Itinerary

After pickup from your Montego Bay hotel or vacation rental, or the airport—additional charges apply for port pickup—travel to the Martha Brae River: It’s about a 45-minute drive.

Your private bamboo raft is 30 feet (9 meters) long, with seating for two people and lifejackets included. A local captain rafts you downstream for at least an hour, through luscious vegetation, natural sounds, and fruit trees—although of course you can guide your own raft for photo purposes.

Bring cash to buy drinks, food, or souvenirs, plus music if you’d like to listen while you raft. At the end of the rafting course, your driver collects you and drops you back to your Montego Bay address.

Enjoyed this tour. Ryan was our driver and he took care of us through the whole tour. He was very knowledgeable about the tour and all parts of Jamiaca. Our Captain for the river raft was Richardo #114, he was great also. The tour was beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing.

Excellent trip, the driver (Leon) was great and very friendly, sorted everything out for us. The rafting was very chilled and well worth it. You can choose to go in the river if you want, or stay dry on the raft.

Roger picked us up promptly from our hotel lobby in an air conditioned, private car. His vibe and energy was positive from the start. We had a pleasant ride and great conversation on the way to the river. Once we arrived Roger handled everything with the tickets while we relaxed. We got a welcome drink before he escorted us down to our raft. And we were off! What a special, romantic trip down the river with our raft captain who took photos for us and we had a nice chat with. When we got to the end of the river, after about an hour, Roger was waiting for us. We took a ride to get some lunch nearby and headed back to our hotel. This was the highlight of our 3 nights in Montego Bay - and I can't imagine it would've been the same without Roger and the team at Jamaica Experiences Tours. I HIGHLY recommend this tour and this team!

So Relaxing!!

This was my favorite excursion out of my entire trip! We were picked up by Leon. He’s great! Very strict with the car and wet clothes, so be prepared. He will send the rules out the day prior. Also, confirm the time for the excursion ahead of time. The booking says one thing, but it’s not the proper time. Leon was able to accommodate our morning booking, so we were thankful. The rafting was SO RELAXING!!! There were 6 of us and they allowed us to sail next to each other. We purchased a bottle of rum punch at the place (which was delicious), and I brought my speaker, so the vibes were there. WE LOVED THE CREW!!! They were attentive, so kind, so fun, and so patient with us. We opted out of the massages, but I’m sure they would have been great. I would recommend the morning booking because it was not many people, no lines, and not too hot. We were in and out, back to our hotel by 1 pm to enjoy the rest of our day. Highly recommend!!!!

This is a must do activity in Jamaica, very relaxing and enjoyable for the entire family. The driver was on time, communicative and explained Jamaican culture on the way. The captain of the raft was very knowledgeable about the area and made it a pleasant experience for our family of 3. The rafts can accommodate 2 adults and a kid, highly recommend for families looking for an enjoyable experience.

My first time in Jamaica- I wanted to experience something different and typical. I was on a cruise and they try to force you into their excursions- but they don’t offer this amazing experience. Leon Campbell assured me we would be back in time- he was knowledgeable, respectful and so pleasant and professional- going above and beyond. My raft captain was superb. I highly recommend making this part of your Jamaican trip. This is a MUST DO!

Great experience and great guide. They will pick you up at the hotel, take you to the rafting experience and take you back to the hotel. The rafting is no more than 1 hour. The complimentary welcome drinks is non alcoholic unless you pay extra for rum. Dry tour unless you decide to dive in

Apart from the actual rafting which was super relaxing, enjoyable and just a wonderful experience of floating on the river through lush forestry. The driver was on time and we had to do absolutely nothing but show up at our pick up point. Leon our driver took care of us and everything at the rafting venue. It was a wonderful experience and so worth it. The best part of my vakay. 5 stars out of 5.

It actually rained the day of our adventure😅 But everyone was cool with it. The couples and our driver made light of it raining. We all hung out until the rain stopped. People with great vibes. Our captain was named Eric. He was super fun, knowledgeable, and great photographer. Only advice- bring bug spray.

This was our favorite experience of the trip. The driver was super friendly and kind. He explained the process and walked us down to the raft. Rafting was very peaceful. We purchased coconut water from one of the sellers on the side of the river. It was pretty neat to watch her chop open the coconut. Overall this was a great experience and I can see why it’s so popular.

OMG where so I start! My husband and I decided to celebrate our anniversary in Jamaica and we wanted the whole experience. We decided to do the private bamboo rafting and our driver/tour guide Leon was the best. On our way there he asked if we’ve had any fresh fruit that grows naturally in Jamaica and stopped and got us the sweetest mangos and guineps on the way to our destination. He was very professional and friendly. We had great conversation on our way there. As we pulled up to the Martha Brae river he gave us a quick overview and history about the area. He was very knowledgeable and informative. He stayed near the area the entire time and looked after us. Our rafter, I hate I forgot his name but he’s rafter number is 151 was extremely attractive and patient! He’s the youngest rafter at the location and he was very kind and friendly! The river was quiet, calm, and relaxing. We brought music but decided to listen to nature. Also, make sure to bring enough U.S. cash for food, drinks, and souvenirs. We didn’t and I wanted a coconut and Leon stopped before we left to get me a coconut! It was awesome! They have plenty there to enjoy and support their businesses! The people were very kind and generous. Please please don’t hesitate to call Leon as your tour operator you will not be disappointed and look up the rafter as well! Overall we had an amazing experience and will do this again! I wish I can give it 100 stars.

Drivers are more like awesome tour guides. They made the drive to the river and back so awesome and comfortable. 10/10 would recommend these guys for any transportation needs! The River ride was beautiful and peaceful. Our guide told us about all the plants and wildlife we seen. Took our photos for us. So fun!
