Itinerary

Meet a driver at your Malta hotel for a morning departure, then travel to the Three Cities, the collective name for the fortified centers of Cospicua, Vittoriosa, and Senglea.

You’ll drive past the double-fortified harbor city of Cospicua, then stretch your legs on a walking tour through Vittoriosa, which has a long history of sailors, merchants, and warfare. Soak up the fascinating atmosphere of the area, following winding streets past a series of historic landmarks, with an experienced guide to lead the way and share stories. Find out how the island city of Senglea resisted the 1565 Great Siege of Malta, and why it was eventually joined to Conspicua by a land bridge.

Following your time in the Three Cities, continue to Marsovin Cellars, where you’ll learn about local grape cultivation and winemaking. Taste Maltese wine alongside a selection of savory snacks such as local-style bread and cheese, the perfect introduction to Maltese cuisine.

3 cities wine tour

Susan_R, Apr 2026
The mini bus stopped after about a 20 minute drive and let us all out to pick up a different coach for our specific tour, which wasn’t in the itinerary and probably should have been, because we weren’t expecting that. Some people were starting to get a bit cold waiting in the shade. The tour of the city and the venue for the wine tasting were very good and there was a generous selection of food. There were 3 wines to taste, all good, and the price was reasonable too if you wanted to buy a bottle of any of the wines tasted

Great half day tour,...

heather_f, Jan 2026
Great half day tour, Mario the guide was informative and funny . Although it was raining it was only a short walking tour about 1 hour , then bus to a wine restaurant for quite a few snacks - more like a light lunch and 3 small glasses of wine. Very good value for money

Decent Tour, Food and Wine

Tanya_D, Jan 2026
This tour was perfectly pleasant, but not quite as special as we’d hoped. The main focus is a roughly one-hour walking tour of Vittoriosa, which is nice enough but fairly light in depth. The guide shared some interesting facts and points of interest, though their somewhat idiosyncratic English made things a little hard to follow at times. Overall, there wasn’t much of a clear or coherent narrative to help visitors really grasp Malta’s extraordinarily rich and layered history. It was also a bit awkward to overhear the guide and bus driver openly complaining about another guide being late. That said, the Vittoriosa visit did include entry to a beautifully restored historic house, which was genuinely fascinating and a highlight of that part of the tour. The food and wine tasting that followed was generous and enjoyable, if a bit plain. The buffet of traditional Maltese foods was plentiful and could easily stand in for lunch: sundried tomatoes, peppered cheese, fresh breads, broad bean dip, sausage, and more. The wine tasting included a white, a rosé, and a red, all solid entry-level introductions to Maltese wine. The absolute standout of the entire experience was the sommelier who led the wine tasting. He was exceptionally knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate, and his explanations added real depth and value to the experience. There was also an excellent opportunity to buy wine afterwards. In addition to the tasting wines, some prestige bottles were available, and the sommelier gave thoughtful, expert advice. Prices were very good too. We bought the beautiful 101 Marsovin Brut Rosé and the Ġuże Passito dessert wine for €30 and €28 respectively, both of which we later saw at the airport for at least €20 more per bottle. All in all, a decent afternoon. If you’re particularly interested in Maltese wine, the information and buying opportunity makes it worthwhile, but don’t expect a deeply immersive historical tour of the Three Cities.

Great tour

Rebecca_G, Jan 2026
This was a great tour. Mark was amazing. He explained everything we saw very well. The wine tasty was great too. Good food and great wine. I would recommend this tour to anyone that does not want to walk for a little bit. The walking isn't bad but i could see someone with mobility issues having a little trouble. Great tour!!

Ecxellent tour

Lidia_M, Nov 2025
We were very happy with the tour, the pick up was on time, the tour guide Daiwa gave us a lot of information. We walked through the amazing old narrow streets and the wine tasting was also great!

A steep one hour walk...

Kimberly_R, Nov 2025
A steep one hour walk through the three cities. Although several “rest” stops in between, it is not for those with mobility issues.

Good tour, learned a lot....

Caroline_G, Sep 2025
Good tour, learned a lot. Guide was very knowledgeable. The wine tasting although only 3 wines the buffet available was very tasty.

Excellent!

Ramesh_M, Aug 2025
Excellent tour .. seen old three cities by walk Wine tasting experience was good Overall good experience

Great morning!

Stacey_M, May 2025
Pickup was late and a little chaotic, but that is Malta traffic.... after that it was smoothe sailing. Our guide was great - knowledgeable and friendly. We walked through the 3 cities which took about an hour and a half, then took the bus to a nice wine tasting with a full spread of antipasti - much more than the cheese and olives that I was expecting. Good value, nice tour.

Tour very lacking and not well presented.

Heather_p, Apr 2025
We had a 40 minute late pickup, guide was disorganized and was trying to present the tour in two languages. I would not recommend this tour. Not a favorable experience. I did meet another solo traveler that was the only positive of this tour.

Recommend to anyone!

Chad_C, Mar 2025
Trip was good fun! Great tour guide, very informative and a good choice of wine. Thank you for a great morning!

Very well organized tour

Natalia_L, Feb 2025
I took this very well organized tour in February 2025 and I had nice time visiting three towns. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and I enjoyed walking with him! The wine tasting was perfect with lunch that was also very tasty with a big selection of local cuisine! I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Malta.

Enjoyable

Noel_Q, Nov 2024
I thought it was a walking tour with wine. It’s more a walking tour with wine and food at the end. For all that it was very enjoyable. Good guide and beautiful location to walk through.

Informative tour, good wine and food

ines_q, Nov 2024
Our guide was very good. The cities were beautiful and there was a great selection of Maltese foods at the wine tasting and the wines were delicious. We had some issues beforehand as we were not told where the pick up location would be and the tour operator office closed at 4pm, so maybe make contact with them about this well in advance. Other than this it was a great experience.

Disappointed

Graham_W, Oct 2024
In a large group of approx 50 people. It made hearing the guide very difficult unless you were near the front, which was difficult at times given narrow streets and so many people. A handout of the cities main points would have been good. The lunch was good.

I only gave this tour 1...

JOHNEDWARD_A, Oct 2024
I only gave this tour 1 star because we missed the tour because they change the pick up point. We did receive an e-mail with the change but we had phone problems so we missed the e-mail. Please check your phones for messages. The tour operator was very good and tried to a arrange another tour for free but due to our time in Malta this was not possible. Please give this tour a try.

The add is misleading...

James_K, Sep 2024
The add is misleading showing wine barrows thought we were suppose to see wine cellar or winery not much of a wine tasting not much value for the price

Not what I had hopef

Monica_J, Sep 2024
Not enough explanation of the history of Malta. Too big of a group so it took way to long to get everyone organized.

Not thrilled with the experience

Jessica_W, Sep 2024
When I booked the tour, it said choose from 150 convenient pickup locations. I chose a hotel around the corner from where we’re staying. The day of the tour (only after I reached out to confirm my pickup location), I was informed the bus doesn’t come into Valletta and pickup was at a hotel further away (generally not a big deal, but I am traveling with my grandma, so it was a huge deal). Had I not reached out to confirm pickup location, I think we would have been standing where I initially chose and completely missed the tour. We then drove around for almost 1.5 hours picking people up. Then we had to change a bus because the initial bus was only for pickup. 2nd bus was to take us to your starting point. The tour description said walking tour, but it’s 1.5 hours of walking the 3 cities, so, while not the tours fault, my Grandma couldn’t walk that far so we sat on a bench while the tour went without us. So for anyone doing this tour, just know, you walk for about an hour or a little more…if you’re mobility limited, don’t book this tour. We then joined the tour again and went to a restaurant where we had food and wine tasting. The Viator description said light snacks…this was a huge spread of food which was a nice surprise. Good wine. And after you have the choice to purchase wine and olive oil. The tour said 8:30-12:30. We were picked up at 8:40 and didn’t get dropped off until 1:30. Not thrilled with the experience, but the food/wine part was nice.

Great morning out

Alexander_S, Sep 2024
This is a great way to find out about the history of Malta see the sights and taste the local wine would recommend it

3 cities and wine tasting

gesmall, Jun 2024
We had a lovely time but spent time waiting for people who were late and the driver was not only very impatient and loud but took phone calls while the guide was talking about the surroundings. The guide who was very knowledgable and good fun also took more than a few phones calls mid talking which I found a bit annoying but overall it was a nice experience.

Don’t waste your money there

Tommy_L, Jan 2024
Stole my money for no service! Ask for a refund and got refused even for 75%. A scam m, that’s it! Don’t waste your money there.

Great wine!

Julius_E, Dec 2023
The guide did a good job of explaining and keeping the tour interesting. The bus tour was a great way to see the island. I enjoyed sampling wine.

Good tour but the wine a little limited.

Mike_H, Dec 2023
The tour guide was very good and the wine specialist knew his wines. The wine choices (3) were a little limited and not particularly to our taste, but it was an enjoyable event overall. Recommended for people who want know more about the 3 cities too.

Fun Tour

Samantha_W, Oct 2023
After some of the reviews I had low expectations but this tour was great. The walking part of the tour was interesting, although a little short. The wine tasting of 3 wines was fun with lots of lovely snacks to try. Wine was priced around €8 per bottle so excellent value!

Three cities and wine

Rosemary_B, Oct 2023
A knowledgeable guide who was passionate about his country. Wine experience was good, with food tasting

Pick up was disorganized...

David_B, Oct 2023
Pick up was disorganized to say the least. The “Hotel” we were to be picked up from did not exist. The van that eventually picked us up was dirty.

A lovely morning!

Rosie_B, Jun 2023
Although there were a few things my partner and I would say needs improvement about this trip, we did have a lovely time (hence the four stars). Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the three cities, and took us on an interesting walking tour. We stopped at a small shop where we were able to try a selection of jams and honey, this was a great addition to the tour. We were shown inside the oldest house in Malta which was fascinating! The wine tasting was nice, but it was only a tasting of three wines (a white, rosé, and a red). We were told information about the wine which was interesting, and provided with some light lunch which was nice. The staff were all really great and we were able to have a good laugh with them! In terms of things we would suggest as improvements: - The wine tasting could have been a little more extended, for example, a bigger selection of wines and seeing some of the production of the wine. - The walking tour felt a little rushed, maybe this could be slowed down, and maybe we could have seen a little more of the three cities. Overall, we had a lovely time and would recommend it to others, it was a nice way to spend our morning :)

Disappointed

Noa_B, Jun 2023
Mediocre- the bus was half an hour late, the guiding was very specific to the tour with no general information about the country, people and culture. There was no tour and explanation about wine making just the wine tasting itself. On the whole disappointing. Just a restaurant that serves wine not a winery just 3 poor glasses of wine barely a sip

Disappointing

Tracy_W, Jun 2023
We started the day in a hot mini bus, which was 25 mins late, after a 45 minute drive then we joined the main coach which we had to wait 10 mins for only to drive around even more to pick more people up from nearby hotels which they could have easily walked to the coach. Eventually reaching the three cities and then on to the wine tasting which was disappointing. After the wine tour we drove around for at least an hour dropping people off at their hotels then transferring to the mini bus to take us back to our hotel, most of the time on this trip was spent picking up people and dropping off people at their hotel. To be honest instead of joining a coach there should have been 2 mini buses. Would not recommend this trip.
