Great tour this morning from Frédéric. Amazing knowledge and very approachable with questions from us.
Go early

Thank you so much for the fantastic recommendation! Frédéric is going to be absolutely thrilled to hear your kind words. He loves diving deep into the history and sharing those unique local insights, and he always prides himself on being completely approachable for any and all questions.

Tour guide never showed. We spent $25 to get to designated location but guide didn’t show. Visitor says that an email was sent notifying us of the cancellation, but I never received it if they actually sent it. Bad experience
Response from Host, May 2026
Hi Kelly, we are very sorry for the disappointment and inconvenience this caused. Due to extreme weather conditions, we made the difficult decision to cancel the tour for safety reasons. We sent a cancellation notice by email 48 hours in advance and processed a full refund before the tour date. We sincerely regret that you did not receive the notification and understand how frustrating it must have been to travel to the meeting location unnecessarily. Thank you for your feedback, and we apologize again for the experience.

Frederic was a wonderful guide. He gave us a wonderful tour focusing on the architecture and stories of Old Montreal and a superb history lesson about the ebbs and flows of the constantly shifting relationships between the French, the British and the native people.
Response from Host, Sep 2025
Thank you for your nice review, Robert! We're happy to know you enjoyed learning about Montreal's history, architecture, and dynamic bilingualism with Frederic.

Ann Marie was a knowledgable guide who kept a good pace. I learned a lot about the history of Montreal and she gave great recommendations. I had forgotten about the Archeology museum, so I need to go next time I'm in Montreal!

Organization and friend staff.
Guide:
She arrived on time of not early, and was very friendly and happy. She had a lot of knowledge about a lot of places.
She also wanted to make sure we were ok before she left. I’m also very happy she was ok for taking my photo spice I was by my self.
This is a walking so I would advise people to wear walking shoes and dress for the weather. A good hint is to go to the washroom before you start but you have spots on the walk if you need to go.
If you in Montreal and you want a place for history I would suggest doing it.
Response from Host, Apr 2025
Thank you so much, Angie! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the tour and found the guide helpful and knowledgeable. Great tips for future walkers too—comfy shoes and weather prep are definitely key! 😊

Response from Host, Apr 2025

The Old Montreal Tour with Anna-Louise was just incredible! Anna was a wealth of knowledge. And she was so wonderful to stop at places where we were standing or sitting in the warm sun (it was a chilly, windy day). We started the tour by meeting her in a lovely historic hotel (Hôtel William Gray) {where we enjoyed a wonderful warm Italian caffè and hot chocolate}.
The tour was almost completely flat—a very easy walk. There was plenty of time to take photos and ask questions.
Ending around lunch, Anna recommended a restaurant that was a perfect way to end the beautiful morning!
Response from Host, Apr 2025
Thanks so much, R_T! Anne-Louise will be thrilled to hear your kind words. We’re so glad you enjoyed the walk, warm stops, and her recommendations. Hope to host you again for more unforgettable moments! 🌟

What a fabulous walking tour!! We may have been crazy to proceed in 4 degrees F, but it was great. Our tour guide came prepared with extra gloves and hand warmers. Jeff was so knowledgeable and personable. It was fun and we learned so much. Highly recommend! Our 11 & 13 year old had fun too.
Response from Host, Jun 2025
Thank you so much Michelle! We’re impressed by your dedication—4°F is no joke! We're thrilled to hear that Jeff kept the group warm, engaged, and learning despite the cold. It’s especially great to know your kids had fun too! Hope to welcome you back in warmer weather (or anytime)! 😊🧤❄️

Jeff was absolutely amazing. He did a great job of explaining the history of the city in an interesting and funny way. He was super relatable and professional at the same time. Gave us recommendations for dining and fun after the tour was over. More than happy to take pictures for us. Even in winter this is a must do tour. Couldn’t recommend the tour or Jeff enough.

Jeff was the best guide! We learned so much and he connected with us with all his knowledge. We were lucky to not have anyone else on the tour so it was just us so it felt like walking around with a friend. It is essential to have this tour to know the city, I would recommend it to everyone!

Very good tour of the Old City with clear and concise explanations of the various buildings, areas, etc. François was knowledgeable and engaging as a guide. My biggest issue is that we started 15 minutes late because we waited for some stragglers who were delayed.
Response from Host, Jun 2025

We truly appreciate your feedback about the delayed start—your time is valuable, and we understand how frustrating that can be. We'll be looking into ways to better manage timing in the future to ensure a smooth start for everyone. Thanks again for joining us, and we hope to welcome you on another tour soon!
Mark_R, Aug 2024
I really enjoy these kinds of local tours in cities that we visit. Francois didn’t disappoint. We had a really great walk and tour thru the old city and got some great information, history a bit of local politics, not too much…. If you know what I mean. He also had some good where to get the best views for a glass of wine, tips on old buildings etc.
Response from Host, Jun 2025
Thank you for the thoughtful review! We're so glad you enjoyed the tour with François — sounds like he struck the perfect balance of history, culture, and local insight (with just the right touch of politics!). Great to hear you got some solid tips for views, wine, and architecture too. Hope to see you again on another local adventure! 🍷🏛️🚶♂️
