A magical experience! Would recommend. Complimentary drink before departing on the boat. Life jackets available for those that need, although the water is only 4-5ft deep. Option for professional photos at an additional cost ($10usd per person) Transport driver and boat captain were friendly and professional.

Itinerary

This group tour takes the hassle out of the experience by providing round-trip transport from Montego Bay, the boat to take you into the lagoon, and even a glass of local rum punch to set the mood for your night swim.

Your tour starts with hotel pickup to keep things running smoothly. After everyone is collected, you’ll drive around a half hour out to Falmouth, where you’ll find your Luminions Lagoon.

Be amazed as the phosphorescence illuminates your movements as you swim through the blue water.

Spent more time traveling to the area than we did at the lagoon area itself. Then had boat crew were on their phones for the majority of the trip.

Good short trip in the evening. Make sure to carry insect repellent as you might get bitten while waiting for the boat. The lagoon was beautiful, where you get to swim and make bioluminescent waves yourself. Wish we had a little more time in the water. Apart from that it was very nice.

It rained a lot day before and day of. So there wasn't much to see. Also the boat felt dicey to even be on. But at least transportation was good, cuz it was to a sketchy area. Kinda wish they would have canceled knowing we wouldn't see much.

The bioluminescent organisms are very cool. The boat driver has pro cameras to take pictures of you. Make sure to pick a day that has a small moon or clouds! The driver picked us up on time. The road is a bit rough for last 3 minutes drive and the streets are dark so it is a bit scary.

The tour bus that came to pick us up had a dingy smell and it was a total put off. The driver was nice and polite though. The place he took us was pretty rundown but that was ok. The real disappointment was when we got on the boat and went into the lagoon, the water glowed only when stirred. The picture was used as click-bait and does not represent the real experience. Do not waste your money on this experience.

Luminous Lagoon: we were picked up at our hotel on time by Errol. Errol gave us a great history of the island and of course the impending hurricane update on Melissa due to hit in 2 days. Errol is super knowledgable and very safe driver, especially on the very dark drive to the lagoon. Our drive from MoBay was about 45 minutes. Once we arrived we were greeted and offered refreshments on the covered dock. EXCELLENT rum punch! We boarded the boat with Captain Adonis at the helm and 1st mate Scratchy. They gave us a great history of the lagoon and the cause for the ‘glow’. Captain Adonis showed us how to get the best ‘luminescence’ and we got in the water. They have life jackets for use. Once in the water they instructed us on how to get ‘the glow’. FYI: try not to walk on the bottom as it will stir up sediment and reduce the glow…float and move your hands back and forth. Captain Adonis did say that we would not see a vibrant glow because it had rain in the past several hours-still raining off and on, but a tropical storm was brewing. We swam and the luminescence glowed softly around us as captain Adonis took our photos. There is a ladder to get back in the boat which was very easy-especially if you have knee issues. Bilateral knee replacement friendly. Pictures turned out great!! Overall captain Adonis & Scratchy we hospitable and informative. Errol drove us safely back to our hotel with the soft sounds of Reggae. Awesome time! Thank you to Buzzo’s Boats & the team

Didn't enjoy this tour as I nearly drowned, as my life jacket was tightened properly by the tour guide, in fact it wasn't a life jacket it was a ring.

I shetal_u, I am Errol of esteentours. I'm not sure who you did this tour with, we don't offer rings on our boats, we have different life jackets on board that is fitted on each guest before they enter the water, we make sure that jackets are properly fitted.

Lackluster Lagoon Tour

This is not Glistening Waters. I unknowingly purchased the wrong location. I purchased 75 tickets for my group. I was not aware there were multiple locations/tours. I had hyped up Glistening Waters to my group. Ordered the tix. They picked us up took us to some rinky-dink location. No food. Nothing but water and rum punch and mosquitos. My group got ate up. The water fit my first group was not as luminous. The second group was taken to a different area and had a better experience be use the water was warmer. I was thoroughly disappointed for my guests.

Let me take the time to let you know that for this experience, some call it glistening waters, some call it the Luminous Lagoon, it's still the same experience. I can understand that if you already had experience this venture and wanted to go with the operator you used before, then the options are open. The Luminous Lagoon/glistening waters is one of the same, it's the same experience you get as there is only one in Jamaica, I can understand if you wanted some where to dine will doing the tour. I booked this tour knowing this is a LUMINOUS LAGOON GLISTENING WATERS night-time tour but instead we were taken to Buzzo's Guest House by the sea. Not the GLISTENING WATERS LUMINOUS LAGOON. This was a bait and switch. Very misleading information by Esteen Transfer, Tours & Photography Ja. There's only one luminous Lagoon in Jamaica and i believe there's only one LUMINOUS LAGOON GLISTENING WATERS as well. By them using other company's name for their gain is unethical and untruthful.

I think you should retract this statement, there is only one Luminous or glistening waters in Jamaica, they're many operators to this attraction which I am a license tour operator, Jamaica Tourist Board certified, that's the legal seal of the Jamaican government to operate.

we were the only guests and hoped to have other people there for a better experience but there weren't. Not great experience & the guides were okay but we aren't water people. It was actually kinda scary & awakward being in the water at night with only 3 guides in the middle of nowhere. make sure other people besides guides or on the boat for a better experience. also we were not offered life jackets.

It was a great experience from the point of pick up to the destination. Our driver was friendly pick up bus was clean and the drive was comfortable. When we got to the luminous lagoon we were able to jump in the water for a swim and see the lagoon come alive in a bright blue color with every movement of out hands and kick of our feet

Buyer beware first things first please make sure you have bug spray. There are a lot of mosquitoes on the water due to the humidity and moisturealthough the tour guy was very nice this excursion cannot be done anytime anywhere, weather, plays a huge factor in the easy access of the bio luminescence viewing. It is absolutely there. It’s just easier if the weather is conducive to it being easier if it’s not, you will definitely have to get in the water to experience it up close other than that no complaints here and it was still a lot of fun. The water was warm and safe even my daughter who is 8 years old was able to get in & swim in the darkness

First 75% of the time is traveling on the bus. You’re only on the boat/swimming for about 30min. We had to stop and go pick up lots of people so we’re on the bus for over 2 hours and didn’t reach back until nearly 10pm. We had booked for 5pm and they told us the evening before, after the cancellation time, they would pick up at 5:30pm. They offered the rum drink but not a single person got it. They just passed out water. The guide said it was a 50/50 Chance if you’d see the glow. Thank goodness we did. And while it was neat to see. It was not worth the hours of travel time and cost for a few minutes in the water. I recommend going to see it but not through this vendor or app. The boat seemed overloaded, no drinks, hours in a bus and minutes on the water.

Hi Lisa_B, I am sorry this tour did not worth it to you, but to say it's miss leading is a whole different thing. After picking up your group I only made two other stops picking up a total of six persons in a vehicle with a carry capacity of 25 persons, please remember that your airbnb was a 50 minute drive from the location. Every body was offered a choice of a drink or water, your group took water, that's what you all asked for. And also the boat has a carry capacity of 30 persons and there was only 25 persons on board. It is also clearly stated in the description that the time on the lagoon is 30 minutes. We appreciate you taking the the time to make this tour, but there was nothing misleading about it.

Once in a lifetime experience however there were some people including myself who got stung while in the water but it was worth it. The pain went away by the time you get back to the bus so perhaps you could wear a water suit of some kind!!!

It was a nice tour. The water was warm. I would recommend water shoes as they say because the bottom is mush and you sink in about 6 inches. But if the mush doesn't bother you go barefoot as our group did.
