our party to the bus at 8:25 while we went to find parking….. which we found close to a mile from the meeting point. The 2 members of our party that were dropped off explained that we were finding parking and they were told that the tour needed to leave. The tour operator refused to wait for us and refused to refund us our money!!!

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Although we normally do not respond to reviews, we would like to take this opportunity to clarify a few important points that ensure our shared group tours run smoothly for everyone.
Punctuality is essential—not for us as organizers, but out of respect for fellow travelers who arrive on time and wait on the bus. This applies both at departure and at every stop along the way. Since we cannot keep an entire group waiting indefinitely, any delay must be limited.
In your particular case:
• At 08:32 (two minutes after the scheduled departure), some guests had not yet arrived.
• Two members of your group were standing outside our office but did not speak with us or ask for assistance. Only when we approached them did we learn they were part of the tour, and that the remaining two had just driven away to look for parking.
• Unfortunately, we could not hold the bus an additional 10 minutes for parking (you mention yourself on the review that the parking is 1 mile away), as this would have delayed everyone else.
We would like to note that:
1. Our first email clearly requested guests to arrive by 08:20 to allow time for check-in and assistance if needed.
2. Had you or your friends spoken with us upon arrival, we would have gladly helped you find parking—as we have done for other guests in the past.
That said, your request for a refund was not possible.
Additionally, we cannot accept proposals to exchange refunds for favorable reviews, as this goes against our values and policies. We welcome your review and again thank you for the opportunity to point out all written above...

The tour ticked the boxes. We saw the promised sites, got the promised details. But the tour overall was a bit dull. It was hard to understand the guide, he was very knowledgable but his speaking style made it feel more like a recitation than a story. Overall a good tour, but nothing special.

Bring lots of water and your walking shoes. Water was offered after first stop but not again during tour. Guide was great, knowledgeable about sites being visited.

Very comfortable airconditioned bus & great driver🙌Unfortunately the English speaking guide’s accent was so hard to decipher😔Though he was so friendly, with a nice sense of humour, extremely knowledgeable about life & history of Naxos, unfortunately many could not follow his information & speeches😊Only good manners for this kind man made me try & stay mildly interested. Really it is a tour of a couple of quaint historical villages & 2 lovely old churches, a small museum (historical house) with valued history😊Small Pottery shed stop was nice & you could purchase🙂No distillery & cheese tasting that was advertised as complimentary happened at all! Sorry but I would suggest choose another option to see other parts of Naxos😔

Our guide was a little tough to understand at times. It was a big group and when we got off the bus he did not have a microphone. Overall a great tour and I learned a lot. The bus was comfortable as well and there were lots of opportunities to buy souvenirs

It was great to get out of the coast and into the small villages. The stops were brief and I wish I had a bit more time, but we had our young children with us so it actually worked well for them to keep the pace moving. The tour was interesting and the guide was informative.

This was a good tour to see some of the highlights without the stress and hassle of renting a vehicle. The only downside is that they are unable to pick you up at your hotel and we had luggage with us but we just had to walk a little bit for pickup location.

I have taken many tours like this and unfortunately this one was a disappointment. Perhaps because Naxos just doesn’t have enough to offer to fill a half day, but the driving and then walking time involved was too great for such small rewards. The tour guide was also very boring and had such a flat delivery I stopped listening early on.

The half-day bus tour of Naxos with Alex was fantastic! The pace was quite brisk—no one would be bored, and I might even say it "left me wanting more" (maybe I should have done the full day!). Alex was very considerate of everyone's needs and struck a perfect balance between the island’s history and modern life. She’s friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience engaging and fun. Highly recommend for a quick yet rich overview of Naxos!
