We had a great guide who gave us facts along the way about Melbournes history. The sanctuary was amazing. The Beach boxes were so cute and unique. This tour was recommended to me by 2 different people and I will recommend to anyone coming to Melbourne. I hope next trip over I can do the penguin parade.

The entire experience was amazing. I also got spend time petting Frosty the Koala which was an experience in itself. There were kangaroos and wallabies roaming free so you were able to feed and pet them. 10/10 would recommend

My husband and I had a great time on this trip. The length of time for the trip was perfect and our guide Herb was fantastic. We would definitely recommend this experience to anyone!

We had a wonderful guide! He knew the area well and shared some great stories which made the long drive time go by fast. The half day tour was worth the money and thanks to our entertaining guide, he made the trip that much more fun!

I have booked plenty of tours using Viator/Trip Advisor and Get Your Guide over the years, and never provided a bad review before. But this warrants the criticism. I received a notification the day before the scheduled tour with two conflicting meeting times, 8:00 and 8:30. I messaged the provider to obtain clarification, but they never responded. So to be safe, I showed up the meeting spot at 8:00. By 8:30, there was still no sign of the tour guide. At 8:40, I called Viator, only to learn that the trip was canceled. Needless to say, I was irate. I received a message from the tour operator through Viator informing me that “There was an unexpected operational issue this morning... I’m sorry we didn’t respond to your messages sooner or advise you of the cancellation — we were trying to resolve the issue, but unfortunately we weren’t able to”. What kind of nonsense is that? Regardless of the issue, there was absolutely no excuse for not getting in touch with me. They did refund me and offered to re-book me free of charge the next day, but that was the day I was leaving Melbourne. I really wanted to visit the Moonlit Sanctuary so I did so on my own – using Uber at 3 times the original cost – and I would highly recommend a visit here. But I would really think hard before booking with this company, Oceania Tours and Safaris, whose customer service skills stink.

Gary our tour guide was th highlight of the tour. Kind and extremely knowledgeable. Weather may have been too warm for this tour as animals were fairly inactive this day and we missed seeing many. The wallabies were great and had fun feeding them. Did love seeing the boxes an their various designs.

Great experience, the best way to get to know wildlife up close. Excellent organization, transportation in front of the hotel, good guide, more than expected.

Herb was our guide & driver and he was fantastic! We were picked up on time, and given accurate timelines for the tour. The experience at Moonlit Sanctuary was amazing! We were able to see the wildlife up close and fed so many wallaby's and kangaroos that were just roaming around the property. The koalas were alert and Taylor was very informative about their species. We learned a lot about the conservation efforts and purpose of the sanctuary.

I loved the Moonlit Sanctuary, particularly the fact you could be immersed with (and feed!) the kangaroos and wallabies, and you had the opportunity to pose with and pet a koala. The sanctuary does not force the animals to do anything they do not want to do, so I appreciate their philosophy as well as their educational and conservation efforts. Stopping by the Brighton Beach bath boxes was an extra treat! Rick was very informative and also helped to make sure we saw the animals we wanted to see! This trip is perfect if you’re looking for a 1/2 day experience to see some of Australia’s native wildlife!

The driver/tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and pick-up was on time. We went first to the beach to see the boxes and there was enough time to explore and get a cup of coffee. The Moonlit sanctuary was on our own. Plenty of time to see all of the animals and visit the gift shop. You are able to get close to the kangaroos and wallabies to feed them. Suggest wearing a hat and bringing water.

It was a great tour and our guide was extremely knowledgeable. The trip was a real highlight to see Australian wildlife.

A perfect taste of nature, history and education. Getting up close and personal with amazing Australian animals at the sanctuary was a unique experience we will remember forever. Herb, our guide, was spectacular. Very nice person, knowledgeable and funny! To add, the customer service received prior to starting the tour itself was incredible. Thank you so much!

We loved this tour! Our tour guide was amazing providing lots of fun facts about Australia and Melbourne all along the route. When we got to the sanctuary he was wonderful helping us check in, making sure we were able to get interaction add ons, and even walking us around to show us where everything was! He was as knowledgeable as the staff there and gave us great details on all the animals and how best to interact with them. Make sure to check out the red necked wallabies! We were so friendly and gentle and they seemed to love being with everyone. They were our absolute favorites! We also really enjoyed the sanctuary talk, definitely attend one (and sit right up front)! This was great experience with a wonderful tour guide, we highly recommend!

I wanted an opportunity to see some Australian animals and this tour was wonderful. Feeding Kangaroos and Wallabies was pretty amazing. I splurged for the social Koala encounter and I’m so glad I did! It was wonderful to be able to pet one. I will treasure my photos of doing so. Sarah, my guide was knowledgeable and fun.
Darrin_M, Oct 2025
We enjoyed the relaxed and informative trip.
Our guide was very friendly, even came and picked us up.
I think this is a good family outing.

I loved this day even though it was cold and rainy at times. The wildlife sanctuary was awesome with koalas, kangaroos and wallabies in addition to many other birds and animals. I wish we had a little more time-even a half hour more would have been good in order to not feel rushed. I paid extra to pet the koala bear and that was definitely worth it. I also was able to feed the kangaroos and wallabies which was another unforgettable experience. The beach was nice but would have been better on a warmer day.
Carlos_L, Sep 2025
1/2 day was just right. Leaves time to return to the city and explore. Got up close to kangaroos, wallabies, and koalas. Got “not-as-close” to other wildlife such as emus, wombats, and more.
Annie_D, Sep 2025
We did not have much time, this tour gave me a simple but great experience. The beach was wonderful and the boxes had nice designs. It was too cold to test the water. The moonlite sanctuary was made my Australia experience. We were able to pet the koala bear, additional fee but worth it Victor the koala was cute. The kangaroos were friendly and hungry. Our tour operator was friendly, knowledgeable and great benefit to our experience
Sairam_C, Aug 2025
It was an exceptional experience to interact with the animals and provide them with sustenance. The opportunity to observe wildlife in such close proximity was truly remarkable.
Joseph_E, Jun 2025
Hands down the best animal encounter experience. My family and I got to pet the koala and feed mane kangaroos. Great experience. Our tour guide Johanna was very attentive and helped us take some family photos.
CLEVERSON_L, Jan 2026
The guide, Richard. It was very good. He strived to speak to various nationalities, and was very kind to everyone. Congratulations to the operator.
