Excellent tour. Guide was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. Not a tour for anyone who has a problems with steps.
It was an amazing experience. Cristina was wonderful and very informative. She was funny and made it a fun experience as well.
Good tour guide. Nice tour of alcazaba. Ideal with kids as only 1.5 hours. Brilliant views and plenty history.
Cristina was fabulous. She had passion and knowledge of Alcazaba. We really enjoyed the specific details and stories you wouldn't get if you went on your own. Thank you
The amazing Christina has demonstrated Al Cazabah details very well and she knows how to tell information and keep you engaged.
Great knowledgeable historian guides. Stairs and ramps abound with uneven ground but there is an elevator. Tour does not take advantage of it until the end.
GOOD short tour. Cristinawas veryinformativeand engaging. No need to show up 1/2 hour in advance though. 10-15 minutes is enough. Just hang around the pyramid and you'll get a what's app when the guid is ready identifying themselves.
An enjoyable and informative morning with Cristina, who was very enthusiastic. Would 100% recommend this tour 😊😥
I was really impressed with the tour. Our guide, Cristina, was charming and engaging, and made the whole experience really enjoyable. My 11 year old son spoke of little else for the rest of the day! Really well organised, and no queuing to get in. 100% recommended.
Cristina are guide was friendly , informative and lovely. The tour gave just the right amount of information and the tour as just long enough. Would definitely recommend
Tour guide was very knowledgeable and we were also able to see the Roman theater. There is more walking and uphill climb than expected.
Christina was super fun, informative and knowledgeable. She is one of the best tour guides I’ve ever had
Very informative and worth getting the ticket ahead of time with a guide to avoid all the lines and really understand what you are looking at.
I’d deffo recommend booking a guided tour as it allows you to discover the history of the alcazabar the guide was very knowledgeable and also recommended places to eat
I’ve been to Malaga two times before and somehow did not see this attraction. I made it a point to do it this time. I’m glad I did. The tour is well worth the fee and I always recommend guides to others for places like this. If yourself guided, there is a lot of information you won’t get and interacting with the guide is part of the experience. Cristina was our guide on this trip. She is a vivacious, young Spanish woman who clearly loves what she does. She speaks near perfect English with a pronounced Andalucian accent (which makes her all the more charming). The views from the top of the Alka Saba are alone worth it even if you don’t enjoy the history as much as I do. This was a great way to spend an hour and a half before descending down and exploring the bustling city.
Amusing yet very historically informative. Thanks to Cristina, who made it all happen. She was very professionally and spoke eloquently with pride.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Cristina… She’s very knowledgeable
Our guide, Cristina, was incredibly energetic and knowledgeable about the Alcazaba fortress. Her skill as a guide made me gain a great appreciation for the history of Andalusia and Málaga as a whole, as well as the design and engineering of the Moors. Would recommend taking about 60-90 minutes out of your stop in Málaga (you can walk there from the beach or old town easily) to attend this tour.
I was very impressed by the professionalism of the tour guide, Cristina. She is highly organized as she does not only explained the history of Alcazaba and the various checkpoints, she also prepared photos of the original look of some interesting checkpoints. That makes the tour more interesting and engaging
We were very fortunate to have Cristina our guide from Viator. She was great. She infused history, geopolitics and humor to educate us all. One of the best Viator guides we have experienced.
Great history review; Cristina was great; beautiful grounds and May 1 weather was great. Would recommend.
Christin was lovely very informative and great bubbly personality.
However we followed the meeting place directions to the T and they weren’t correct. It took us to the wrong end of the road and therefore we missed our 12.30 tour. Nobody had heard of Viator we spoke to tourist information to tour guides that we did see and many tourists as well. We spoke to Georgina (I think was her name) but she was not able to help direct us as she didn’t know Malaga location. She booked us onto the 5pm tour but it wasn’t what we wanted. I received a WhatsApp message from Christin which came through literally as we were finishing our tour at 6.30pm. We should have received this first thing in the morning THEN we would have been standing in the correct part of the road at 12.15 ready not at the other end. We explained to Christin about our 12.30 booking and incorrect direction details and she said “ Lots of people say the same” !!!!!! This is not good Viator!!!! I have used you for trips before in other cities and this time I was very disappointed and as a consequence of then having to hang around all day to do our tour the car parking costs went up to Euros 15.90. So I’d like Viator to compensate me with the price of one member of my party please. I look forward to hearing from you asap
This was a great tour. Salvador was very knowledgeable and fun. It's an amazing place. I highly recommend it.
Lovely views. Informative guide, made the experience interesting and inclusive.
Not a huge amount of walking but paths can be uneven.
Very in depth time spent with knowledgeable guide who wonderfully interacted with entire group. Gave great insights into history and cultural aspects associated with detail of the site. Excellent !!!
Very poor service. Meeting point not clear. So we missed our tour. Many people trying to help but when we called Viator representative very rude and refused to refund our money.
Not impressed.
Please have senior representative contact me to discuss this.
Thank you

Thank you for your feedback. We understand how frustrating it can be to miss a tour, but we would like to clarify what happened for transparency with future guests.
On the day of the tour, your booking was the only one that did not arrive at the meeting point. We had several other guests — including bookings made through Viator, like yours — who were able to find the guide without any issues, which confirms that the meeting point was clearly indicated.
Additionally, as part of our standard procedure, the guide sent via Whatsapp a reminder message prior to the tour to the contact number provided in the reservation, including the exact location of the meeting point. No response was received.
The guide also waited an additional 5 minutes as a courtesy before starting the tour.
We received your call at 16:15, after the tour had already begun. At that point, it is not possible to contact the guide or interrupt the experience for other guests, and we are unable to offer a refund once the tour has started.
Kind regards,
The guided tour is helpful. Lots of explanations of the "why's" and "how's". Lucia was great. Good sense of humor and willing to answer additional questions.
Easy to find meeting point. Our guide was full of knowledge without going into too much history. Plenty of time to take photos and to explore at the end.
Terrible customer service. I tried to cancel our tour 24 hours ahead and was told we couldn’t get a refund because their system said it was past the 24 hour period and she couldn’t argue with their system. I was then told she would request refund from the tour operator and someone would be in touch. I had no communication from Viator so my husband and sister went and no one was there. I had fallen down the stairs on the cruise ship and wrenched my ankle and in hired my tailbone, but they still said I could they a refund. In the past I’ve always been very happy with Viator and recommended them to other travelers, but I can’t give them a good recommendation anymore.
Lucia was a great guide, she seemed genuinely interested in the history of Spain and Andalucia, and had a very interesting and engaging way of telling it. The tour took us all over the Alcazaba, with further tips on what to see and not from there. The tour ended inside, so you can roam
about and explore on your own after. Fascinating!
Group was kept to a reasonable size and headsets were provided for commentary. Occasionally it was difficult to understand Salvador’s English—either too fast or accented. He was accommodating and made sure to stop multiple times on the ascent through the fortress. Participants should be aware that walking surfaces are often uneven (worse than cobblestone) and that there are steps (without railings) everywhere. You can’t look around except when stopped because you have to pay attention to the walk. Would recommend if you have never been to a Moorish fortress before. Otherwise come for the view more so than the fortress itself.
