Pick up was right on time and away we went to Kuala Selangor. Mr. Mcpall Singh Sidhu was a first rate guide. Offered insightful information and made sure you knew what was upcoming and when and where to be. The fireflies and blue tears were enthralling. Along with the monkey hill and lovely river side dinner made for a great evening out. Thank you.

This tour was up amongst the best we have ever done, and we don’t normally do organised tours. Sasi was a fabulous guide. He picked usp on time, was so engaging, informative, knowledgeable and caring. Sasi deserves 11/10 and the tour as well. So interesting, fun and amazing. Definitely a must do!!!

Fireflies and Blue Tears tour, Kuala Selangor

We really loved this trip! Our tour guide. Darwin, was very friendly and knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make this a great experience. The monkeys were a real highlight, it’s was great fun to interact with them, we got some awesome photos! We ate at a riverside restaurant, rustic atmosphere and the food was lovely with lots of it. The boat trip to end the day was magical, with the fireflies and blue tears showing up for us, so we felt lucky to see it. The coach is roomy and comfortable with aircon, and the journey felt quite short. Highly recommend!

We had a great time although we didn’t get to see much of the blue tears but our boat guided person tried his best. He was excellent. We got so closed to the fireflies and that was a great experience. Our tour guide Charlie was great as well.

Langurs, Fireflies and Blue Tears

This was a fabulous experience. We weren't expecting to interact with a troop of silver leaf langurs at the lighthouse and fort; it was truly magical. And the sunset views were second to none. Then we enjoyed an exquisite meal at the boat dock before heading out to see the fireflies. What a spectacular display! I live in a place where people come from around the world to see our fireflies but Kuala Selangor has a beat in sheer numbers and brilliance. And the blue tears...phenomenal!. Don't miss this tour! I gave 4 instead of 5 stars because we had vehicle problems that could have been avoided & our bus wasn't the best for site-seeing along the way.

Very fun trip for the whole family. We accidentally went during a thunderstorm but it added to the experience. Recommend bringing a towel or extra coat to leave on the bus because the raincoat was not enough. We also had a great time feeding the monkeys. Dinner was delicious as well.

The tour has 3 main parts - stop off to meet the silver leaf monkeys at the lighthouse, a casual dinner at a Chinese riverside place and boat tour to see the plankton and fireflies. The guide Darwin and his driver kept up good pace on the road and provided some lighthearted jokes en route talking about what we will see (or won’t see). The plankton were a bit shy on our visit but we still got to see enough. The fireflies were nice and your camera won’t do them justice. The food at the Chinese riverside eatery was really good, and had plenty for a group to share. By the end of the trip everyone had a chance to chat with one another and everyone agreed we had a nice evening out of town.

The fireflies were amazing but the blue tears did not appear although the captain tried hard. Unfortunately for me i do not like meals that are served on a lazy susan where it is a free for all so i ended up having to purchase my own meal. Also water on the table was hot. Tour guide was informative

Darwin was our tour guide. Excellent comms beforehand and prompt pick up. First took us to see monkeys and viewpoint, then really nice dinner at a Chinese /Thai restaurant and then speedboat trip to see the blue tears and Fireflies. Well organised, knowledgeable guide, some jokes and good driver from captain too. Very good value for money, excellent trip, couldn't have been better, loved it.

Magical Night of Fireflies and Blue Tears – A Truly Unforgettable Experience! This was one of the most magical and awe-inspiring experiences I’ve ever had. From start to finish, the Fireflies and Blue Tears tour felt like stepping into a different world. As the boat gently glided along the river, we were surrounded by the twinkling lights of hundreds of fireflies—it was like watching stars dance among the trees. And just when I thought it couldn’t get more surreal, we reached the part of the water glowing with Blue Tears—tiny bioluminescent plankton that shimmered and sparkled every time the water moved. It was absolutely mesmerizing and felt like something out of a fairytale or fantasy movie. The guide was knowledgeable and respectful of the environment, which made the experience even more meaningful. They shared fascinating facts about the fireflies and the rare conditions needed for the Blue Tears to appear, all while keeping the mood peaceful and magical. It was an amazing experience. Our tour guide was awesome. She give us a lot of information about everything in Malaysia and related to our tour. I forgot her name but she is a wonderful grandma and if I want to repeat this trip I will do it because of her. Thank you from the heart❤️. We did feed the monkey in a beautiful view. We had a delicious dinner. Also we did see the firefly and the blue light. Overall I will give this trip 10/10

Enjoyed our trip. Pick up and drop off from hotel was a lovely bonus. Feeding the monkeys was great. Enjoyed the meal very much The fireflies were not as good as I imaged but still great. The blue tears was limited, but still nice to stir up the water and see the blue in the net. Its nature, so you can not always expect to see them.

I loved this tour. It included a lot of different activities, and went for about 7 hours, so it was exhausting but in a good way. Our guide Steven was really knowledgeable and I think this would especially appeal to anyone interesting wildlife, as he was able to talk in detail about how a lot of the insects etc are classified. As a science teacher, I was impressed by the accuracy and detail. Although we didn’t stop at temples, Steven did point a lot out as we drive past, and gave us information about them. Spending time with the monkeys was brilliant, but time slips by quickly so keep an eye on your watch! The dinner provided as part of the tour was fairly standard Chinese fare, but very tasty, and I could see some amazing a la carts dishes being ordered by non tour patrons that might be possible to pay extra for. After dinner it was dark enough to split into smaller groups for the boats to go view the fire flies and blue tears. While you don’t see fire flies really up close, it was spectacular seeing the mangrove plants flashing with the lights of thousands of fire flies. I think the boat ride would be fun even without a specific aim, the sky was clear with a lovely view of the sky, and there were many birds too. Apparently the blue tears can be variable but we got a nice blue glow as we dragged our little nets through the water. Overall, a big day out, but varied and a lot of fun.
